About this property

Gorgeous water views, cozy and spacious! Walk to restaurants /pubs & beaches!!

This perfect three-bedroom/two-full bath home is in the heart of the village of Lubec, Maine. Gazing upon the tidal waters of the Lubec Narrows, and walking distance to all in-town amenities; there is no better place to stay! Directly across from Campobello island, Canada. Watch the 23 foot tides come and go! This lovely vintage home features an enclosed sun porch with a 180-degree view of the Narrows, FDR International Bridge and Water Street's picturesque historic buildings. A piece of your heart will never leave!

The Pleasant Street house is an 1889-vintage house that has been beautifully restored with both traditional charm and all the modern conveniences. Take a short walk to the town landing -- with its breakwater and where you may see seals play in the tidal currents. Walk to all in-town amenities and activities including whale-watching tours, the brewery, coffee/espresso shop, restaurants and Water Street shopping. Enjoy the free summer keys music program, June through Aug. Short drive to West Quoddy Head International Park, and the beginning of a shore trail that stretches almost ten miles along the coast. There are several state, national, and provincial parks and refuges are within a 15-20 minute drive.

The main floor of the house has a living room with a sleeper sofa, two club chairs and a recliner. There is a dining room that seats up to 6 people. A fully equipped kitchen with an open shelf designed galley kitchen with a front loading washer and dryer. There is a full bathroom with a large walk in shower with massage shower head and built in seats. There are luxury towels in both bathrooms and the downstairs toilet has a quiet close, heated seat. An all glass sun room with views of the Lubec Narrows and FDR International Bridge, has comfortable seating that will become your favorite spot for morning and evening beverages. The second floor has three beautiful and comfortable bedrooms boasting a California king bed, and two queen beds, as well as a second bathroom which includes a soaking tub with a sitting shower/quiet close toilet. There is a large yard for your use with a picnic bench. 300 mg Wi-Fi is available throughout the house, and there is a large smart TV in the living room for viewing your own streaming apps . Lots of board games! The two queen bedrooms have small flat screen smart tv's for streaming. The whole house has radiator/baseboard heat with the exception of one queen bedroom. There is an additional sitting room with 2 rocking chairs which also looks upon the gorgeous bridge.
This home has a large back yard with some flowers and large shade trees. There is an apple tree by the front door which fruits in September. There is a picnic bench/propane grill available for outdoor dining. Our Love at First Light Gift Shop is located next to the house. You can purchase gifts, souvenirs, clothing, locally hand crafted products and delicious Gifford's Ice Cream.

We have weekly rentals from Saturday to Saturday and will consider shorter stays based upon availability.

Tranquil Location and Great Home
We really enjoyed our stay in Lubec. The house was amazing, the views were incredible. Everything you needed for a quiet, peaceful, and relaxing vacation. The host was very good at answering our questions as we had never been to Maine before and her suggestions for things to do were great. Came to see the leaves changing and Mother Nature did not disappoint. The house was very clean and had everything we needed from a fully equipped kitchen to great internet, to an overall comfortable furnishing. I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Lubec.

Nice home and owners
We were staying here when Lee passed by the area on 9/16 and lost power for 8 hours, which we expected. Owners were great about communicating about the outage and had left us flashlights and a lantern. All fine with us. Unfortunately, we did not know that hot water was gone the night of 9/17 until 9/18, when there was another power outage later in a limited area that included this house that lasted 18 hours…we never figured out why. Owners were kind to provide a gift certificate toward part of dinner that night, as we could not cook. So, nice place and owners…there were just problems over which owners had no control, which made our stay less pleasant, which is the reason for the overall rating of 4, not 5.

Quaint coastal charm
The hosts were responsive, kind, and completely accommodating. The house was nicely stocked with essentials, plenty of linens, and an assortment of games to play at the generous dining table. The location was nearly perfect with a great view from the sunroom - our favorite spot from morning to night. If you are looking for a quiet getaway yet being located in the town’s center, then this place is for you. We are happy we chose to stay here.

Lubec Home
Easy access to house. Owner available if needed and kept in touch to see if there were any problems. Everything we needed was provided Several rooms for different projects going at once but we used and loved the sun room with the view of the bridge to Canada and we used that several times. Lubec is a walking town but also lots of trails, well maintained in the area. My favorite area of Maine.

Tammy moved from CT to Downeast Maine in 2012. She fell in love with it's coastal rugged beauty, and serene way of life. She and her life-long friend and business partner, Sandra, purchased the home on 34 Pleasant Street. Through this perfect location for a summer rental, she hoped others would be able to experience the same unspoiled beauty in the town she calls home. The property also has a small building that has become a wonderful Gift & Ice cream Shop that Tammy owns! Make sure to stop in and say hello!

Why they chose this property

The home was built in 1889. It has all of the charm of that period without sacrificing comfort or space. Large and spacious, this home boasts a sun room with a 180 degree view of the Campobello Bridge, the Narrows, and Historic Water Street. A fully updated galley kitchen that exudes rural charm, gives you all of the comforts of home, along with the peace and serenity that only Downeast Maine can provide. Beautiful weather May through Oct.

What makes this property unique

The convenient location of this home is unparalleled in downtown Lubec vacation homes. While retaining its' quiet historic charm, it is literally at Campobello Island's door step, looking at the rushing, tidal Lubec Narrows, and is only steps from all downtown amenities/restaurants and pubs! As if things couldn't get any better, there is even a local farmer's/vendor market on Saturday's from 10-12 during June to October literally adjacent to the house! You have to see it and experience it to believe it! Give yourself the vacation of a lifetime and book with us today!!
