700 SQ FT 1 BED BASEMENT SUITE, WITH QUEEN SIZE SOFA BED IN LIVING ROOM.
I am a retired police officer, born and raised in England, and have lived in Canada since 1977, moving slowly west via Toronto, Calgary and now the final stop, Penticton. Whilst law enforcement was my career, horticulture/gardening has been my passion since I was a young boy growing up in England.
David. purchased this House in 2014
Why David. chose Penticton
I visited the Okanagan Valley many times over the years. I relocated to Penticton in May 2014, having retired from a 38 year career in policing in 2007. I lived in Calgary for 32 years, where we worked and raised a family. I was attracted to this property due to its lake level location, and size of the yard that I felt offered unique landscaping opportunities. Although a project of love and work in progress, I will let my guests be the judge.
What makes this House unique
I offer a roomy basement suite, lots of light through the oversize windows, that from the living room offer views of the mountains. The rear yard is colorful and private, and there are always shade areas depending on the time of day. There is now a Koi fish pond, with waterfall and stream, located by the rear deck. This offers the calming sound of water 24 hours a day. The suite is now approved as a City of Penticton, Short Term Rental, and meets all current safety and building codes. The property is fully fenced, with an electric gate and man gate to the front driveway. The rear yard is fully fenced with man gates that are kept closed.

Rain or shine, this was perfect for our vacation.
A beautifully maintained property, both indoors and out. English garden and pond make it a sanctuary setting. We did not utilize the outdoor living space due to the rain, save for the BBQ a couple of times in the evening. Some light at the BBQ would have been helpful instead of having to hold my flashlight! If there was any lighting, it was not switched on. I also find over the door hook for bathroom doors, helpful when hanging toiletry bags or clothing items whilst using the tub/shower. Thank you.
Great place, beautiful location!
Was very happy with my stay. David was very helpful and was there whenever needed. Everything was fully stocked and place was clean! Would highly recommend.
Amazing Property and Location
We had such a great stay here. Perfect home base for running, biking, swimming, paddling, and wine touring. David is an amazing host. The garden is beautiful, and we got to enjoy fresh veggies picked for us on arrival. I would absolutely stay here again.
Convenient location. Clean. Comfortable and a great value
David is an excellent host and the property is as advertised. Beautiful backyard and clean. Comfortable unit with plenty of space. Our family of four with two teenage daughters were very comfortable. Close to Skaha beach park. We will definitely be back to Penticton and this unit will be at the top of the list if it is available.
Better than advertised !!!
A fabulous suite and host. David is very friendly and didn’t hesitate to give us helpful advice on things to do and where to go. Would not hesitate to book again. Highly recommend booking this suite.
This property was a short drive to Skaha Lake and shopping. It was clean, quiet and had everything we needed. David and Forest were wonderful hosts. Highly recommend.
Penticton is a resort town of about 33,000 people, located at the south end of the Okanagan Valley, which boasts in excess of 180 wineries and vineyards. Many have restaurants and entertainment through the spring summer and fall. There is rock climbing at Skaha Bluffs Provincial Park located directly behind my house, a world famous area for climbers, it also offers mountain biking trails and numerous hiking trails. Hiking and bike trails are numerous in the area, many of which are accessible to wineries. The area literally offers something for everyone.
