Overview

About the property

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, Sleeps 6 (4 adults)

You'll never want to leave The Shoreline Cottage, a charming North Hero vacation rental, at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, packed with a wood-burning stove, charcoal grill, and direct access to regal Lake Champlain.

Plan out your day while relaxing on the Adirondack chairs on the property's lawn, which is just 20 feet from the lake's shore. Spend your day wandering the shore in search of fossils. You can walk or drive about three miles to the west side of Isle La Motte to Saint Anne's Shrine for quiet reflection or a fulfilling brunch. In town is Hero's Welcome for Vermont-based gifts and goods. Just nine miles away is North Hero State Park where you may spot white-tail deer and ruffled grouse.

Staying lakeside at the cottage may be your cup of tea, however. Made for the laid-back traveler, this home provides plenty of quiet nooks to unwind with loved ones. Play Scrabble or Trivial Pursuit at the expandable card table in the sunroom – until the sun sets when you'll want to watch the sky shift shades from the ample lake-facing windows.

On chilly fall evenings, head into the living room for apple cider toddies. If you never get a chance to lounge in front of the TV at home, feel free to do so here with the cable-equipped flatscreen.

New England summers are divine for fixing sweet corn and clams over the smoky charcoal grill. Behind the gorgeous cabinetry of the fully stocked kitchen are all the tools and dining ware needed.

This single-level home has two bedrooms that will accommodates four adults and two additional children. The master bedroom features a cozy queen-size bed in which guests can go from their pillows right out to the lake through a sliding glass door! The second room has two twin beds, and there's a pull-out sofa in the living room. A maximum of six guests are welcome here!

Other amenities include a full bathroom, outdoor shower for a post-swim rinse, and WiFi. This is a great rental for avid bikers who enjoy rides filled with incredible views.

In addition to Isle La Motte attractions, you'll find even more with a 45-mile drive from the cottage. If you love a good scenic drive, take a 24-mile trip down to South Hero or 45 miles into mainland to Burlington.

This Lake Champlain vacation cottage will invoke serenity and good memories for years to come. Book soon!

About Vacasa, VT - Lake Champlain Islands Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s familys summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Peaceful, tranquil, quaint, and 100% relaxing

 • 5 of 5

My three young kids and I like to road trip to new places each summer. This house was perfect for us. The view is amazing. The sound of the waves rocked us to sleep each night. The sunrise was like seeing a new painting each morning. We walked the shoreline and collected pebbles and sea glass. It doesn't get any more relaxing than this! Bring a float and let all your troubles float away. We thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful, relaxing stay. The drive through the islands is fun. We did the pretty drive to Burlington twice.

Beautiful place

The island is so serene, and the cottage is right on the water with its own little beach. We were really impressed with the support from Vacasa, too.

Cute cabin with a great yard!

 • 4 of 5

We spent the weekend in the cabin and enjoyed it's cozy rustic interior (as other reviews said, it could use some upkeep, but it does have the proper cabin feel to it), and loves the big shady lawn outside, the bbq and swimming in the lake. A lovely weekend getaway.

Clean and well appointed cottage!

 • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the shoreline cottage very much. It was cozy and welcoming. It was quiet, very few people around. One evening while sitting on rocky beach having a campfire we saw 2 eagles fly by Highly recommend staying!

Quiet, Peaceful, Waterfront Cottage

 • 4 of 5

This simple waterfront cottage is a quiet escape. While not fancy, the accommodations are more than adequate for a couple or even a small family. The small property is right on the lake, with easy access to swimming and a canoe, that is sturdier than it looks, is available for short excursions. Isle La Motte is a simple agrarian island, and slightly more built up on the opposing (west side), likely due to the sunset views provided there. This cottage has a simple screened in porch, a modest kitchen, master bedroom with a queen sized bed overlooking the lake, and a second bedroom with 2 twin beds. The bath is small and simple, but sufficient. The lawn has a hand built stone grill/fireplace, a pair of Adirondack chairs, and a small lawn. The cottage could use a little more polish for the price, but we got exactly what we were looking for, waterfront solitude.
