Nestled in a harbour-side eastern suburbs cul-de-sac but bursting with Old English charm, this perfectly located Vaucluse home is private, peaceful and family-friendly. It s a gentle walk to the beaches, parks and restaurants of Watson s Bay and its ferry services to places all around Sydney Harbour. Its exquisite interiors and quirky personal touches from its English owners makes for an ideal sanctuary to make your home away from home.

Whether you are an entertainer, explorer or homebody, this property caters for all needs, with multiple entertaining spaces, both indoors and outside, as well as peaceful study and relaxation nooks to take your pick from.

On the ground floor of the home are the main living and dining areas, decked out with timber flooring and bathed in natural light. The elegant sitting room is furnished in a bright and crisp colour palette and leads into an equally bright and air-conditioned kitchen and dining room, complete with a traditional English sunroom and pathway to a private courtyard garden. The perfect spot for that end of day gin and tonic.

The ground floor also houses the elegant air-conditioned master bedroom suite which has an array of beautiful antique furniture and is accented with artwork collected by the owners on their travels. A sunlit main bathroom and a compact study with extra bed complete this spacious ground level that boasts a quaint Notting Hill-esque ambience.

The entire upstairs level is dedicated to a large bright bedroom with its own balcony, complete with an ensuite bathroom with separate shower, built in wardrobes and chaise longue: the perfect teenage retreat or a space to relax and chill at the end of a busy day.

From its convenient and luxury location, to its spacious, airy and bright atmosphere, this adorably charming home is the perfect place to base yourself in Sydney. It has easy access to all of Sydney s most coveted attractions, including harbourside beaches, shopping hotspots and eateries. This was the 2nd time we’ve stayed at this home and it’s become a home away from home for us - so lovely and comfortable and has everything we needed.

Comfortable Home Away from Home

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Elanora House while visiting family nearby! Very clean, comfortable, warm (we were there during a cold & wet winter!), well laid out home, nestled in lovely greenery, easy walk to a nice little beach. Only downside was a lack of any pantry staples for cooking, but we were able to buy some from nearby grocery stores. We hope to stay there again sometime!

Wohnen wie Sydneysider

Die Doppelhaushälfte im Villenviertel Vaucluse hat zwei sehr geräumige Schlafzimmer, ein nettes Wohnzimmer und eine großzügige Küche, alles sauber und ordentlich. Einen Stern weniger gibt es aus zwei Gründen: dieses Feriendomizil als 3-bedroom-villa zu führen ist nicht gerechtfertigt, das dritte Schlafzimmer ist eher ein begehbarer Schrank mit Fenster, das Hochbett hat keinen Meter Abstand zur Decke, was für meinen ausgewachsenen Bruder ein Problem war, auch weil es ziemlich warm werden konnte da oben. Für einen Zehnjährigen mag das recht lustig sein, aber es ist definitiv kein Schlafzimmer für einen Erwachsenen. Und das zweite Minus: die Unmöglichkeit, eine akzeptable Temperatur in den Duschen zu erreichen - entweder zu heiß oder zu kühl (zumindest zum Haarewaschen braucht es warmes Wasser), und beides mit wenig Druck. Abgesehen davon haben wir den Aufenthalt genossen, Auto ist nicht notwendig, Busse und Fähren sind zu Fuß in wenigen Minuten erreichbar, für Großeinkäufe kann man sich ein Taxi leisten, und wenn nicht gerade Feiertage und Ferien sind (wir waren vom 24.12.-2.1. da), ist die Versorgung vor Ort mit Restaurants und Geschäften sehr gut.
