The Many World Stories Retreat was created by a now 'off the hook' from the real world person. The developer of Many World Stories Retreat, a world traveler who is now back in the place that she calls 'HOME' and has renovated the 'White House' with her own designs in mind. This Retreat has all the comforts of a cottage in the woods.
My Little Crooked House, The 'White House" is decorated with the colors of Guatemala, a very favorite place of the developer. She has used the richness of Guatemalan colors. One large bedroom considered the Master Bedroom/Sitting room has cedar wood walls, hardwood floors and is surrounded with 3/4' floor to ceiling windows. The Master Bedroom/Sitting Room is heated by a Franklin cast iron wood stove or electric heat and cooled by air conditioning or a large lighted 3 speed ceiling fan, it offers a walk in closet, a 32" movable flat screen TV and the most comfortable chaise lounge. The Bathroom is equipped with an all tile rain shower large enough for two, new towels and linens, and a unique design of custom tile floor and walls.
The 'White House' has a large Kitchen with a Jenn Air stove top with grill and a separate oven, all appliances, dishes, pots and pans are provided. The Dining Room has a great view of the lake; also equipped with dishes, glasses, silverware and table linens. There is also a lighted 2 speed ceiling fan.
The home well lighted living room is cozy and comfortable with plenty of assorted books for the avid reader. There is a stackable washer and dryer adjacent the smaller bedroom. The smaller bedroom is connected to the bathroom.
The "White House's sits on a hill at 252 Driftwood Lane. In the spring time the hill is covered with blooming Daffodils and in the fall the trees are fresh Autumn. Their are flower beds on the east and west side of the house. You leave the master bedroom onto a deck that surrounds the back side of the house. This deck holds patio furniture, and a BBQ Grill.
The property is in the deep woods of Kentucky, the nearest town is Murray KY 16 miles away. It is not a resort, it is the woods, with gravel roads and sometimes after a heavy rain the roads wash and I get on my tractor to grade them. This home is wrapped by the presence of nature and sits at the top of a hill. You step from the Master Bedroom/Sitting Room door into wide open space of woods where you can head down the hill to the lake, No pressure here, no "Ohh or Aww" of a fancy car or a 'Nitro" boat, no dressing up for dinner, unless its Sunday and you want to put on your Sunday's best and head on in to town to Church.
So take off your shoes walk barefoot through the grass and smell the good clean rotted wood earth, dig earthworms, bait your own hook, jump off the old dock, that my grandfather built in 1952, visit the old family Cemetery and listen to the night sounds, catch some 'Lightn Bugs'. just don't step on any toads. This country is a once in a lifetime experience, You might never pass this way again.
The roof of the house will soon be tin to help induce the deepest sleep on those soft or thundering rainy nights.
Boats can be launched from nearby Paradise Resort for a small fee.
The property also has a small fishing dock that will accommodate two fishing boat.
Jenn Air Stove and Grill
Yes the John Boat is being redone and will be available for rent at 25.00 per day or a week or 125.00 per week. Just to let you know this is a 'wildlife sanctuary' lots of beautiful birds, including American Eagles, Cranes, Osprey, great fishing for Catfish, Bluegill, Crappie, Redfish, Bass, we have Canadian geese, that we have built a basket nest for on one end of the dock, we have deer that we feed in the valley, and four baby fox kits that live under the tractor shed, raccoons that we don't encourage, we see armadillo, and we have snakes that we DO NOT encourage, and occasional field mice that we do set traps for. The road is gravel and is sometime steep on the way down the hill, I grade it every other day. The water was really low until the 15th of April of this year and now is very high, we lost one float off on end of the dock which is not being replace and the boat dock newly painted. There is a canoe that guest can use for free at their own liability.
