Beautiful setting

  • 4 of 5

The setting is beautiful- peaceful and very quiet. The house itself is bigger then it appears in the photos and comfortably accommodated my friends and I. I slept on the futon which was a little challenging to pull out but very comfortable. There is no stove which were not aware of but we made it work (could have been mentioned in the summary but I didn't remember reading about it). The only reason we didn't give it a 5 star rating is that the bathroom needed a bit more of deep cleaning otherwise everything was as we expected and we would recommend it.

Gorgeous property

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying here! They were so nice, communicative and friendly even before we got there. They met us and walked us through the property and made sure we had everything we needed. Great space, tons of light, having AC was a lifesaver and the deck was beautiful. We hope to visit Ashland again and will definitely stay here if we do.

Rustic charm and comfort

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was charming, with large deck, strung with lights in the oaks.Close to town but far enough out that you had country setting with a short walk to Emigrant Lake. Just one word of advice, if cooking for a family, use the grill. There is no oven, just hot plates and a toaster oven however, all appliances work well. We would definitely stay again.

Great combination of city and country!

  • 5 of 5

This cozy cottage is a great place to stay! We appreciated the convenience of cooking our own meals and spent a lot of time walking to the lake or relaxing on the deck gazing at the beautiful views of the surrounding hills. It was also an easy commute to town to the theaters. Staying at the cottage truly felt like having the best of both worlds!

Jim was a wonderful host and did everything possible to make sure that our visit was enjoyable! His kindness (and rain gear!) made so we could comfortably watch plays outside in the midst of frequent downpours.

Reminded me of Tuscany

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our quick yet relaxing trip. Jim and Jenny were excellent hosts. The rental unit was clean with all of the necessary amenities. The home was spacious and perfect for my husband and I and my parents. We enjoyed walking to emigrant lake, wine tasting near by at Dancin vineyards and relaxing on the patio. We felt like we were a world away but town is just a short way down the road. The water from the shower, bathroom sink and kitchen sink has a sulfur smell so I would recommend bringing drinking water and water to brush your teeth if your picky about those things. It is completely fine to drink just had a not so pleasant smell.

Very nice property within walking distance to the lake

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. Jim came right out to greet us and show us around he was very pleasant and informative. The home is our far enough to be in the country but was also very short drive to town. we would have enkjoyed the stay much more if it had been nicer weather like early spring or summer. We couldn't enjoy the deck which would have been great in warmer weather.

Owner's Response: We were surprised and disappointed to read your review. In the four years we have doing VRBO we have never received a review lower than a four. It sounds like you enjoyed your accommodations but were disappointed in the weather which of course we have no control over. This effects our business. Jim and Jenni
