The home is 1600 square feet with three bedrooms, one bath, kitchen and living room combined and the most exciting part of the house is the large porch or master bedroom with 3/4 floor to ceiling windows that surround this room. Home has central heat and air.
Entering the home from the front deck, you enter into a a large kitchen, equipped with refrigerator, electric cook stove and oven with overhead fan, microwave, tiled kitchen table, and plenty of Cedar wood cabinet space full of pots, pans, dishes, silverware and glasses. The cabinets are simply beautiful, The Cedar Wood cabinets are original and date back to the 1950's.
The kitchen and living room are combined and both rooms are covered with the Cedar wood paneling which is original and has been kept in excellent condition. The living room is cozy and quaint with the end wall being covered with a wall to wall raised fireplace, fireplace hearth and cherry wood mantel. Keeping this room cozy there is an inserted wood stove with fan to circulate the warm air throughout the house. partially hardwood floor and carpet, lighted ceiling fan and pole lamps, TV with Direct TV and Internet.
To the right of the living room area is two bedrooms and bathroom. The smaller bedroom is decorated with the Native American flair, very comfortable just right for aspiring musical man.
The bath room with the main entrance from the rest of the house. The bathroom will be completely tiled with a large shower, plenty of cabinet space for linens. (bathroom very well lighted). One small flaw is that the man who tiled the bathroom neglected to wipe the grout off and the owner has been sanding grout off the walls ever since. but the shower works great.
The larger bedroom master bedroom in the winter, guest bedroom in the summer, is full of softness and calm, colors of light green meadow and lemon yellow. This room will be known as the 'Writers Corner' small, secure and full of warmth for inspiring thoughts and wild imaginations. Very secluded from the rest of the house which will inspire the deepest thoughts. Reading lamps, carpeted, a ceiling fan.
And now for the best part of the house is the beautiful cedar wood porch, master bedroom in the summer. Floor to ceiling widow surround the room which you enter from double doors from the living room. This 'Artist Room'room is huge with a king size bed .The windows surround the room and are floor to ceiling. There is a walk-in closet with a stackable washer and dryer. When entering the master bedroom there are floor to ceiling bookshelves made from the Cedar wood paneling that is original and well kept from the 1950's. In the left side of this huge room is an Artist's Easel, a painters table. You will fall in love with this room. (hardwood floors,many spot lighted lamps, and Internet)
This home also has a detached two car garage, with a large workbench and many tools for those who enjoys working with their hands.
The property is in the deep woods of Kentucky, the nearest town is Murray KY 22 miles away. It is not a resort, it is the woods, with gravel roads and sometimes after a heavy rain the roads wash and I get on my tractor to grade them. This home is wrapped by the presence of nature and sits at the very top of the hill. You step from the Master Bedroom/Sitting Room door into wide open space of woods where you can head down the hill to the lake, No pressure here, no "Ohh or Aww" of a fancy car or a 'Nitro" boat, no dressing up for dinner, unless its Sunday and you want to put on your Sunday's best and head on in to town to Church.
So take off your shoes walk barefoot through the grass and smell the good clean rotted wood earth, dig earthworms, bait your own hook, jump off the old dock, that my grandfather built in 1952, visit the old family Cemetery and listen to the night sounds, catch some 'Lightn Bugs'. just don't step on any toads. This country is a once in a lifetime experience, You might never pass this way again.
The roof of the house is now tin to help induce the deepest sleep on those soft or thundering rainy nights.
Boats can be launched from nearby Paradise Resort for a small fee.
