3 Bedroom + 1 Large Bunk Room 3.5 Bath On The Lake W/ Party Dock And Lake Toys
My wife and I purchased this home to be our retirement home in the next 10 years. We love the lake and when this house became available we knew we had to buy it.
Steve purchased this House in 2015
Why Steve chose Dawsonville
It is so calm and peaceful plus the cove has neighbors but it is super private. Basically, if you don't live there and you end up there, you are lost! Just out in front of cove is a large enough stretch of water for skiing and tubing. Being close to the Georgia mountains as well as shopping was a major plus.
What makes this House unique
2 tier party dock with cabana makes for a great day at the lake. Plenty of shade when needed. Boat slip for tying off is great. And non-motor toys are yours to use. Great over-sized fire pit is always a huge hit. Huge kitchen makes it easy to accomandate large gatherings when you want to cook. It is an open floor plan so everyone stays connected in the family room. Upstairs bunk room gives kids private gaming in the t.v and a little peace and quiet to themselves. They also get their own bath with full shower.

Perfect Wedding Weekend
We absolutely loved this house for our wedding weekend! It was the perfect place for our wedding party to stay at. It had plenty of room and enough beds for everyone. If needed though, there is plenty of room for an air mattress.
The house was extremely clean and well stocked with everything we needed. We loved the firepit and had 12 people around it easily. The walk to the dock was well worth it. Even in October we enjoyed a few drinks on top of the dock enjoying the view. This home and property is beauiful both inside and out!
Probably most importantly though the communication with the owner (Steve) was top notch!! When renting a home for vacation or in our case a wedding you want to know you have someone willing to communicate if there are any problems. We didn't have any issues during our stay but if we had, I am 100% confident they would have been solved quickly and efficiently!
This house was just one of the reasons our wedding weekend was a huge success! I would recommend it to anyone and look forward to staying here again in the future!
Beautiful Getaway on the Lake
I rented this home for a family gathering for my father's 70th birthday. Having grown up on a lake, I thought it would be a perfect place for my Dad as he missed being on the water, canoeing and fishing. Unfortunately my father passed weeks prior to his surprise gathering so we changed it to a gathering in celebration of his life, however he would've loved it! The home was incredibly beautiful and just as described. There were even a few surprises, there is a table in the kitchen that seats 6 which is not in the photos which was perfect. We ended up renting a table and chairs for extra seating prior to arrival and didn't need them at all. There is plenty of seating so everyone can eat at once. The lake views were nice from the house. The surprise ping pong table in the basement and the cornhole set provided a lot of fun. We were also pleasantly surprised by the fridge in the garage for storing our beverages. The walk down to the lake was a nice stroll however the walk back up can be tough in the summer heat as it's all uphill (those last 20 steps are the steepest). The party deck was perfect for watching the sunset which was gorgeous. We also fished without catching anything but it was still fun. We got off to a bit of a rocky start with getting the HVAC units running but Steve was quick to respond and it was up and running quickly. There are tons of spiders at this place as we had to walk through many cobwebs to enter the property and my family had to use a broom to knock down cobwebs at the entrance, garage, deck and patio furniture but the inside was immaculate with no bugs at all! The firepit was great for outside seating, it was summer so we didn't light a fire but loved sitting out there and chatting after the sun had set. The driveways provided plenty of parking as well. We had a great time and everyone commented on how beautiful this home is. If you are looking to rent this home, you will not be disappointed!
I appreciate the review and it's true honesty. I do regret that your father did not have a chance to see it but I am sure looking down he enjoyed the weekend as much as you and your family.
We rented for our daughters wedding in Dahlonega. We used the house to host the rehearsal dinner and all guests loved it. We spent the day after the wedding relaxing in the lake. It was so quiet and beautiful!! The house was stocked with everything we needed. Now we all want to move to Dawsonville!!!
Group Cabin Weekend
4 couples trip for a weekend to the lake. House was great for the group, plenty of room for dinners and activities. Enjoyed the dock and fire pit, rented a boat one day (paradise boat rentals). A little bit of a hike on the boat but was a fun ride. Close to stores shops if you need food/supplies, but still feels like getting away.
Great Family Spot
Had a great time at this lake house. House is well appointed and neighborhood is really nice. Super convenient being right off the highway. Very relaxing!!!
Lake is not quite as close as you think.
We were here with a total of 3 families including 6 teenagers. The space was fantastic and the kitchen easy for all of us be in. The unfinished basement with ping pong table was a pleasant surprise. Beds were all comfortable (although all kids complained about squeakiness of metal bunks upstairs waking them when anyone moved) Hot water was ample. We didn’t have great weather (rain!) most of our time there but we tried to take advantage of the lake when we could. One canoe and 1 kayak were available for use. Both usable but broken. Initially there were not enough paddles to use but owner had a neighbor bring us extras (which we appreciated). The pedal boat was not there as lost by prior guests. There was a pump that we were able to use to inflate a couple of rafts that were provided. There were fishing poles and a tackle box but none of the handful we brought down to the lake were really working/usable. The distance to the lake is really what surprised us the most though. The info on the house says short stroll. Not really. It is 99stairs and 150 steep steps up and down which was difficult for a couple of people in our group. One other reviewer stated this in May 2019 that was not available to see when we rented in October 2018 for our June 2019 trip. The fire pit area is nice and the firewood was protected/covered so not wet! But it is not by the lake it’s by the garage because there is not room on the hill. There is no pool or jacuzzi but there is a propane grill and indoor fireplace (for winter). Porch areas not screened in (or covered) so not really usable in evenings (bugs) or when raining. Spacious 2 car garage. Bring your own soap and shampoo as there was only hand soap. Bring extra garbage bags if you plan on using throw away plates etc as we went through what was provided (these mommas didn’t want to do dishes on vacation! ) Nearby grocery stores restaurants and movie theater. Was overall fine but I’ll read VRBO a little bit more closely in the future to make sure it has what we need/prefer.
