Welcome aboard your own floating 5 star boutique hotel that will cruise you around the British Virgin Islands in style! Yachting aboard our luxurious sailing vessel will truly take you away from the stress and work of your life on shore. Our Lagoon 500 is the top model charter catamaran in the Caribbean. This is the Mercedes of cats, not like the boats that the big charter companies put you on. Save yourself some money and get a better boat by chartering directly from the owner!

Picture beautiful Caribbean sunset sails with your family or friends. Waking up to a bright blue sky, warm breeze and turquoise waters.

She is a 2011 vintage yacht, not like some much older charter boats on the market. She has 3 queen sized cabins including a sumptuous master suite, 3 full baths each with its own shower, and 6 air conditioning units - one in every room with separate controls! She also sports a high capacity watermaker so you can take as many freshwater showers as you like.

Our 7 night meal and drink package gets you all of your breakfasts, 5 lunches and 3 dinners on board so you can spend some meals off the boat enjoying local restaurants, bars and grills. For 5 nights you receive all your breakfast, 3 lunches and 2 dinners aboard. Pricing includes full bar: beer, wine and liquor/cocktails.

Our crew are energetic, professionally trained culinary and hospitality industry professionals in their mid 30s. Take a look at our sample menu below to see the 5-star quality of food we serve --- we always get rave reviews on Tess' cooking!

We can meet you in St Thomas or Road Town, BVI. For St Thomas pick up there is an additional fee to cover our cost of re-importing the boat to the BVI.

Aside from provisions and crew, the inclusive rate quoted through VRBO provides fuel, fresh linens and towels, wifi internet on board (where available), satellite TV (where available) use of our dinghy, snorkel gear and paddle boards. About Chris Brooks

I took a year off work in 2014 to buy a boat and sail it across the world. Now that I am back at work in Chicago and my catamaran is safe and sound in Tortola I am sharing it with you to offset my operating expenses! If you are considering chartering a catamaran in the Caribbean, look no further - you will not see a better quality boat in a better location for this great price!

Chris Brooks purchased this yacht in 2014

Why Chris Brooks chose Tortola

Ours is a 2011 - updated with modern sleek finishes and the latest technology.

What makes this yacht unique

Full air conditioning, water maker, top chef quality food with fresh ingredients!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We cannot say enough about our trip to the BVI's. Cat-mer was a beautiful boat and very nicely appointed. Bram and Tess were great and we were very impressed with both. Bram was very skilled and so helpful with the children by taking them to land with the dingy's, etc. Tess was an incredible cook and we loved every meal.Tess uses fresh ingredients and most everything was from scratch.

We loved all of our stops and it was a good combination of the must see places(Soggy Dollar, Rhone, Bitter End, The Baths) to smaller places like Guana, Long Cove, Sandy Cay, and Peter Island. We loved the snorkeling and the sailing. I would say that overall the trip surpassed our already high expectations. Looking forward to our next trip!

Trip of lifetime! Awesome boat and awesome staff.

  • 5 of 5

This is a great boat with an exceptional staff. The moment we walked on we were told, "This is your boat. Treat it like you're at home."

Bram is a very capable and knowledgeable captain. Tess is a very good cook and host. Both have a keen sense for hospitality, yet remained casual and at ease. They listened to our needs of what kind of vacation we wanted; they took the temperature of our pace and expectations and created the perfect itinerary for our group. The cabins are lovely; quaint with nice bedding, plenty of hot water for showers and decent storage (considering you're on a boat and don't require too much luggage). The boat has plenty of "toys": snacks, drinks, wifi, TV, internet karaoke, paddle boards, snorkel gear, noodles. We were four adults (two couples) and had plenty of room. Adding a third couple is definitely fine, but we were certainly spoiled with our small group.

I regret that I'm delayed in posting this review. Sadly, the devastation from Hurricane Irma reminded me that I needed to post. It breaks my heart that so much of what we saw on our BVI excursion is now damaged. With that said, when the BVI is ready for visitors, I completely recommend to go on this boat with this staff and give the BVI all the love and support it is due! In fact, we had such a great time I would go anywhere on this boat with Bram and Tess. They are fun and worldly and seem to know a lot about many at sea destinations.

Happy Trails!

Can't wait to go again!!

  • 5 of 5

WOW!! What an amazing week we had on the Catmer!! Thank you Chris for making the booking process so easy! This trip way exceeded our expectations! Every day was great!! Bram and Tess are wonderful!! They truly took great care of us for the week! We wanted for nothing!! Bram took us to all the best snorkeling spots, beaches, islands. Every day we went to several different spots and loved them all! Tess is an amazing chef! We truly loved every single thing she made for us! We honestly enjoyed our meals more on the boat than off! We have 13 year old girl/boy twins who have now ranked this on the top of our trip list! It was great that they each had their on room and bathroom! And we slept so good the entire week! The sunshine, the gorgeous water, the beaches, the restaurants, the bars, the snorkeling, Bram and Tess...we just miss it all already! Thank you for a very memorable week!! Planning to do this again!! I just can't say enough good things about our week!

Wow, What an Amazing Trip!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for having us on your boat for an amazing vacation. The boat far exceeded our expectations and was very comfortable in size for the 6 of us. The crew (Tess and Bram) were an amazing duo and really were top-notch hosts. Bram had planned a great route for us to take during our 5 day trip and unfortunately we threw things off a bit because 2 of our guests had delayed flights and didn't get in until the second day. He was incredibly accommodating and rerouted the trip to work for the delayed guests as well. At all times we felt extremely safe and comfortable during the trip due to Bram's expert sailing skills. One of our favorite parts about the trip was not having to worry about who was going to cook the next meal. Tess not only provided our meals but they were top-notch delicious meals that were thoughtfully planned and prepared. She never seized to amaze us at every meal. Now on to the trip itself, we were able to experience incredible snorkeling every day, enjoy reading in the hammocks, dining at wonderful restaurants, and some of the best rum on the most renowned beaches. It couldn't get much better than a vacation on the Catmer with great friends and Bram and Tess. Thank you guys so much for a memorable and relaxing vacation. We look forward to coming back!

The Best Trip of Our Lives!!

  • 5 of 5

Phenomenal!!! Absolutely perfect. There are not enough words for me express how amazing this trip was and it was a direct result of Island Catamaran, Chris and the truly spectacular captain/first mate duo he chose (Tess and Bram). From the moment we started working with Chris, we knew we were in good hands - he was incredibly informative (we were first timers), responsive and willing to help create the best trip possible. When we stepped on board, we were in awe of how beautiful and well kept the boat was and the trip only got better from there. It was our first trip to the BVI and Bram and Tess went above and beyond to show us everything the islands had to offer. We made no fewer than 15 stops - Bram truly loves sailing and it showed in his willingness to take us everywhere. They took us to private beaches to snorkel and paddle board but also made sure we didn't miss the *must sees* (i.e., the baths, Anagada, Saba Rock, Soggy Dollar, snorkeling at the Indians etc.) and he ensured that we ate in the most delicious restaurants when we weren't being spoiled by Tess on the boat :) The boat itself was amazing and Chris had clearly put a lot of work into choosing his crew. Tess and Bram were an integral part of making the trip such a fun and memorable experience. Tess not only cooked us amazing meals but took such wonderful care of us that we could truly relax and not have to worry about where we were going or what we were going to do next. Bram set us up on Anagada with our scooter and made sure we were taken care of even when he wasn't around! My fiancé and I travel all over the world and this was the first trip where we got to live fully *in* every single moment we had as opposed to stressing about what came next.

Tess and Bram went out of their way to make sure my now fiancé had exactly the right moment to pop the question and had all of the makings of a fabulous celebration once he had asked! There honestly could not have been better people to celebrate our engagement with than the two of them - we came away from the trip with two fantastic new friends!!!

We plan to come sail with Island Catamaran every year with our friends and can't wait to see our favorite dynamic duo again!!!

If you are looking for the best, most fun, most thoughtfully executed sailing trip of the BVI, you would be crazy to choose anyone other than Island Catamaran!! You will have a spotlessly clean and incredibly safe home on the water with not a care in the world :)

Truly the Trip of a Lifetime!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! My family (including my husband, our two daughters, son-in-law and three grandchildren) just had the best vacation of our lives and we have traveled throughout the world! We were so excited about sailing in the BVI’s and it exceeded all expectations. First, there isn’t a better place to sail in the world than the BVI’s; the sailing and snorkeling are addictive. Second, Chris who’s the owner has worked hard to make sure that the boat is in tip-top shape with comfy beds, linens, water toys, and everything you could possibly need. And then he hired Bram and Tess, the captain and cook, and they made sure our trip was chock full of great memories. Bram is such a superb captain and we couldn’t believe the gourmet meals that Tess turned out of the galley on a daily basis – they are charming and a lot of fun. We can’t imagine seeing the BVI’s any other way than on Chris’s catamaran; it was definitely a bucket list trip and we plan on going back for a repeat performance as soon as possible.

Fantastic adventure

  • 5 of 5

Wow, our first impression of the boat was very impressive. This is a well maintained beautiful Catamaran that was very spacious and comfortable. The cabins were all quite roomy and comfortable. The seating areas on the boat were very generous as well. Meals were always served at the aft cockpit area. A generous seating area is also available on the bow, where Bram and Tess would often set up a sun shade for us.

We set sail immediately leaving the harbour for our first night aboard Cat-mer. Our previous charters stayed at the marina the first night which can be noisy and always a rush to leave in the morning, not here. We anchored in some of the most beautiful little coves I've ever seen. A couple of nights we were the only boat in the cove, very private and beautiful. The first night Bram asked us where we would like to go and what we would like to do. We achieved everything on our wish list and then more.

Another thing that set this charter apart from other charters we've been on is that Bram; our captain, actually sailed this magnificent boat. He used the motors to get us out of the cove in the morning, set the sails and then shut off the motors and we sailed away just like a sailboat should. This man can sail that boat! The boat has a furling genoa which we used most of the time, however one day Bram brought out the big guns; the gennaker sail. Bram also included us when sailing the boat, which I particulary was thrilled about, thanks Bram! A memory I'll never forget.

We went snorkelling every opportunity we could and saw some beautiful sea life including dolphins. We've never seen dolphins before while sailing, so this was a real treat. After we sailed to Anegada, we went ashore and rented some scooters and saw the island at our own pace.

The meals were were great, Tess served up some wonderful dishes. For our dinners ashore Bram didn't let us down there either, always finding a very nice restaurant. One afternoon we even went to Willy T's, a must if you are down in the BVI's. Soggy Dollar is also a popular spot to visit and then walk the amazing beach.

If you've ever been to a five star resort and enjoyed it, take that memory and experience and double it at least. This is like being at a five star resort for six people, just no comparison. We'll never go back to a resort again, just too crowded!

My only complaint...it was over too quickly, Bram and Tess made for a very memorable sailing adventure. Thanks so much, it was the best!
