About the property

Two Bedroom, One Bathroom Log House With Northern Views Of Sunrises And Sunsets.

Relax in this peaceful setting year round during your vacation or business trip just 10 minutes from the airport. This log home offers secluded hillside accommodations with a northern view with lovely sunrise colors and sunsets and maybe a moose or two. Summers are glorious and if you choose to stay home all day consider yourself lucky. On a good night you can enjoy viewing the aurora from any of the 3 decks, the living room and even the bedrooms. Our short hillside trail really gets you into the dark for viewing the Aurora Borealis, star gazing and satellite spotting. Enjoy the sauna and cook a steak on the deck at -40 below or +80 above depending on your calendar. Simply the nicest location for starting and ending every day while in Fairbanks!

You have the entire house on 2 acres to yourselves. Two couples are very comfortable in this 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom house and you can accommodate up to 6. Each bedroom has queen beds and the master includes a large closet. The bedrooms and bathroom are topside so the downstairs living, dining and kitchen are spacious. The living room has a leather couch that opens to a plush queen sized sleeper and 2 very comfortable chairs. The kitchen is cozy and pleasant, the dining table seats 6 and there are TV trays if you need to spread out. Slip out of the living room via the glass door to the viewing deck with chairs and barbeque. The big lower deck has a table and chairs, bench, chairs and a sauna for the bold during the winter. The entry area has a collection of dvds and games. There is even room to throw darts, and have refreshments at the tall bar.

This is Classic Alaskan hillside living. Welcome to Chena Ridge. Welcome home!

Why Gus Bystedt chose Alaska

We have owned this beautiful log home next to ours for many years in this hillside neighborhood. Having just completed refreshing the interior and exterior we offer this house for you to enjoy real Alaskan living. This is a beautifully decorated house which makes you feel right at home. The Chena Ridge area is beautiful all seasons of the year. You will feel very secluded and away from the town yet its only 10 minutes to all of the activities Fairbanks has to offer.

What makes this house unique

This house is so easy to relax in and enjoy your time. We have included everything expected to make you comfortable during your stay and a few extras. You can take a safe walk in the small neighborhood. Our hillside trail is a short walk for exercise and Aurora viewing and you can be back to the house in a jiffy or take it easy on any of the three decks.

Wonderful stay!

  • 5 of 5

A house full of luxury, close to Fairbanks, and nevertheless very quietly located in the woods. We had a fantastic stay here, enjoying the big though very cosy house with all the facilities you need, even for a longer stay. Everything was very clean, and extremely beautifully decorated.

We would certainly come here again!!

Perfect Alaskan cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this cabin! After 15 hours of travel, it was wonderful to relax in this homey and peaceful retreat. The wood-burning sauna was a positively perfect way to end the day! I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone visiting Fairbanks that is looking for a retreat in the woods!

Awesome Cabin

  • 5 of 5

There was not one single thing we did not like about this cabin. It is absolutely beautiful inside and outside. Would have loved to have been able to stay here for our entire fourteen days touring Alaska. It was clean, comfortable with everything needed for a very pleasant stay. It is what I envisioned an Alaskan cabin would be. We did not have the pleasure of meeting the owners but would like them to know that we enjoyed our stay so very much and would recommend this cabin to anyone. Again thank you for making our stay in Anchorage an awesome bucket list adventure.

Wonderful Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This lovely cabin is nestled in the woods with beautiful deck space. It's very clean and quaint. The owners really did not miss a thing. They provided bikes , games, a stocked kitchen with all necessities and even some pantry items! We felt safe and cared for having them close by but they were completely non intrusive. It's easy to feel at home here. The location is good! Lots of fun things to do in Fairbanks ! We used it as a home base and traveled far and wide. Our only disappointment was not being able to spend more time just enjoying the cabin! It fit our family of 3 and a friend perfectly and left us plenty of room to entertain our Alaskan relatives. We all are anxious to visit again!

This is a top notch rental in the Fairbanks area.

  • 5 of 5

The property is beautiful! The inside was immaculate and well stocked with supplies. We only had to purchase the food that we needed for our stay. The owners were friendly and helpful, while being respectful of our privacy. We would definitely come back here!

Perfect Setting

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for a beautiful setting, surrounded by trees and quiet, but minutes from Fairbanks and the airport, this is it! Sweet cabin has all the amenities but none of the pretentiousness - cozy and comfortable and just right. We will definitely make this cabin home base the next time we find ourselves in Fairbanks.
