About the property

Comfy Queen Bed With Romantic Stone Fireplace To Watch On Those Winter Nights!

This cozy studio cabin for two, sits near the back of an acre parcel next to quiet Tenas Creek, surrounded by beautiful timber, wildflowers & ferns. A BBQ, deck chairs and picnic table are outside among the summer flowers, ferns, & trees with horseshoe pits and custom cedar slab dart board for outside entertainment. The cabin has a remodeled interior of finished pine with exposed beams plus river rock fireplace and wood stove insert. Inside you will find a super comfortable queen bed with wrought iron frame, luxury linens, cozy blanket & comforter plus an electric blanket in winter too. The bathroom includes a shower with all towels & washcloths plus complimentary vegan & gluten free Arbonne shampoo, conditioner, bath soap & lotion provided. There is a kitchenette with microwave, hot plate, mini fridge, coffee maker, toaster, waffle maker plus pot, pan, utensils, and service for 2. We provide firewood for the fireplace and briquette/lighter fluid for the BBQ. We also try to keep waffle mix, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, popcorn, & dish soap on hand for you too. There are short walking trails on the property with a bridge to cross Tenas creek then another across Cooper creek to explore the native wildflowers. Within a mile there are 4 restaurants and a gift shop! All within walking distance. The Studio has a flat screen TV plus DVD player. We stocked it with a handful of movies to watch or you may bring your own. There is a CD player, a few board games, plus a few books. We have included a small pub table with two stools, plus two folding chairs. This is such a cute cabin on the inside! The row of windows above the kitchenette lets you see the tree tops & stars while cozy in your bed.

If more space is needed this property also has an additional cabin that sleeps up to 6 persons. The Totem cabin is also along Tenas creek, has a full size kitchen, 1 bedroom with Queen Log Bed, 2 full size futon's in the living room that make down into full size beds. This cabin also was remodeled in 2005 with beautiful pine interior, & river rock fireplace. Both Stepping Stone Cabins, the Totem and Tahoma, are available for rent separately or together. See our website for details. We do offer a discount if both are rented together. A third cabin with hot tub that sleeps up to 8, is available a short walk away on a separate secluded wooded parcel if additional space is needed. We also recently added a 4th cabin and it is adjacent to this property as well. The Elk Cottage sleeps up to 7. See our website for further details.

About Rick or Theresa Cooper

Rick grew up near Ashford and has a deep love for his home state. If you meet up with him he will tell you all about the cabins, the area, places to visit, and the best places to go. Theresa grew up in rural Oregon but fell in love with the Mt Rainier area. She is a great resource for best hiking or snowshoeing trails, easiest waterfalls to get to, or fantastic photo ops.

Why Rick or Theresa Cooper chose Ashford

This property is nearly an acre and is located just 1/2 mile from the gate to Mt Rainier. It is also just off the main road into the park on Murray Road. The North side of the property borders the main highway, but there is a stream that runs between the main road and cabins to effectively buffers any road noise during the summer peak season.

What makes this cabin unique

We love to stay in this cozy cabin when ever we can! Being next to a stream and back in the trees it is a super peaceful and relaxing place to get away to! Just start a fire in the fireplace and cozy up in the bed to watch a movie and you will see what we mean. We love to sit out next to the stream and watch the deer come to drink and wander thru the trees.

Not private at all.

  • 3 of 5

Disappointed in location. Too close to the road going into the park, lots of noisy cars/trucks. Fortunately the surrounding cabins had no tenants while we stayed at ours, so that was great because they are very close to each other.
