About the property

Snowmobiling, Hunting, Fishing, ATV'ing, Running, Stargazing, Relaxing, Family,

Welcome Home!

Come relax and play in the National Forest during the day and spend the evenings by the BBQ and outdoor fire pit we share with our best friends and next door neighbors. Get your feet up and your favorite drink in your hand. This is it! Closer to Heaven than most properties at 10,000 feet. Relax, your home! Breath deep and enjoy the clean mountain air!

Our listing is far from perfect and has lots of 'character'. Please understand we are not a $2 million dollar home decorated to perfection at the base of Jackson, Aspen or Steamboat Ski Resorts! Our home started life as a log hands residence. It has been remodeled and additions have been made to it adding to its charm and uniqueness.

Don't worry about the Great room addition between the garage and the home dripping water from the metal ceiling(an area once outside) on occasion once the Great room has been heated up to 75 degrees, it drips a bit, enjoy it--the flooring in the Great room is redwood--it cant hurt a thing!

Our main home features 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. It has two family rooms one on the main floor and a smaller one upstairs both with large flat screen TV's/DVD's/Play stations and Wii's and Bose surround sound.

Our favorite gathering place is our Great room with large flat screen TV/DVD full bar including full size refrigerator and sink(summer use only), bar stools, log table with seating for 8 and 2 log rocking chairs.

The gourmet kitchen features granite counter tops, stainless refrigerator, dishwasher, range, oven, microwave, seating at the kitchen bar for 2 and log kitchen table for 4.

There is sleeping in the Master bedroom for 2 in a king size log bed. Sleeping in bedroom 2 for 2 in a double bed. Sleeping in bedroom 3 for 2 in a double bed. Sleeping in bedroom 4 for 2 on a queen bed (there is also a futon in this room for 1-2).

There is a small guest cabin on our property that has the ability to sleep 3 in a log bunk bed. The guest cabin has a small kitchenette/family room. It is usually buried by snow in the winter so it is only available in the summer months. There is no heat or water to this cabin available in the winter.

There are two expansive decks for relaxing, one on the front of the home and one larger 2 level deck on the back of the home.

There is a stand alone log gazebo with log bar seating and log swing and a picnic table on the property adjacent to the fire pit.

The snowmobile trails start right out the front door as do the OHV trails and single track dirt bike trails.

We do have a hot tub but it has been drained so please dont leave feedback expressing discontent that is is not available.

About David Eldred

We are the Eldred family; David, Linda, Dawson and Lindsay. We live 90 minutes away in our States Capital city of Cheyenne Wyoming.

Our definition of success is not measured by dollars but rather by the quality time we have been afforded to spend here at out mountain home with each other and our closest friends.

My wife and I's legacy is for our children to follow us to Heaven, nothing more, nothing less. That is who we are as a family. To God be the glory!

We are very busy supporting both childrens local activities that are highlighted by soccer, basketball, golf, tennis, mountain bike racing and Choir that we have found ourselves to busy to spend as much time here as we would like! For that reason we have decided to share it with you.

We enjoy snowmobiling, skiing and snowboarding(well the kids anyways) in the winter. Big Game hunting, fishing, our UTV's and dirt bikes provide countless hours of family fun in the summer.

David Eldred purchased this cabin in 1997

Why David Eldred chose Wyoming

If you want piece and quiet, come to Wyoming. If you want peace and quiet in Wyoming come to Fox Park, come to our home.

If you want to ride, all the trails, summer and winter start right out our front door, no trailers or crowded parking lots to contend with. The national forest if right out of our gated community. Be sure to obtain the necessary Snowmobile, ATV, UTV, motorcycle, hunting and fishing licenses and permits!

What makes this cabin unique

The reason to come in the winter is to go snowmobiling or to ride Timbersleds in one of the top 5 annually ranked riding areas in the country! The terrain is available from mild trails to extreme climbs like the widow maker, deep powder, open meadows, or tight trees for the boondockers and Timbersledders. Its all within minutes from our home. No need to trailer, just get up and ride from our front door.

Summer options are endless!

Experience life at 10,000 feet above sea level! Our executive mountain home in the gated community of Fox Park is adjacent to the national forest and offers everything from hiking, fishing, on and off trail biking, atv/utvs and trails, big game hunting (elk, deer, bear, moose and sheep), fishing and star gazing to snowmobiling, show shoeing and cross county skiing all from your front door with no driving, trailering or parking your toys in crowded lots.

With in a short drive there is fishing and boating at Lake Owen, Rob Roy lake, Miller Lake, Lake Marie and the fly fishing streams; Douglas Creek, Lake Creek, Pelton Creek, Muddy Creek to name a few and countless beaver ponds.

You'll be amazed by the pitch black skies at night lit up by unimaginable shooting stars and crisp mountain air.

You can enjoy an outdoor bbq with our stainless bbq and campfire in our fire pit we share with our next door neighbor with an adjacent gazebo for shaded seating.

There are two tree houses with slides, ropes, swings and ladders for the kids and horse shoe pits for the adults.

There is direct access to the vast snowmobile and atv trail system of the national forest. There is year round access, even though we get on average 300 inches of snow in the winter.

Fox Park was an old logging community where they sent lodgepole pines down the rivers for railroad ties. One of the original mills owners son still lives in Fox Park. Tons of history! There are about 25 homes in the gated community and there are 3 year round full time households of this old logging town. It is rich in history of logging and mining for gold in the mountains streams. We know your experience will be relaxing, quiet and so enjoyable to be 100 yards from the national forest.

We will work together to offer your group an unforgettable experience.

Blessings,

Dave and Linda

Family Summer Fun

  • 5 of 5

This is our second year staying at the Eldred home for our annual family ATVing trip. We so enjoy riding straight out from the property and not having to trailer the ATVs around the mountains. We find the home very inviting with plenty of room for the family to spread out. We enjoyed our nightly family time in the great room playing games or cards or just visiting after a big day of ATVing in the mountains. We truly enjoy the area and beauty of the scenery. The Eldred's were very accomodating and made sure of family vacation at their home was memorable! Thank you for sharing your home with our family and making a lifetime of memories.

Super easy to work with

  • 5 of 5

We haven't actually stayed at the house yet, there were unforeseen circumstances that kept us from being able to stay that weekend; Dave was completely understanding and allowed us to reschedule for another weekend he had available. We are incredibly grateful and cannot wait for our trip down memory lane.

Perfect get away!

  • 5 of 5

Dave is wonderful to work with. After having some troubles with our truck on the way out, Dave went above and beyond what he had to by letting us check in early and letting us check out late. The house was perfect. We had five guys but could have had more. There is plenty of room. It's a cozy cabin feel. The neighbors are all great and really nice and make you feel welcome. This house has everything you need for a quiet getaway. I will definitely be back if they decide to keep renting this property out. I can not say enough good things of this place. If your looking to disconnect for a while this is the place for you! We were up snowmobiling and trails are right there to go anywhere. Plenty of snow! I would recommend this property to anyone.

The home was very accommodating for our family vacation and next to the ATV trails.

Overall the property and location was excellent for our needs. The only minor issue we had was with an electrical situation and a couple breakers were tripped. The owner made us aware of the situation and we just worked around it. We would definitely rent the property again.

Spacious cabin. Breathtaking views. Peaceful. Relaxing.

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in Wyoming at the Elder's cabin was incredible. It is the perfect place to get away and relax! The surrounding areas around the cabin offered great scenic views of nature. We were able to get great pics of mountain views as well as incredible pictures of wildlife. The cabin really was a "home away from home!" Perhaps our best pictures were of the bull moose that we spotted a short distance from the cabin. There were 5 in all. Being from Oklahoma, we were exstatic to see such a magnificent animal. I also took advantage of Douglass creek, not too far away, and did a little fly fishing.

The cabin provided ample room for our large party and we never get cramped. The wifi was a bonus although we really only used it to send text messages. We spent the majority of our free time enjoying the perfect summertime weather of southern Wyoming. Our home state of Oklahoma is miserable in the summer!

We took advantage of the many off road trails that were accessible.

The owners were more than helpful! They were available, by phone, to answer any questions that we may have had during our stay. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a place to get away from the world and just relax. We had the vacation of a lifetime and would not hesitate to book here again!

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

This property was exactly what we were looking for. Snowmobiling right from the front door. Easy access to snowmobile trails. Also a comfortable place to rest and relax after a long day of snowplay. A very quiet, small neighborhood right on the top of the mountain. Dave was great to work with and fast to respond to any questions or requests. Would definitely recommend!
