Dual Level Dock On Quiet No Wake Cove

About Julie & Sean M.
We purchased this home in the summer of 2015 as a weekend retreat. We absolutely love this home and want to share it with others when we are unable to get away. We love the wooded mountain feel of the home with the bonus of lake access and a dual level dock. Our home away from home lets us relax after a long work week and we want to share that relaxing feeling with others. We love making a big Sunday breakfast of eggs, bacon, and waffles and then enjoying the rest of the day on the lake. We plan to retire here once our kids are out of school. We hope you will enjoy your stay as much as we do!

Why Julie & Sean M. chose Gainesville
We chose this home because of its location on Lake Lanier and the bonus of a mountain wooded setting. It is close enough by water to the craziness of the southern part of the lake, yet the main part of the lake outside our cove has calm water, great for tubing, skiing, and cruising in our boat. The cove our home is located in is a no wake zone great for relaxing on a float, fishing, sunbathing, swimming, or peddle boating. It is perfect for travelers wanting a rustic, relaxing feel with the bonus of lake access. It is our happy place and we want others to enjoy that feeling as well.
What makes this House unique
Our quaint home looks small from the outside, but once you step inside you will see why we fell in love with this home. The floors are Italian tile throughout the bedrooms and main living areas. The media room has hardwood laminate with a gorgeous limestone wall. There is a very unique wine bar with custom rot iron doors upstairs in the kitchen/living area. We have a large 16' x 20' screened in porch with dry below ceiling to enjoy the outdoors in rainy weather with a 16' x 20' deck above to enjoy in nicer weather. The gentle walk to the lake through the woods is easy and relaxing. Once at the lake, the quiet no wake cove is great for swimming, floating, peddle boating, sunbathing, and fishing.

Peaceful quiet neighborhood, beautiful home and comfortable amenities. Julie was there when we checked in and showed us around. We had a lot of rain so she came back later in the week to check the dock and notified us before she came and was very respectful to our space. Would highly recommend this place! 4 adults and a toddler and we had plenty of extra space.
Great vacation spot that we will definitely come back and visit
We simply adored our visit here and wish we could have stayed longer! We attended some wedding events nearby and the weather turned too cold and rainy on us to truly enjoy the water feature of the house.
However, we DID take several walks down to the water. It's not un-doable for the physically able. We did only let our senior dog do about half of the walk. It gets a little steep and the steps at the end could be daunting for the less able. But SUCH an amazing dock and cove!! When the weather cleared for us, my son was able to take the paddle boat out for a quick tour of the cove.
The house itself had everything you could imagine! Granted we were just there for a short weekend, I could totally see myself being there for a week and never getting bored! It was also stocked with some essentials (ie coffee, etc) that some houses don't provide!
Julie, the owner, greeted us and gave us a quick tour. We loved how the house had a cool layout where you just kept finding doors!
The only advice I would give people with small children (or senior dogs, like I had) is to bring baby gates for the stairs. Who knows, Julie may have even had them and I just didn't see them! The top of the stairs has a door, but the bottom is an open area. We used our kennel gates and had no problem.
The bedroom set up was really neat. The ability to turn the one bedroom into a king would totally come in handy if we had more family with us. The fact that the mattress were WAY more comfortable than other houses we'd stayed in was a definite plus! Even my 16 year old son commented he loved the king bed downstairs!
After reading all the reviews, I will add my two cents about the roads and driveway... Having family in the foothills in Atlanta fully prepared me for the final road to the house and the driveway. It is a lot of quick curves and pretty steep areas. However, I'm not scared of driving them and I wasn't there when there was the possibility of a freeze. I have a V6 Venza and we were JUST fine traveling the roads. I wouldn't want to drive them in freezing rain, but for regular weather (even cold and wet) it was nothing new for us. It shouldn't deter you from renting this fun place!!
Our April Reunion
The cabin was perfect. The owner Julie met with us on our arrival to make sure we knew the ins and outs of the cabin to make the most of our stay. Will try another Vrbo home rental again
Very nice accommodations!
Very nice. Comfortable and well equipped. Well maintained. Just one note: Master bedroom is NOT connected to master bath. Not an issue for us but maybe something to be aware of. Owners/hosts great to work with.
Lovely house, clean and a kitchen stocked very well. Julie was an excellent host.
Comfortable and relaxing
We really enjoyed our stay. It was a busy trip, but at the end of the day, we had somewhere relaxing to come home to. Our grandsons enjoyed fishing off the dock and even caught a fish ! Thank you for sharing your lake cottage with us.
