This Cabin Has Something for Everyone!
About Ryan Herman
My wife and I married in 2002 and now have three children. We purchased this cabin in 2015. We have found that the cabin has been a wonderful place for us to slow the pace of life down and reconnect with each other and spend quality time with the kids.

Why Ryan Herman chose New Albin
Clear Creek Cabin adjoins our family farm. We enjoy all the cabin has to offer as much as we can, but our work and children's activities don't allow us to be there as much as we would like to stay. This is great for you! We decided to share the relaxing cabin with its rustic good looks and the natural splendor of the Driftless Area with you .
What makes this Cabin unique
We think you will fall in love with the authentic hand built log cabin with its stone walk and porch overlooking the pond (REDONE IN 2017 TO A FULL 9 FEET OF DEPTH) just as we have fallen in love with it. It is hard to explain the feeling you get by being in this place. But, whether you are looking to relax, have fun or enjoy nature you will find it here.

3rd time, love location
Thanks for staying for your 3rd time. Glad you and your group enjoy it!
Comfortable amid a beautiful setting.
Wonderful to sit together with family at the large dining table. Plenty of room to sit in the living room as well. The owner was very pleasant and easy to communicate with. I would suggest updating the dishwasher and coffee pot as they didn’t work very well, but the kitchen had everything we needed. The little lake was pretty and the trees glorious with color. We enjoyed a fire in the fire pit every evening. The geology of the driftless area is fascinating. There were ten of us.
Thank you again for staying! I'm glad you enjoyed our more recent updates like the large, hardwood dining table and the redone swimming/fishing pond. As I replied in our personal correspondence, I will take a look at the coffee pot today and I plan on replacing the dishwasher as soon as it is possible. I am glad your group had a good time.
Enjoyable time had by all !
Great scenery and accommodations and family would like to come back next year, except for the " aggravating sump pump noise " !
I am so sorry the pump was too noisy for you. We had a quick 3" rain prior to your arrival. I could have turned off the pump for the couple days you stayed. Please contact me shortly after your arrival next time with any issues you may have such as this. I am more than happy to rectify such situations. I want happy guests! I am glad you enjoyed the rest of your stay.
We had lots of fun swimming and fishing on the lake. The cabin had everything we needed and we had a great time.
Great! Thank you for staying!
Great Place for a Family Get-a-Way
We were looking for a secluded spot to take our family where we could just hang out and get away. This place is awesome for that! It is secluded and the swimming area is great for the kids! It is an old, old house (we like rustic), but it is well maintained. The owner is easy to communicate with and will be there to take care of any problem you might have. All in all a great spot!
Thanks for staying at our "relax in seclusion" spot!
Our family of 6 adults and 5 children ages 9 to 1 had an enjoyable weekend. Kids loved the water, kayaks and diving off the dock. Cabin is very accommodating and comfortable. Quiet and serene location. This was our second stay and will probably be back next year.
Thanks for coming again this year. I appreciate it! Hope to see you all again next year!
