Tired of working and would like to enjoy a relaxing sailing vacation? You’ve been to USVI and BVI and would like to discover a new exotic paradise to sail, Belize is the place for you. Belize is a small country in northern Central America, south of Mexico and east of Guatemala. One of its most astonishing attribute, making this destination spectacular for a Belizean cruising vacation, is the Belize Barrier Reef that stretches down along most of the Belizean coast. The reef shelters more than 400 islands and cays.

Northern Belize offers great diving, snorkeling, and beautiful islands to explore along with the local culture and nightlife of Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker. The southern portion of Belize offers the same great sailing and diving with more of a remote or off the beaten path experience and no big towns. All the islands are close together and sheltered behind the reef making sailing a safe, relaxing, and pleasureful experience. During your stay you will discover the idyllic beaches and the numerous coral reefs. Belize is a tropical paradise for both scuba diving and snorkeling. enjoying nature, and relaxing in luxurious hideaways. Here in Belize the natural beauty is amazing, the stars shine brightly, and the people are friendly.

You will arrived at Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport and we will meet you in Belize City.

Migrateur is a 2001 43' Catana 431 catamaran. She is designed for chartering and ocean crossing. It is faster than the majority of the catamarans of the same size (can do 10 knots and more). It is well maintained and very clean. The breadth of 24' makes it very stable in all sea conditions and offers a large cockpit with plenty of living space. The trampoline is a great place to relax or sunbathe. The large bedrooms have queen size beds and plenty of storage space. She is equipped with all the necessary amenities to make your vacation comfortable, water maker, CD and Ipod connection, fishing gear, snorkel gear and so much more. We have two cabins for the guests in one pontoon and one in the other pontoon. All the cabins have queen size beds (the front berths are smaller at the feet). You will benefit from amicable personal service that you will not find from large charter companies with boats catering to 8-10 people. Migrateur can accommodate 3 couples or 6 guests very comfortably.

Personalized Vacation and Private Cruise

Your vacation on board the Migrateur starts with a personalized timetable. You determine, with the help of the skipper, the route you wish to navigate. In accordance with your predicted time of arrival, you may choose to get an early start or decide to enjoy the comfort of your amenities and relax. And again, you may decide to stay at anchor and take the day to visit. The captain will gladly share his experiences with you in regards to the sites to see, the shopping area and his favorite dining facilities. Most of the islands are close to each other, sailing from a favorite anchorage to another can usually be done within 1 to 3 hours. You may choose to participate with sailing maneuvers. Depending on your sailing experience and after receiving a demonstration of the Migrateur’s own characteristics you may be given the complete task of sailing for the day. The skipper will supervise and make recommendations when necessary. You may choose to stay in a region and adapt your sailing excursions in accordance to your mood and the weather. The captain will be happy to answer any of your questions. The captain can also be discreet and respect your privacy, according to your wishes.

Migrateur offers comfort and presents the advantage of heeling slightly even in strong wind; contrary to sailboats, it is stable. The trade winds blow steadily between 10 and 20 knots and with over 30 islands to explore you can choose between long relaxing sails and short hops.

It’s your holiday, choose the activities that pleases you. From sunbathing, reading, chilling on the trampoline at night while enjoying your favorite drink to hiking, sailing, swimming, fishing, snorkeling, the list of activities is very broad.

We offer two chartering options.

About Rejean (Reg) Lavallee

My name is Rejean, my friends call me Reg, I’m Canadian. I’ve been boating for at least 25 years. Sailing in the Caribbean has been a dream for most of my life. I bought the boat in 2010 and have been sailing and chartering between BVI and Grenada ever since. This year we plan to go further north and explore the Bahamas.

Safe sailing starts with a well maintained boat and adequate knowledge of the sea and your boat. My auto mechanic experience along with my teaching career (Trade courses, Geography, Computer Technology, etc) have given me the necessary skills to maintain my boat in pestine condition and to sail the Caribbeans without mishaps. I have completed all the sailing and navigation courses offered in Canada.

My aim is to make your cruising holiday the most memorable experience of your lifetime.

Shanique is the hostess and 1st mate on Migrateur. She was born in Jamaica and lived over 10 years in Antigua. She acquired her cooking experience from her father who is a highly qualified chef who completed his training in the United States. She also worked as an assistant chef in a local restaurant. She can prepare local and exotic meals. She is very sociable and will make you feel at home.

Rejean (Reg) Lavallee purchased this yacht in 2010

Why Rejean (Reg) Lavallee chose Saint Georges

I bought the boat in St Martin in 2010 after a long research for the ideal catamaran. I chose the Catana 431 for her superior workmanship, reliability and maneuverability. All the maneuvers are done within the cockpit. Catana catamarans are the envy of most boat owners. They handle well in all sea conditions and are faster than most. The daggerboards allow you to sail closehauled in most sea conditions and will allow you to keep a more direct route.

What better way to see a multitude of picturesque islands in one holiday.

What better way to see a multitude of picturesque islands in one holiday.

What makes this yacht unique

Being on your own private floating island offers many benefits. It’s always nice to escape the cold winter and enjoy the warmth of the Caribbean. On land it may get too warm during the day. On the boat you will enjoy the continual cool breeze of the trade winds. Thanks to the reliable Trade Winds you will enjoy chilling outside at night because there are very few bugs on the boat. All our cabins are equipped with fans and very large port lights that let the cool ocean air to blow through. AC is not necessary, although you may chose to spend the night in a marina and enjoy the air condition. If sailing is your main passion you will enjoy the exeptionnal sailing qualities of the boat. Our crew is commited to making your sailing holiday a memorable adventure of a lifetime.

Rejean and shanique were the most welcoming hosts you could ever hope for. From beginning to end this was beyond our expectations. Rejean's sailing knowledge is beyond reproach. Shanique served amazing meals and is so much fun to be around. We truly left as new friends. You have found the perfect sailing charter with memorable sailing. We hope Rejean and shanique will have us back again for another fantastic voyage. Thank you so much.

Owner's Response: What a great couple We thank you for coming, we had as much fun as you had. We enjoyed your easy going personalities, your humour and your appreciation for the beautiful secret places we discovered together in the Grenadines. If everything goes as planned, we should meet again in Panama. Reg and Shanique

Not a luxury holiday

  • 1 of 5

We spent about 10 days aboard this catamaran. We were two adults and two kids aged 7 and 4 in two cabins. The other two cabins are effectively the captain's home, where he has lived with his hostess partner for many years. There was no agreement in writing (which caused unpleasant misunderstandings) and all payments had to be made cash (btw, it is not easy to travel from Europe with so much cash!). No tax receipt was given for the payments made. The overall daily cost turned out to be much much higher than the low cost indicated on homeaways.

Overall it was not a nice experience and was not worth the price. The boat is very basic, is more than 20 years old and has never been refit. Cabins are very small, there is no AC and the only toilet available for guests is manual. Certainly not a luxury holiday and not a professional crew. Although we are boat owners ourselves and love sailing, the sailing on this old boat made us all seasick. Not recommended.

Owner's Response: We are sorry that you feel disappointed. You had chosen the Captain Only option and not the All Inclusive. We agreed on a lower rate and added that we would do our share when it comes to preparing the meals. We prepared 6 suppers, one breakfast and 2 lunches. We expected you to prepare the meals for the remaining of the trip. You chose to eat at restaurants instead of doing your share as explained in the information relating to the Captain Only option. I charged you extra to cover the expenses for the added service you received. You expected to receive the All Inclusive service without paying for it. You also forget the other services that I provided to you and your family. We sailed overnight when we left St Lucia so your children would not have to experience a long sailing trip to the Grenadines. We also prepared an elaborate Christmas meal so you and your family could enjoy the festivity. We were at your service during the duration of the cruise. The boat is 16 years old and is well maintained and clean. The boat was recently surveyed and was evaluated at being well above average. To my honest knowledge no one was seasick during the trip. You did not mention anything negative during the whole trip except when I gave you the extra bill for the service and the meals you received. I suggest you consider the All Inclusive option for your next sailing holiday.

Fantastic trip through the Southern Caribean

  • 5 of 5

We stayed and sailed on Migratuer for 2 and a half weeks in late November. It was a great experience. Reg knows a lot about sailing and the best places and anchorages and is a very competent and safe captain as well as good fun. Shanique was a fantastic cook and provided us with great food. She is also very happy positive person full of fun .with lots of local knowledge. The boat was clean modern and very comfortable. We felt very lucky to have found them . We loved Union island, Bequia and of course the stunning Tobago cays.

What a nice sailing experience!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful sailing trip we had on the Migrateur in May 2014 in Antigua-Barbuda. The boat is stable and very comfortable. It has a nice kitchen to cook at sea level, and you can relax on the deck with cool drinks. Captain Rejean is very nice, hospitable, and respects our intimacy. We have learned sailing tips with him, and he was always flexible with the itinerary. We have had wonderful swimming and snorkeling side trips in a beautiful setting, nice meals and discussions, great hikes on islands, and relax nights at the rhythm of the waves. We have unforgettable memories of this experience and we hope to do it again soon! We strongly recommend this sailing experience.

A memorable holiday!

  • 5 of 5

Our first sailing experience was aboard the Migrateur. We loved our

first 2 week holiday so much in Feb. 2012, we returned 2 years later

and plan to go again soon. The Catina Catamaran is quite comfortable

and we appreciated how stable it was next to anchored sailboats. We

met another couple on board and quickly became friends; we even

planned our following sailing holiday with them. We all enjoyed

planning, shopping and preparing meals together, a very social,

relaxed atmosphere with our very able, friendly Captain Réjean. We set

our own itinerary and activities but were very flexible. Fabulous

weather, swimming, snorkeling, hiking, kitesurfing, dining out and

just chilling, with lots of laughter! Captain Réjean is a very patient

and supporting instructor; he sets beginners at ease. Very friendly

with his guests, he also respects their privacy. We strongly recommend

this unique sailing experience for you- totally worth it and
