The Loft in Albert Park is a furnished studio apartment steps away from the heart of Albert Park village and with easy access to central Melbourne and the beach. The Loft has a comfortable queen size bed, reading lights and built-in wardrobe. The ensuite bathroom includes a shower, toilet, sink, heated towel rack and washing machine. All bedding and towels are provided. The well supplied kitchen area has a fridge, benchtop oven with burner, microwave, kettle, toaster, large electric skillet, cookware, cutting boards, glasses, coffee mugs, crockery, cutlery, and cooking utensils. The Loft also has an expandable dining table with two chairs, two more chairs, a work area, two closets, double doors to exterior with security screens, five skylights, two ceiling fans and several cupboards for storing personal items. All skylights can be opened and have fly screens and blinds. The Loft also has air conditioning and heating. The Loft is the entire first floor (American second floor) of a detached double garage with private access from the rear of the property. The owners live in a house on the property separated from the garage by a decked courtyard. The owners are available to provide information and assistance as needed.

Great location, great hosts, well priced

We stayed for 2 weeks in the loft. It served as a home base to explore Melbourne, and its suburbs but also provided easy access to other nearby regions. Carole provided us with tips and information, even before we left for Australia. While the loft is small, it is well designed to function well, is kept very clean (sheets and towels were washed and cleaning done after the first week), and has all the necessary amenities, including the use of the garage. Transit, shops, cafes and the beach are truly nearby, with the CBD easily accessible on transit or 30 minutes away by foot. We totally enjoyed Melbourne and believe we could not have found a more perfect place to stay. Very highly recommended.

Forth stay, same quality

Before I arrived back in The Loft, i was was already getting excited about arriving back here: the warm welcomes from the owners Carole and Martin, the quality of the appartment's facilities, it's cleanliness, its closeness to the City.

And it was indeed as I imagined. It was all still here, including the feeling of a home away from home. And the six weeks just flew past. I was also somewhat sorry to return to Germany but the knowledge of returning here next year makes me smile.

Thanks again for having me here. And I look forward to our next hello in person.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Loft for 4 nights in September,2016. It was ideal for my husband and I - meticulously clean with skylights bringing in the natural light and fresh air. It was terrific to have a wash machine and the small but very functional kitchen. The location allowed us easy access to the trams, wonderful local restaurants and an easy walk to the beach. Although we spent most of our days in Melbourne it was very nice to escape to this quiet apartment. Many thanks to Carole, our hostess, for an incredible stay!!

Cute loft in quiet neighbourhood

My sister and I stayed in this loft in Albert Park of Melbourne. It was just what we needed. The loft was decently sized and very clean. It came with a small kitchen, which was an asset. Located in a nice and quiet area with cute little shops to look at and some great brunch spots.

Additionally, we were only a 1 minute walk from the tram, which took us into downtown in under 20 minutes morning and evening. Overall this was a great location and we would stay here again. It is nice to be so close to the CBD, but far enough away that there was no noise to disturb our sleep. There is no comparable accommodations for this price as well. For Melbourne, this is quite affordable.

As for the hosts, they were extremely helpful. They provide us with many recommendations and assisted with all directions when we rented a car to go out to Philip Island and the Great Ocean Road.

They were very approachable and willing to help with anything. This visit was such a pleasure and exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend staying here.

One thing we did not realize is that the price was in USD, which was not overly a huge problem, but a surprise.

Charming, cozy and private oasis in convenient location

My stay at this loft was perfection. The private apartment had everything one could possibly need. It was clean, comfortable, well designed, and a zen-like oasis - truly a home away from home. The owner was exceedingly thoughtful, pleasant and fair. You can hop on a tram about a block away and get right downtown, stroll to a selection of restaurants, or walk to the beach. I would highly recommend this listing to only my favourite friends and relatives.

Another perfect stay in The Loft

Well, after 18 months away from good old Melbourne, I had again the pleasure to stay for a month in The Loft.

It was like I remembered: Familiar in its quality comfort, the friendliness of the owners Carole and Martin, the central location in Melbourne where the City is still a 13 Minutes tram ride away. And still remembered also by my friends to come to visit me here.

But it seems the secret of this fabulous hideaway is no longer hidden; I can tell by the months of occupancy of being booked. Good for Carol and Martin, I am sure of that and rightly deserved.

My planning to come back here in around 12 months time will be starting soon; I want to stay here in the years to come. Nowhere else! See you both in an eye blink.

The Loft is conveniently located a very short walk (about one minute) from the heart of Albert Park village. This bayside village is popular for its many cafes, restaurants, shops and its easy tram access to Melbourne's city centre. Everything you might possibly need is within easy walking distance of the Loft.

In addition to its many cafes and restaurants, the village has grocery stores, clothing boutiques, day spas, pharmacies, an ice cream shop, ATMs, a hardware store, newsagent, hair stylists and more. St Vincent Gardens is a short stroll from the village centre. Albert Park Lake with its five kilometre walking/jogging/cycling path is a 15 minutes walk from the Loft. Albert Park is also home to the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre, a golf course and driving range, and is the venue for the Australian Grand Prix.

South Melbourne Market, Melbourne's oldest continuously operating market, is a 15 minutes walk from the Loft. The Market has wonderful fresh produce, fish, meats and delis, restaurants, flowers, clothing and more.

The Albert Park beach is a ten minutes walk from the Loft. From there you can walk, jog or cycle along the foreshore path to St Kilda and beyond (to the south) or Port Melbourne (to the north). Bicycles are available at the Melbourne Bike Share station in the village and other locations throughout the Melbourne area.

When you are ready to to into the City, you have a choice of three tram lines, each of which will take you to the City in 15 to 20 minutes. The Number 1 tram line is a one minute walk from the Loft and travels to the City via the Arts Centre precinct, Flinders Street Station and Federation Square. It goes on past Melbourne Central, the State Library, RMIT and Melbourne University to Lygon Street in Carlton. The Number 96 light rail tram line is a seven minutes walk from the Loft and heads to the City via Crown Casino and Southern Cross Station and then travels down Bourke Street through the Bourke Street Mall to Parliament House and on to the Carlton Gardens, the World Heritage Royal Exhibition Building and Melbourne Museum. The Number 12 tram line runs to the City via Clarendon Street in South Melbourne and Crown Casino then travels down Collins Street through the City and on to Brunswick Street in Fitzroy. From Albert Park, both the 96 and 12 tram lines travel in the other direction to St Kilda.

Although a car is not necessary, free on street parking is available near the Loft.
