Not lgbtq friendly
The price for one bed for one night which accommodates 2 people by the way was 150 a night and the amount of people that were staying was 2 and we were charged for 2 beds because were to guys and apparently If we were two girls the same rule would apply so if you plan on stay with your loved one and you’re a lgbtq couple I’d advise you don’t book this place
As I explained to you when you arrived, I do not assume any type of sexual preferences, but charge according to the number of beds to be used. And one night on a weekend is $150 per night per bed, not $100. I have had 2 sisters stay and charged them for 2 beds, mother and daughter, same thing, 3 guys, 3 beds. This is to prevent abuse of the actual number of beds used. If we were not lgbtq friendly, I wouldn't have let you stay. Instead, I explained the rates BEFORE you paid when you arrived and even agreed to discount the overall rate for you. It was your choice to stay or go elsewhere and you chose to stay, even with your home being only 15 minutes away.
It was a very nice stay
it was so homey. had a great time
very nice. was very well kept. really liker having all the nice TV's, property was very well kept.. there was every thing there you would need. the fishing was great. big fish. we let them all go. was really was worth the money.
Wow so glad we came across this spectacular and important property to spend a few nights in. Everything was as described here in the listing EXCEPT for 2 things 1) The historical importance of this home made for a fascinating stay and glimpse into civil war era life (though of course with modern plumbing, kitchen, and critical air conditioning); and, 2) How gorgeous and relaxing the property is can't be described in pictures or words. Very much enjoyed early morning strolls through the woods among the tall pines on the well laid out trails.
Pat is an excellent host. I wish we had made plans to stay longer.
I hope you can find time to come back and stay longer!
2nd time visiting and the place is fantastic. Peaceful setting!
Can't wait to have you a third time!!
Would Not Recommend Staying Here
Would not recommend staying here. The check-in process was difficult, frustrating, and time consuming, especially after a long drive.
We asked for a refund for a safety concern and the owner stated he would refund 1/2 If we would cancel and he could get someone to book the available days, which were the following two days and highly unlikely to be booked in that time. We did not stay here due to the safety concern, but the owner kept our money as he stated someone else might have booked the nights instead.
To address your concerns I would first state that our check-in process only consists of coming to the office and picking up the key and rules for the cabin. It is my understanding that you somehow got lost which took up your time. Your safety concern was that there were bees around the house. I pointed out to you that the bee you saw was a carpenter bee that does not sting and is usually evident around wood homes. Since you refused to cancel your reservation so I could have the opportunity to rent to others, I had to charge you full price because the dates were reserved for you. I'm sorry you feel this is unfair.
The best thing about our location is that there is a whole lot of nothing to do. Just sit back or hike and relax. There are nearby restaurants, museums, nightlife, wineries and shopping if you get 'cabin fever.'
