About Jan Nores & Johnny Kemick

Jan & Johnny have created this magical place in the sun, pouring love and energy in to their Puako home!

The creative process goes on as we find more ways to enhance the property and look forward to everyone's' feedback on ways to improve your experience.

Jan Nores & Johnny Kemick purchased this house in 2013

Why Jan Nores & Johnny Kemick chose Kohala Coast

Puako Pau Hana is a home, you will feel the attention to detail, clean and comfortable! Listen to the sounds of the ocean as you fall asleep and the trade winds toss the palm fronds! Relax after a day of exploring the island, on the covered lanai, que up the grill and kick back with a cool drink, aaah, this is what it is all about!

We love to walk to the waters edge, take a dip, watch the sun set, in the morning watch the sun rise over the mountains, gaze across the open land to majestic Mauna Kea! It is convenient to all the resorts, but supremely quiet and private.

Petroglyph park at the Mauna Lani resort is with in walking distance. The Top Ten in the world beaches, Mauna Kea Resort and Hapuna Beach are within 4 miles, along with world class diving, golf and tennis!

We fell in love with Puako and find it to be the best place to be on the planet, nothing compares to the friendliest neighborhood feel of Puako... ride a bike, walk to the General Store, stroll in the evening to watch sunsets that will be forever in your mind & memory!

We meet people everyday, that have been coming to Puako your decades with their families, there is such a great small world feel to being here. We always feel safe and our neighbors are the best!

What makes this house unique

Located in Puako, the best diving and snorkeling on the Island!

You can hear the ocean, feel trade winds and know you are in Hawaii!

The General Store is well stocked for most of your needs.

Safe & friendly neighborhood, great place to walk and ride bikes.

Walk along the beach path and in 10 minutes you are at the Orchid Hotel for lunch, dinner or pupus!

Puako is the place everyone wants to come back to!

A slice of Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Truly a small slice of Paradise. Jan & Johnny are warm, friendly & welcoming. Although our vacation was cut short due to an emergency at home, we however, in our time at Puako had a very relaxing time. We visited a different beach everyday to enjoy the magnificent sunsets. Our days were spent wandering the Island enjoying delicious food, fine wines and delightful scenery.

The beachside bungalow was all and more that we would ever need. A cool oasis when the temperatures were soaring outside, cool tiled interior, welcoming settees and a big day bed on the Lanai for the afternoon snooze.

Thanks guys, we look forward to coming back soon.

We loved staying in Puako Pau Hana. The outdoor space is wonderful, everything you need inside as well. The location is great for exploring the Kona side of the Big Island. A great snorkeling location right down the street!

A Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

Well located, Puako Pau Hana is comfortable. This was our first time staying here but, immediately, it felt like 'home'. The floor plan, the furniture, the lanai, bright rooms.... and,.... wait for it.... the beach access is across the street!! Whale watching? Got it. Counting turtles? (At a safe distance)? Got it! Amazing sunsets? Check! Stargazing? Check. The Puako General Store - close by. Shopping and fine dining - not too far away. Easy access to the highway for those day trips? Check. Peaceful and comfortable - a home away from home. Mahalo J & J

A very comfortable home that accomadated all our needs and was well equipped.

  • 5 of 5

We were greeted by the owners of the home in a friendly island style of Aloha! They were very informative of all the aspects of the home as they provided a tour throughout the home pointing out all the details of the home and how things worked. On the dining room table we were provided with a large bowl of fresh fruit that was delightful. Prior to our arrival we were also sent a very complete guide to things to do locally and it was also printed and available at the the house when we arrived. We found the location of the home in a great spot for all the things we wanted to do on our trip to the Big Island. We were so close to the beach we enjoyed the very short walk there and were able to take in beautiful sun rises and sun sets.
