About Bonnie Olesko

Bonnie Olesko moved to this magical island in the 70's from Portland Oregon. "Something about this island just felt like home, right from the beginning" - Bonnie. For the last 40 years Bonnie has made a significant presence on this little island. She is known for her musical talents and gracious charm.

Bonnie Olesko purchased this cabin in 1990

Why Bonnie Olesko chose Lasqueti Island

An off -grid vacation experience like none other!

Waking up on the farm in the summer, with the light coming through the mist circles down the ridge.

Hear the roosters crow, the smell of the sea and the sunshine filter through the poplar trees.

It is a truly peaceful place to unwind, learn about off-grid living and farm fare.

What makes this cabin unique

Magic! With hiking trails, an untouched marine park with amazing swimming within a 10 minute walk, lots of farm critters and totally off-grid. This relaxing and fun farm is about really getting away from it all.

Wine on the deck in the evenings, feed the sheep, collect fresh at the goats!

Lots of beauty, no power lines, no peace and quiet.

Summer Vacation on Lasqueti

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Mystic Ridge and it was the high point of our vacation! So many wonderful moments from the time we arrived...the fun afternoon at the Firefighters Picnic, swimming at Squitty Bay, the lovely peaceful surroundings, a great pair of boots from the Free Store, the delectable treats at the Farm Stand, amazing meals, and truly the best hosts in Bonnie and Anna. We only wish we could have stayed longer!! We are already planning when we can go back. Pam, John and Lucy

We loved the rustic chic suits.

  • 4 of 5

It is a beautiful property and close to stunning walks in the nature reserve. Bonnie and Anna are wonderful hosts and my daughter loved her horse riding lessons. We could walk to the road stall for delicious cakes and cookies!

my first off grid experience

  • 4 of 5

Our family stayed for 5 nights in this magic island. I am surprise there were no review while I booked this vacation. My husband and two teens with our cat and dog had wonderful trip. Bonnie is a warm and lively host, and will consistently go out of her way to accommodate you and ferry you to various points all over the island. The barnyard building itself is lovingly rustic, and is situated in the midst of nowhere almost; magical. A paved forest path connects the entire island, and the place is almost like out of a storybook. If you like being in the company of animals, this farm has plenty of it! And, Bonnie also offers horse-riding lessons; both the instructor and the horse itself are of exceptional temperament and training and expertise. I highly recommend this island property to anyone looking for an off-the-grid experience, or even just a rustic or pleasant getaway.
