The home was perfect. I became very impressed when I found a coffee grinder. The place was comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed the birds and geckos. The neighbors roosters awakened us early but we were okay with this since we were still on mainland time we highly recommend staying at this rental.

Amazing property and amazing stay!
The house is meticulously cared for and very well maintained! It was incredibly clean with a lot of thoughtful/useful touches throughout. The furniture was comfortable, especially the recliner in the living room! The sunset from the back porch and hot tub is absolutely amazing. Our favorite part of every day was sitting out back with a pina colada and watching the sun go down. The location is great. It’s away from the hassle of downtown Kona, so it feels wonderful to get away from all that and have a quiet neighborhood for the evenings and overnight. It’s also just a quick 10 min drive to downtown where you can enjoy beaches, shops and restaurants, so it’s really convenient to get around. The owner, Judy, was super friendly, very communicative and helpful. She quickly answered my questions leading up to our stay and went out of her way to accommodate a shift in our dates a few months prior. The caretaker, Mike, is super knowledgeable about the area and the property. He was really friendly and thoughtful in our interactions with him. It’s obvious he cares deeply about the guest experience! I honestly have nothing negative to say about our experience! We loved staying at Judy’s house and would absolutely stay here again!

House in Kona
The owner has a beautiful, 2 bedroom, 2 bath home with a huge lanai overlooking the ocean. The house is only 10 miles from the airport and has easy access to the main highways, grocery stores, etc - it's an ideal location. There is a gas grill on the lanai - which made for great dinners to enjoy. The yard was beautiful with a variety of fruits and gorgeous plants. Mike, the caretaker who lives onsite near the property, was wonderful! He was a wealth of information when we asked him questions about touring the island etc. Also, when we had any issues with the house i.e. help with the tv etc. - he was readily available and a tremendous help!! The reason for the 4 star rating vs. 5 is that this house has no AC. The temps were consistently in the mid-80's and when we returned from touring the island, usually around 4 - the inside of the house was so hot - it was extremely uncomfortable for us. We stayed outside on the lanai as much as we could. While there were ceiling fans they didn't provide much relief. I had read in previous reviews about there being no AC - but figured there would be enough breeze to accommodate the lack of AC but not the case.. We were pretty uncomfortable every night until around 3 a.m. when it would cool down a bit. I, like other reviewers, would suggest the owner get a couple AC's that can be placed over the window in each bedroom (that way an outside air conditioner doesn't obstruct the views from the bedroom - which are really great views). It would have made our stay so more enjoyable. One other comment I would make is, that in the evening at times we wanted to eat inside to watch tv . When we came inside - there were 4 of us - there wasn't a place for us to all sit together. A couple people sat on the couch in the living room and a couple others at a very small table in the kitchen. The kitchen is very spacious and beautiful - so it would have been great to have a table (counter height or regular) to accommodate at least 4-6 people. Again, the house and location were outstanding but during our visit, which sounds like it was the hottest time of the year, it would have helped us tremendously to have AC.

Family Getaway
We spent two weeks at this property as a getaway for our young family. The lanai was amazing as a gathering space, place to eat, and spot to watch sunsets. Our two kids under five loved having the back lawn to run around on. The unit had everything needed for cooking meals, enjoying the beach, and even snorkeling. The onsite property manager was very helpful when needed but always respected our privacy. Our only criticism, if we were looking for one, is that the bed and pillows were a bit soft for our liking but that's a very personal preference. We wouldn't hesitate recommending this to others!

This home is completely furnished along with beach towels, mats, hats and some snorkeling and boards. Also the kitchen is stocked in the pantry with supplies, 'ie spices, cooking oils and other stored goods. Refrigerator has condiments and staples that you can use if desired. Barbecue on lanai and hot tub.

What makes this property unique

Close to beach. Close to grocery stores and shopping. Main town, Kailua-Kona is very close to house. Home is in upstanding sub-division with wonderful amentities, Corner lot with lawn. Feed the wild birds from your lanai.
