About John and Dianne Purifoy

We live in the Inner Banks of N.C. on the Pamlico River near Belhaven, N.C. We love going from the coast to the mountains for a change of scenery. We love sailing, paddle boarding and kayaking. We also enjoy the beautiful walks at the condo and all the different places to go.

Because you can be in Blowing Rock in 20 to 25 mins, in Boone in 20 mins, Banner Elk in 15 min, Linville in 25 mins and Beech Mountain in 25 mins. You can't find a better centrally located location in a beautiful setting! Also, Otter Falls hike is just 1/2 mile up the road, zip lining and snow tubing is a little over a mile up the road, and Grandfather Winery is about a quarter mile to the left on 105 towards Boone. Beautiful view, great price.

  • 3 of 5

Condo was perfect for what we needed it for which was basically a place to sleep. It is dated and needs some upkeep. Most of the windows are missing their crank lever so you could not adjust them. Overall it was fine for our needs.

Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We were aware of problems with the windows. There was suppose to be a temporary fix. They are shortly to be either repaired or replaced. I apologize for the inconvenience. Not sure what you mean by needs some upkeep. We like feed back with specific information which we take seriously. With few exceptions our properties generally receive high marks.

Clean, quiet, relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in this condo was great. It was clean, quiet, and relaxing. After a short drive (20 min), we tried out a few breweries in the Boone area. We also hiked grandfather mountain, Linville falls, rough ridge, and saw Linville caverns which were all close by. Would definitely come back!

Beautiful Vista!

  • 5 of 5

The condo had everything that we needed. Adequately clean, as well Furnished with durable items so I wasn't worried that my pre-teen might harm anything. The electric wall heaters took a bit of trial and error to adjust since the writing on the dials had mostly worn off. We did not lack for heat. Overall, enjoyed! Thanks,

Beautiful location. Quiet area and very close to near by towns.Condo could use a thorough cleaning. Out dated heating thermostats. Only one closet. Inside it had (towels sheets blankets etc....and vacuum cleaner) the other closet had a stackable washer and dryer and the other one had a pad lock on it. If you have 3 or 4 guest staying, this is not feasible. This should be stated on the website. Sponges and hot pads for the kitchen were dirty. White chair in living room was very dirty on the arms. Fire place pilot light kept going out. When you wait all year to enjoy a vacation you want the place you choose to be something to remember. Maybe put more emphasis on updating the inside ..the senery is beautiful.

Owner's Response: Kathy L, We are glad you enjoyed the location and view from our condo and are sorry the closet space did not meet your needs. Those needs vary from guest to guest ie. A couple stayed in the condo for five weeks this summer and loved it. The closet space was fine for them. The closet with the miniature lock is used by the cleaning people. We appreciate the heads up on the dirty sponge and pot holder. They should not have been there. They are being replaced as necessary by the cleaning people. The chair is somewhat worn and has been a concern of ours. It is being replaced in December. The thermostats in our condo are still used in the majority of condos in the area. All previous guest find they work well. Thank you for being our guest and the helpful feedback. John
