First rental of the year, dirty, needs allot of love
We love Hatteras, the location, the water, the area. Chose this house for us, our kids and grand daughter toddlers. Upon arrival, first things notices was the dirt, food crumbs, and dis-repair. We spent the first full day cleaning, mopping floors, heavy dirt on ceiling fans, picking up dead bugs and such. There was no internet service nor was there any functional television. Near 50% of the light bulbs in the house were out, no outside ground floor outdoor lights worked, The railing on the 3rd floor deck was damaged, so, kids could not go on the deck. The hot tub was green and slimy. The upstairs heat vents were black with mold or dirt so we did not use the HVAC. I communicated with the owner early in the trip, later he ghosted us, no response. A little frustrating, over 900 miles from home. VRBO and the owner have both been contacted about the issues. I requested some sort of refund due to the issues and the fact that we had to clean, no response, VRBO stated I needed to report to them within the first 24 hours. I reported to the owner, assumed that was sufficient, it was not. Very frustrated overall
