Overview

About the property

Newly Decorated Cozy 1 Bedroom With Expansive Deck Overlooking Riparian Corridor

Take in all the Wine Country has to offer from this centrally located cozy apartment overlooking Sonoma Creek! With nearby great wineries, tasting rooms, restaurants, and shops, you'll find lots to enjoy in the area. You can take it all in on the 2 complimentary bicycles parked in the shed!

Guests who book during the winter / rainy season may get a special whitewater treat! Since the Bungalow is overlooking Sonoma Creek, you will enjoy an exciting show if there is a rainstorm, and the rapids get more turbulent! Part of the deck is covered, so you can enjoy a thrill during a rainstorm! (Don't worry, you are safely high above the creek in the ravine below.)

The Bungalow (TOT Cert # 1436N ) features a beautiful kitchen, hardwood floors, a cozy gas stove for cool nights,, and a sumptuous new Beautyrest queen bed. Fast internet, cable and internet-enabled TV let you watch cable TV or stream movies. While the apartment is delightfully furnished (we own a furniture store!), the real attraction is the deck overlooking the creek. From here, you can sit for hours watching the steady stream of wildlife (deer, mostly) as they make their way along the trails along the year-round creek. When the rains start, the creek goes from a lazy creek to a roaring stream - with rapids just a bit past the bungalow, giving great sound effects. The deck features comfortable patio furniture and an optional gas firepit to enjoy a glass of wine around at the end of a busy day!

While there are so many activities nearby, we expect that at least one of the days of your visit you'll grab a couple of bottles of wine and want to spend the whole day at the cozy Lazy Oak Creekside Bungalow, enjoying the magical surroundings!

** NOTE** MAX OVERNIGHT OCCUPANCY - 2 PERSONS ONLY ** (Including children)

About Mike & Theresa Robertori

Avid travelers, my wife and I frequently stay in vacation rentals all over the world. We know what it takes to make a place special, and we know what we need to feel at home! We're confident that our properties will make you feel like you're in your home away from home! This is our second vacation rental, our first vacation rental (VRBO number 497125) is very popular and is nearly always booked! We strive to offer a great value in a fully legal, permitted vacation rental, so you can enjoy our town as much as we do!

Mike & Theresa Robertori purchased this bungalow in 2014

Why Mike & Theresa Robertori chose Sonoma County

We purchased this property because we took one look at the last unit of this 4-unit (2 duplexes) property, and realized it was a gem we needed to share! The first 3 units are home to people who have lived in the apartments for a long time. The last unit on the creek is very secluded and quiet, and offers incredible creek views and unparalleled wildlife viewing.

What makes this bungalow unique

In the shade of the big oak tree near the rear of the property (hence: Lazy Oak), the large tree provides an idyllic environment for enjoying the wine country. The apartment is tastefully furnished and secluded. The outdoor spaces are oriented for maximum enjoyment of their creekside frontage. Patio furniture and firepit are provided for your enjoyment of the outdoors. The Creek babbles in the summer, and can roar in the winter. The constant presence of deer, squirrels, birds, and other wildlife in the riparian means you can lose yourself for hours watching as the animals traverse through the trails. Go on photo safari in Sonoma!

Five stars is not enough

Our stay at this rental was so wonderful. Everything about it was great. The location was near everything we wanted to visit. The cottage was very well thought out, lights in the closet, motion sensor on the bathroom light, USB plug in the kitchen... The best part and what we enjoyed the most was the deck, afternoons spent watching the creek flow past and evenings sitting beside the firepit. The unit was very clean, the decor very tasteful, furniture very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. It was the perfect size for two people.

Quaint, relaxing, cozy, well-appointed.

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we stepped through the door our tensions from the previous whirlwind days slid away. The location afforded easy access to activities or if we chose, quiet solitude to read. We would recommend this property. A perfect getaway destination with the added comfort of feeling right at home.

Owner's Response: Thanks, guys! We really try to share the warmth and friendliness of Sonoma with you! Glad you felt 'at home's, that's the goal of any of our 'Lazy' properties, whether they be one of our 3 in Sonoma, or our 1 in Kona, or (coming soon!) Tampa, Flow (Lazy River Cottage, on the Hillsborough River).

Loved it :)

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our short stay at the bungalow. A reviewer mentioned below that they did not forget a single detail & I couldn't agree more! My only complaint is that it was rather hot in the bungalow and the AC didn't seem to help (we read the instructions & turned it on) & when we turned on the fan at night it was really noisy. However, that doesn't take away from our wonderful experience & we would definitely stay again! oh and we loved watching the deer at night while sitting in the patio!

Owner's Response: Hi Brisa, Wow! We wish you had let us know! I do need to point out that the temperature hit over 100, which is pretty unusual! I am planning to add a ceiling fan over the bed for when those REALLY hot dsys.happen.

Amazing Retreat in Sonoma!

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say enough about how wonderful my stay in Sonoma was. The Lazy Oak Creekside Bungalow was the perfect spot that allowed me to take in all of the wonders of wine country. The location was awesome and allowed me to easily explore many different towns in wine country. The bungalow was clean, quiet, and cleverly appointed with everything I needed to enjoy my stay. The bed was very comfortable and sitting on the back porch was a great way to start my day (with coffee and pastries from Barking Dog Roasters and Basque Boulangerie). This was also a wonderful spot to end each day with a glass (or two) of wine that I had procured in my visits to various wineries as well as snacks from the nearby Sonoma Market. Be sure to check out the local restaurants (Gourmet Taco was a highlight) and explore Sonoma Town Square. Mike checked in on me and made the very excellent recommendation to attend the town 4th of July parade. Such a fun trip; I look forward to returning!
