Family of 11
Our family of eleven was so comfortable in this house we booked it again for next year.
Location is fantastic too.
What a spacious, lovely house with plenty of off street parking.
This location is ideal with walkable access to downtown and near the impressive staircase.
Great location, convenient, downtown walkable or driveable
Great layout, big bedroom upstairs and good bedroom downstairs
Pulling out of driveway requires some care; there are some strange Hood River traffic rules.
Sturdy solid construction
Gas Barbecue was gross; seemingly no one likes to clean these, so we bring our own portable charcoal Weber, but then I worked for Kingsford so...
Laundry worked great
Backyard grass needs watering
Park and playground down and across street should be open soon, should be great when completed
Would happily rent again
This house is great house for families. The proximity to downtown is fantastic.
Great House / Fun Times
We originally made reservations in September 2017. We had to cancel due to fires in Hood River and Bill was gracious and helpful rescheduling the reservation. The house was in great shape for our large group. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was fantastic, and we used the outdoor fireplace each night.
Hood River has a lot to offer and the house made a great base camp.
Beautiful multiple family friendly home
Our family had a small family reunion at this home. We were a total of three families. A family of two, a family of four and a family of five. We had a total of five kids. We also had some pets with us.
Pros: (This part is easy) Beautiful, clean newer home. Plenty of space. Right across the street from a playground. Good sized rooms and plenty of bathrooms. Master bath with double shower heads was amazing. Loved the open layout, got in great visiting with family. Baby crib was very appreciated. Beds comfortable. Fully stocked kitchen and utility room. Quiet neighborhood. Off street parking. Nice sized yard for pets. Plenty of blankets and towels. Very prompt email answers and refunds.
Cons: (I really had to nit-pick) Slight ant problem upon arrival (cleaning staff did put out bait and the ant problem got better over a couple of days). Broken slate on upstairs bunk bed (still had enough beds, since kids didn't use the broken one). No kindling for starting the fire outside (we made our own). All colored towels had a slight mildew odor when used (I've had this problem before and using either a cup of vinegar or color safe bleach with the load will get rid of that odor).
Overall, we all enjoyed the home and had plenty of space for our families and pets. We would recommend the house to others, especially since it's a clean, dog friendly home and those can be difficult to find.
To my future guests. This review while perhaps didn't warrant 4 stars is nice and detailed and does provide a good sense for what to expect upon arrival. To cover the "cons".
1) Slight Ant problem: I have 4 houses all of them have a few sugar ants currently across a variety of locations. This is very common in Oregon this time of year. As noted in the review my cleaning crew was already working reducing the ants.
2) Broken slate on bunk bed: We work hard to fix things that are broken by guests in previous stays. From time to time, especially when we have multiple back-to-back renters (like during spring break) it takes use a few weeks to address maintenance issues like this.
3) No kindling: We do not intend to supply our guests with materials to make fires in our outside fireplace, there is no where in any of our advertisements where we suggest we do, if you are a future guest and want to enjoy our outdoor wood-burning fire place, please take note here.
4) Slight mildew odor in some towels: For us, this is unacceptable. We plan on evaluating all towels and will likely replace any that we can identify an odor that persist after being washed.
