The small jungle lodge "El Paraiso" (Paradise) is situated on an idyllic river, El Tipire, surrounded by bamboo groves, in a beautiful forest landscape, and not far from the Caribbean beach of Playa Grande. The magnificent birds (parrots and. Many more), are also attraction of the house.
The house is ideal for families with children and also offers space for groups up to 15 people.
One of the rooms upstream large covered terrace provides plenty of shade and invites in rocking chairs, hammocks and armchairs to relax.
A pretty swimming pool with a small waterfall, the wonderful blends into nature can be regarded as the center of the house. The spacious, interestingly designed kitchen awaits the guests who can live out their culinary skills here.
Beaches in the area: Playa Grande:
This is one of the finest Playas Venezuela and close to our lodge (20 minutes). This fine-grained, exotic beach offers a 800m long palm scenery and invites you to surf.
This rustic beach, they can from our lodge on foot in about 20 minutes. reach. A small Sparziergang takes you past huge old forest trees, until they arrive then at the stone beach. A swimming is not recommended.
Playa El Diario:
This secluded beach can be reached in 45 minutes or by boat. A small but the beaten path brings you to a hill and from there an enchanted path leads always downhill towards the sea.
Further, only accessible by boat beaches are:
Valleseco (15 min), Chuao (20 min), Cepe (25 minutes), Uricao (30 min.), Cata (40 min.), Puerto Mayo (1 hr.), La Ciniega (1 ½ hrs.).
Henri Pittier National Park: During a stay in Choroni trekking is an absolute 'must'. The Henri Pittier National Park is the first national park in the country and famous for its cloud forest. A variety of plants like this one can hardly find again. In the park there are more than 40% of the birds of Venezuela (580 species) and lots of other animals such as howler monkeys, snakes, sloths, butterflies and many interesting insects. Also Pumas (El Tigre) in the National Park are sighted from time to time.
This park is the oldest of Venezuela, founded in 1937 with the name of Rancho Grande, at the behest of then-President Eleazar López Contreras. The park was renamed in 1953 after the Swiss botanist and ethnologist Henri Peltier. This Swiss botanist came to Venezuela in 1917 and has determined in his work over 30 000 plants in Venezuela. The Djungel Lodge El Paraiso is surrounded by this diversity.
