Quiet neighborhood with an easy walk to the market and other shops and stores. Many interesting food choices close by.

About Douglas

In 1991, I started a jewelry manufacturing business in Albuquerque having repatriated from a stint working at Sharp Electronics in Osaka, Japan. In 2006, I was itching to take on my dream to run a remodeling company. That, was the beginning of ABQ Pad Rentals and the vacation rental business.

High ceilings, unique cork floors and wide expansive rooms. The best part is when the guests enter for the first time and go 'WOW!'. Everybody raves about their stay here.

Underwhelmed

The bedrooms were great, spacious, lots of storage , comfortable beds. But that is where the upgrades stopped. The heater broke the first night and so we froze. I called Doug in the morning and he was there quickly and did fix the problem that day. Even though it was fixed, the thermostat is on the wall with the heater on the other side. This causes a guessing game with the thermostat until you find the right setting. Sometimes it was too hot, other times too cold. The bathrooms are antiquated, with chips, rust and discoloring. One of the showers was so hard to turn on we were afraid we might break the handle. We brought this to the attention of Doug when he was fixing the heater and it was simply crusted and hard to turn. The location is said to be in Nob Hill and it is....sort of. It's on the bottom end without any of the cool stores or many restaurants that make Nob Hill so much fun. There was also a smell, when we spoke to Doug about it he said it was from the new cork floors. Doug the manager was very nice and quick to attend to the heater problem but I feel the apartment was presented as much better than it truly is. I have used VRBO for over a decade and this is the first time I have been disappointed and found the apartment was not as advertised. But I did learn a few things, if the photos do not show the insides of the showers and baths....beware. Also, I should have researched this place a little better checking the exact location on a map, etc.

Perfect rental home

We enjoyed our four night stay at this place (12/24-28). Doug (the owner) is very nice, honest, and welcoming. All the rooms are in good size and professional decorated. Beds are comfortable with all new sheets and blankets, etc. Kitchen are well stuffed. Two rooms have big screen TVs with cable services (many channels). The property is in a central location of the town, which is close to grocery stores, restaurants, and Costco. We'll recommend this property to everyone who wants to visit Albuquerque or Santa Fe area.

Huge apartment- very nice - nice setup in living room

All 3 bedrooms very nice - only one has tv in room. One is master w bath attached . Wi Fi isn't best in bedrooms, hopefully Doug will upgrade system soon . Doug met us when we arrived and gave us tour and offered to help if needed during stay. Great place to stay for girls weekend in ALQ or family vacation

Good location, clean

We had a great stay in Albuquerque. This unit is in a good, central location with restaurants and grocery store within walking distance. Quiet neighborhood; good place to walk around and see the architecture of New Mexico. The unit was very clean, beds were comfortable. Everything was serviceable, but definitely in need of updating. They are currently updating the adjoining unit, so I assume this one will be next.
