3.5 Bedroom, 2.5 Bath 2 Story Rental House With Vineyard And Mountain Views
About Ken Gulaian
Hi everyone! We are Kari Heerdt and Ken Gulaian, and as the owners of Round Peak Vineyards, we'd like to introduce ourselves and our team. We met in Cincinnati in 1998 when we both worked for General Electric. We moved to Charlotte, NC in 2000 for a new job opportunity, loved it, and decided North Carolina was where we would stay. Careers got in the way though, and in 2006 we moved to San Francisco for Kari's work. This proved to be instrumental since it resulted in a lot of time spent enjoying wine in Napa, Sonoma, and especially the Dry Creek Valley. We particularly enjoyed the small family owned wineries. When we got the chance to return to North Carolina in 2008, again for Kari's work, we jumped at the chance. Ken had already decided it was time to give up the corporate world, and when we found out there was an opportunity to own a winery in North Carolina, we couldn't resist! After visiting, being impressed with the wines, and seeing the spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, we decided to take the challenge.
Ken Gulaian purchased this Cabin in 2011
Why Ken Gulaian chose Mount Airy
The Vineyard House, and the adjacent Winery House, create a really unique rental opportunity, where you can stay right in the heart of wine country, relax and enjoy some fantastic views, hike around our 33 acres of vineyards and woods, and yet still get out and participate in the many activities in the region.
What makes this Cabin unique
Next door is both a winery (Round Peak Vineyards) and a craft brewery (Skull Camp Brewing). Included in the rental is a tasting of either wine or beer for each adult renter (21 & over). With both Mount Airy (home of Mayberry) and Elkin (heart of wine country) close by, there is something for everyone to do!

Loved the cabin and the property was breathtaking. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the vineyard
Nice house in a very peaceful setting. It was very relaxing to walk through the vineyards every day. The location is very close to lots of great hiking areas. Ken was very easy to work with, making the rental process very easy.
A fantastic home with everything you need. Very well laid out on a vineyard. The views are breathtaking. Caretaker is readily available should you need anything. Looking to come back soon in the Fall. Wanted to give 5 Stars but web site did not allow. Wonderful stay!
Thanks Lynne, very glad you enjoyed your stay and thanks for the great feedback!
2019 Family vacation
We were finally able to get both our daughters to take some time off at the same time. I read the reviews on the cabin/house and thought if it is even 1/2 as good as it sounds this is where we need to stay. Well, the reviews and pictures were right! Absolutely beautiful place and views. Convenient to everything. The house was very spacious with three bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms. Fully stocked with everything you could think of. I always take our own shampoo and conditioner whenever we go anywhere. Well the house was even stocked with that and bath soap. My grandsons actually left their electronics alone most of the time we were there. They played kick ball in the huge back yard and we had s'more's at the fire pit. Took a nice walk through the property and came across a deer eating. My younger grandsons were just in awe. Our older grandson watched the younger ones while we went over and experienced the wine tasting. Of course we ended up buying some. None of us wanted to leave we enjoyed it so much. We all agreed this just might need to be our yearly get away place. Ken is very quick at responding to any questions I had and the young lady in the winery was so informative and very welcoming. I have absolutely nothing negative to say at all about our stay except I should have booked more nights. But that was my error! If anyone is looking for a nice, clean, spacious place to stay while in the area of My Airy with a beautiful view this is the place!!!
Hi Rebecca. WOW, what a great review. Thanks for taking the time to write it, and for all the kind words. Very glad you enjoyed your stay! I truly hope you do have a chance to visit again! Cheers, Ken
Beautiful location with great view from the screened-in back porch. Loved walking through the vineyard and watching the wildlife. Property was well stocked and had plenty of room. Close enough to town with shopping and restaurants. Would definitely stay again. My only suggestion would be to replace the upstairs carpet with the same laminate as downstairs.
Thanks Stephanie...replacing the carpet is actually planned for this winter when we have some time between rentals! Thanks again fo staying with us!
Another great weekend!
The cabin is a great option if you are traveling to or through Mount Airy. This is out third year making it our location to meet friends and hang for the weekend. I highly recommend this property.
Hi Douglas, Thanks for the note! I saw your comments you left as well, no worries! I'm going to put a better system in for holding the screens, they occasionally pop out with high winds if it comes from the back area. Thanks again for staying with us! I was around on Saturday but never had a chance to catch up with you. Cheers, Ken
The cabin is located ~ 10 miles from downtown Mt. Airy, famous as "Mayberry" from the Andy Griffith show. It is also about 20 miles from Downtown Elkin, and is in the heart of the Yadkin Valley wine region.
