About Nina Schuttert / Giulia Tiriticco / Kirsten Eijkelenboom / Giulia Lattanzio
We have been with Homeaway since 2006, proposing houses that are able to unfold Sicily's colours and charm at best. Houses with quality furnishing in unique locations, with incredible views or with a pool, always accurately selected in order to satisfy our main wish: to see you falling in love with Sicily just like we did. We provide you with transparent information and true pictures. What you see is exactly what you get. We will advise you as much as we can about travel info, transfers and car rental. Dinners in villas and other extra services can also be arranged. Finally, our prices are final rates! There are no hidden additional costs. We are flexible with your arrivals and departures and if you need a late check-in this is usually possible.
100% refund if cancelled at least 60 days before arrival date. 50% refund if cancelled at least 30 days before arrival date.
A relaxing and enjoyable stay
We enjoyed our stay at Villa Francesca. It was great to unwind and the pool area and outside seating are lovely. The pool was great for our kids (8 & 10) as they could stand up at one end and the other end was deep enough for them to learn to dive (although the diving board shown in the pictures is no longer there).
Francesca was lovely and welcoming and she showed us around. She doesn’t speak English but we managed to communicate just fine (sometimes with a little help from google translate). So, no problems at all.
The location is great to visit places like Noto (which is beautiful and well worth it). However, we would have appreciated more restaurant choices in the local area. We dined twice at Caponinna da Gino and we enjoyed ourselves. However, there weren’t many other choices in Fontane Bianche and Cassibile felt pretty run down as a town and so we only used it for the supermarket. As a result, we ate in more than we have done on other holidays. That said, it didn’t really spoil our experience as the setting at Villa Francesca is lovely.
One final comment, my kids loved the addition of the table football. A nice touch.
If you’re looking for a bit of R&R and a base to discover south east Sicily, Villa Francesca is a good choice
Nice house for two families - very functional
A nice house and perfect for two families with 5 kids age 12y-18y. Nice pool area, nice eating and kitchen outside "under roof". 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It is close 5 min drive from Sea, beaches, restuarants, shops, bakery etc. It's reccomended to have your own car. You can find everything you need for your stay within 5 min driva. But I reccomend at least to visit City of Noto and old part of Cyracuse. Also the Beach of Casamobile 10 min drive south of Fontane Bianche with a nice not to crowded beach, nice kiosk and cliffdiving/jumping.
Nice hosts, but they have poor language skills witch caused some problems regarding communication and questions. They only talked Italian.
But in short a beautiful house and well worth a stay.
Great villa for a family holiday!
We had a wonderful week at the villa, which was perfect for a large family with children. The outdoor space and pool was brilliant, and was lovely to have so many spaces for eating outside. The villa is really well located for exploring the region and the local beach which is absolutely beautiful, with crystal clear shallow waters. The beach is only a few minutes drive or 15 minute pleasant walk. We were a bit worried after reading an earlier review about it not being possible to walk but this was completely incorrect, it's possible to walk into both Fontane Bianche and Cassible along the very quiet roads. Would highly recommend this villa, we had a brilliant time there and Sicily is very beautiful.
AS good as the photos show
A wonderful Villa set in a peaceful location. Mr Carrusso met us at 2pm and had prepared the place so we were able to access earlier than predicted. The villa is about a mile from the local town of Cassibile so you can walk there if you need to ( a bit long if its very hot as there is little shade) . He explained the house very well to us although its helps that i understand Italian as he speaks very little english! The villa itself is very spacious both inside and out and very clean and tidy. Plenty of pots and pans and crockery in the house. The four bedrooms are large with one en suite and they are air conditioned but if i had a small complaint it would be that the front room and kitchen weren't and it was a boiling hot week we stayed and would have been nice to escape the heat and relax on the couch rather than having to lie on a bed.If you come in summer the place is perfect as the outside/pool area are great! Also the outside shower if useful. All in all we were very happy with our stay and would recommend it as a great holiday.
A huge property with plenty of space to lose the kids!
So much outside space with a huge pool - we were pleasantly surprised to find two outside eating areas and upstairs balconies. The property is a little dated and could do with some minor maintenance especially the mosquito nets on the windows but with mosquito repellent plug-ins and outside burners they didn't stop us enjoying our stay but it is why I gave 4 not 5 stars. Mr Caruso was there to meet us and give us a tour of the property with a map showing routes to and from the villa. We had no issues that needed his assistance and he was very prompt to help us check out. We didn't need one of the bedrooms as our children decided to share but we were very glad that they all had air-conditioning - downstairs bedroom included but not the sofa beds in the living room which doesn't have a fan so gets very stuffy. This was a very good location for us with excellent beaches in Avola and Arenella too. We visited Noto, Modica and Syracuse easily and loved coming home to swim in the pool. All our group (3 adults with a 10 and 14 year olds) agreed this villa was a gem of a find and we were sorry our holiday had to end.
A very cozy villa
It is a very nice villa. You have everything you want.
Fontane Bianche is about 50 minutes from Catania airport and 15 minutes from Syracuse by car. There are food shops and several restaurants in the area. Its proximity to the stunning baroque towns of Syracuse, Noto and Palazzolo Acreide also make it an excellent base for a cultural exploration of this UNESCO World Heritage area.
The location is ideal for exploring Sicily's southern coast:
- 900 meters of one of the most beautiful sandy beaches of Sicily;
- 15 km of the beautiful town of Syracuse
- 10 km from Noto, a town rebuild in baroque architecture after the earthquake of 1693.
- 25 km from the harbour of Marzamemi, a picturesque fishing village with a nice boulevard, good restaurants and shops with local products;
Other Activities: Escursion to Mount Etna, 100 km away
