Welcome:
Located on the first floor in a typical Chicago style 3 unit building built in 1898. There is one unit above.
This space was updated recently and features modern finishes. There is a fully stocked kitchen with basic cooking items.
The bathroom has a shower/tub combo, all recently remodeled.
The unit is light and bright with many large windows.
The bedrooms are small and there is a queen and full bed with high quality mattresses, linens and pillows.
It is a quiet unit with very minimal foot traffic from above. However, as it is 124 years old, the hardwood floors squeak and creek so please know that going in.
A coin operated washer and dryer is located outside the back door one level down.
Q: How thoroughly is this property cleaned, disinfected and sanitized due to Covid-19.
A: The cleanliness of my property is my highest goal. I check every cleaning myself to make sure it meets my 99% perfection rate and is properly disinfected and deodorized.
Q: Are dogs allowed?
A: Depends. I will allow 1 dog, a maximum of 40# only if you declare it at the time of booking (click the pet box). There are other dogs on the property so there are additional house rules. The cost is a $10-$25 night and depending on your dog, you may have to pay a refundable deposit or increased cleaning fee.
Please do not come with your dog unless we have communicated and agreed upon it.
Q: What about parking?
There is off street parking from December until May for $5/night in an unplowed parking lot ($10 from May to sept). Be prepared to shovel in winter months.
There is some free street parking a few blocks away.
You must notify me at the time of booking if you need parking. Parking is at your own risk and payable in cash left at the property.
Q: How many bedrooms? How many people can they sleep? Bed Type?
A: 2 bedrooms which can accommodate 2 in a queen and 2 in a full. Base prices are for 2; additional people incur a small nightly additional fee.
Q: Can we sleep on the sofa?
A: Sorry, no. It isn’t hygienic and risks damage to the sofa.
Q: Is this a shared space?
A: No, you will have the entire place to yourself.
Q: Can I smoke/vape inside or outside anywhere on the property?
A: Oh, Lordy no!!! If you do, you will be charged $500 and additional cleaning. This is a smoke free property including 420 and includes the yard.
Q: What is the minimum age and the max. number of people?
A: 25 y/o for all guests unless traveling with a parent or guardian. You must upload a government ID for all adults before address or entry codes are given.
Q: Is the neighborhood quiet, safe and easily reachable by train/ subway?
A: We are fortunate that this block is a dead-end street. This means it is extra quiet, safe with minimal through traffic. It is located in a socio-economically diverse area of Chicago.
Healy Metra (train) is only 2 blocks away. It goes to the Union Station downtown directly in 2 stops and about 15 minutes.
The El Blue Line Logan Square stop is 1mile away- 25 minute walk.
Q: What’s included so I know what to pack?
A. Towels, toiletries, linens, iron/board, cleaning supplies are included for short stays of 5 nights or less.
Longer stays will require you to supply some of those items.
Q: What about heat and AC?
A. It’s forced air and central
AC and completely adjustable by you. Included in stays less than 28 night.
Q: Do I get a key or codes?
A: You will get instructions 3 days prior to your arrival. We have security gates and locks on all doors. A texted or attached copy of government ID (passport or driver license) must be received prior to codes being released.
Speaking of instructions, make sure to use the Welcome Guide of the app as lots of information is there.
Q: Are there any additional rules? Age, smoking, additional guests, etc.
A: I’ve mentioned a few above but please note:
1. no visitors or pets are allowed who are not part of the reservation total eg.
no parties, no bachelor or bachelorette events, stop overs, dinners, pick-ups, hamgouts, meetings, etc. Just add them to the reservation and pay a small fee.
2. quiet hours from 10 pm to 7 am even if the neighbors don’t.
3. please no shoes on in the house. It decreases noise transfer between units and keeps the rugs clean.
4. Please don’t bother or interact with the tenants of this building. They want their peace, quiet and privacy. If you need something, text me.
5. Stays over 14 nights require additional cleaning.
Q: Can I walk to bars, cafes and restaurants?
A: Yes, there are many within walking distance:
Brew brew, The Double, Park and Field, The Levee, Aquarius and more. Use Yelp or Google to find what is your fancy.
Q: Can I get early check-in? A: Possibly. It is rare this option is avialble during June to September as we are nearly fully booked with many back to back reservations. We need a full 4 hours to clean, wash, inspect and or repair the property. Please book travel plans accordingly. There is much more flexibility in the other 3 seasons of the year.
The calendar is updated automatically through the system so you can check before inquiring.
