About the property

My House Is Full Of Beautiful Art, Mostly Created By My Artistic Children!

My house is full of beautiful art, mostly created by my artistic children! (They have all moved onward!) I have a beautiful Tuscany kitchen that is fully stocked with everything you might need! My living room and dining area are cozy spots for you to sit and relax.

You will definitely need to check out my music room, where I have a plethora of musical instruments and sheet music.

There are three bedrooms on the second floor, plus a bathroom with a tub/shower. My bedroom (the fourth bedroom is on the first floor.)

The "Montana Room," is rustic, with antique furniture and mountain-themed artwork. This is the largest of the three rooms. It has a queen sized bed, and a desk area for those needing to work.

The "Costa Rica" bedroom is lovely and the bed itself is soooo comfortable! (a queen size bed.) My friend and I traveled to Costa Rica a few years ago and so I filled this room with the many things I bought from that trip. I have a small refrigerator in this bedroom for guests to use.

The "Bumblebee Room has a full-sized bed. There is a "chalkboard painted" wall, and so you can spend time drawing your own masterpiece!) This yellow, white and black room is so cheerful and there is a nice desk for those needing a work space.

The fourth bedroom is on the first floor and has a full-sized bed. This room has lovely Tuscany finished walls, braided rug, and crocheted bedspread

I have a Keuric coffee and tea maker (one cup coffee maker), and I generally leave out something quick to eat, like banana bread and/or granola and yogurt. I often have fresh fruit out as well.

My backyard is lovely. I have put much time and energy into landscaping this small, quiet spot. And please check out my "Art Garage." I teach classes throughout the year, (currently teaching 2 after-school classes per week - during the school year and facilitate an art camp for a few weeks each summer.

About Theresa Cardiello

I am very interested in the arts; good movies, art, music, dance, and above all - stimulating conversation. I work as a counselor and I also teach art lessons in my "art garage."

Theresa Cardiello purchased this house in 2002

Why Theresa Cardiello chose Helena

I fell in love with this house - the old architecture. When I bought my house, I was given the house papers - dating back to 1876! The yellowed paper, with beautiful handwritten notes marks the history of the house. I love that I am part of this history!

I also fell in love with this neighborhood. I can walk to just about everything. When the weather is nice, I often walk to the grocery store, or walk or bike downtown. The houses in this area are eclectic! A mansion is next door to a house built in the 50s, which is next to a very small bungalow.

This also describes the people who live in this area.... eclectic. A year ago a group organized a "South Central Neighborhood" street party. This event was well attending and really had a feel of a small community.

What makes this house unique

Again, I fell in love with this house immediately. The kitchen is to die for! (lots of cabinets!) I also love the extra room in the back of the house (music room.) I currently teach piano lessons in this room! The back yard is just perfect for me - a peaceful plot with lovely flowers in the summer - and a yard small enough for me to use my push mower!

Of course, the garage was a major selling point for me, as my family has operated an "art camp" out of the detached garage each summer.

I took my time with updating the inside. I generally worked on one room at a time, stripping off layers of wallpaper, mudding and sanding over the old plaster walls, tearing out the old carpets and having the beautiful wood floors refinished.

Cozy, central location and enough room for everyone

  • 4 of 5

The rental was fantastic and provided us the room we were looking for to be able to connect with family and just relax! It was great stay for us...minus the car accident...but the house made it easy for us to unwind and relax.

Comfortable and Roomy Vacation Home

  • 4 of 5

We rented this home with our adult children and had plenty of room. Enjoyed the family photos and artwork displays. Theresa was very accommodating and is taking the time to mail back my forgotten pillow.:)

Warm home, perfectly located

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at this home for five days in May. My family enjoyed the outdoor deck during the warm days and were very comfortable in the bedrooms. I hadn't paid attention to the comments on the TV (only one station) as my husband and I enjoy relaxing to a show at the end of the evening. But Theresa was very hospitable and kind and I would recommend this home. It is perfectly located near the Cathedral of Helena, the Capitol, Last Chance Gulch and Carroll College. This just may be the perfect place for you!!! :) we would stay here again!

Wonderful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in town for a wedding and the location was perfect as it was near the capitol and just off the interstate with easy access to the venue but also to downtown. Theresa did a wonderful job of communicating with us and replying promptly to our messages/questions. She was very accommodating about our request for an extra sleep space and we had some yummy foods left for us - which was just too sweet of her!

We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this cute space for you and yours to stay in Helena!

Charming Home in Helena

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely, charming, art and music-filled home in a great location of Helena. The home is lovingly cared for and clearly a treasured family home. Theresa was a wonderful host, and our children had a great time with all of her art supplies and musical instruments! It's also in a great neighborhood, and close to all the sights in Helena! We would definitely recommend this home to others, and we would love to stay here again!

Helena is a great place to visit. Located halfway between Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, Helena has been called, "The Best Little Art Town in America." My house is very centrally located. The capital complex, which includes the Historical Museum and the capital building itself, is only blocks away. A major grocery store is also close. Going in the opposite direction, the downtown area has theaters and shops, art galleries, restaurants, and bars. There are walking trails close by, and many lakes in the surrounding area. The Great Divide Ski Hill is only a 45 minute drive away.
