Delightful place to stay!!

  • 5 of 5

My adult daughter and I loved staying in the suite for a week in July. It was in a great part of town, very quiet with extremely comfortable and clean accommodations, and walkable to many good restaurants, shops, theatres, etc. Parking our car was easy (and free!), compared to what it would have been at downtown hotels, and we were able to easily travel from the suite to other sites (Washington Park, the Oregon coast, Mt. Hood, Hood River, and other nearby places). Ben was a delightful host, and gave us our privacy but was quickly accessible if we had any questions. Although we didn't take advantage of the art room facilities, we liked knowing we could if we wanted!! My daughter is very artsy (involved with architecture) and loved how the entire suite had an artistic and vibrant feel to it. (The lighting inside the suite is especially nice, along with the "fireplace" on the wall in the living area.) I will definitely be recommending the suite to all my friends and family members who travel to Portland!! Thanks, Ben, for your graciousness and for helping to make our vacation so memorable!

Great place with a great host.

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was just as advertised. Ben was a very accommodating host. He met us at arrival and showed us around. The Unit has two bedrooms with comfortable beds. A full bath with plenty of new linen. WiFi for the kids and an updated and modern kitchen. The front door touch lock was easy and convenient to use and there was plenty of parking.

1) Hawthorne/Division- multiple coffee shops and eateries within walking distance within 1 mile. Streets are quiet and unique.

2) Mt Tabor park is 20 min walk and is beautiful for a stroll.

3) Portland downtown is more of a haul about a $12-$15 dollar uber or about a 1 hour walk to get across the river.

4) Multnomah Falls was an easy 30-45 min drive (depending on traffic). Unfortunately trail was mostly closed due to fire of 2017. Bridal Veil and Latourell Falls in my opinion were more worth the drive.

All in all our trip for my family of 4 was made enjoyable in this classy and unique apartment. Highly recommend.

Newly renovated in great neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

Such a great place to stay for so many different reasons. First, our host Ben went above and beyond in many ways to make sure our stay was a great one. He was so accommodating and quick to respond to any questions we had. He was also the one who did all the renovating in the space and it really was beautiful. We loved that it was an older home but had been modernized and was super clean which we appreciated having an 18 month old with us. It has all the amenities you would need if you wanted to cook at home. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was soft which is plus! It was the perfect size for my family of 3. We had the privilege of using the outdoor space which was nice to use on nights our daughter went to bed early. Ben provided a LED umbrella for us, a nice table and chairs, a grill, and even filled a cooler with some beer for my husband! His house is in the perfect location on the SE! You can walk to all shops and restaurants, coffee shops yet it was always quiet. Walking around was also nice to see the neighborhood and all the beautiful gardens everyone had. Definitely a great place to stay and highly recommend it. We will for sure be back!

Thanks Ben & Naomi!

Convenient and walkable location

  • 5 of 5

Two coworkers and I rented this space from Ben for a work trip in Portland. The location is is ideal for folks getting around on foot/bike and is close to lots of fun food/drink on upper Hawthorne including Por Que No and Space Room as well as the Belmont and Division districts, Mount Tabor and Laurelhurst Park. Ben graciously allowed us to store our bicycles indoors, which was appreciated. He lives upstairs and was home during most of our stay so we interacted with him quite a bit. He was very helpful in getting us checked in and settled during our stay. Overall a lovely, quiet, and convenient neighborhood and this is a comfortable space for 2-3 folks for a few days.

One suggestion I have for the unit would be to have a recycling bin accessible in the kitchen as the area where the recycling was located indoors was locked. This meant that we had to wait until the end of the stay to move and recycle our cans as there wasn't a curbside bin that we saw either.

Thanks Ben!
