Great home in a great location!
Was the perfect place for extended family in town to celebrate a milestone birthday! Very comfortable home.
The place was meticulous, location is perfect in the old Town.
Beautiful house. Well maintained with perfect location. Close (5 mins walk to King street) to old town but not too close so as to be on a quiet street. Well appointed for a family stay. Very convenient to Washington as well.
Perfect house, in a perfect location, with the most amazing owner
There simply aren't sufficient words to describe how incredible this house is or its amazingly thoughtful and wonderful owner, Peggy. My wife and I and our two year old daughter stayed in this house for three months while we temporarily in the area for the birth of our second child. From the beginning, Peggy was amazingly responsive and considerate and soothed our every concern. She even went so far as to ensure a crib and other items were available for our daughter and newborn. Basically, we could not have asked for a better experience with her.
The house itself was even more amazing than in the photos. Every room is spacious with high end furniture and wonderful details. Having a newborn we spent a lot of time in the house and appreciated so much having the space to sprawl out a little. In particular, we loved the wonderful TV room with the impossibly comfortable wrap around sofa and large flat screen TV, the huge master bedroom with wonderfully soft bedding, the patio, the roof deck etc...
Possibly even more amazing than the house (if that's possible) is it's location. There is a beautiful waterfront park literally across the street that our daughter loved (ducks, a field, and sand in the volleyball court!). It is also just a few blocks from dozens ofrestaurants and we spent countless hours at Hillside Park playground which was also just a few blocks away. Everything you need, including groceries and pharmacies, is within walking distance. The best part of all, however, was the fact you will be surrounded by the kindest, nicest, and most amazing neighbors. We can't even begin to thank everyone for all the nice gestures both before and after our new daughter was born.
We fell in love with the house, the neighbors, the owner, and basically everything about life at this incredible property. Book it without hesitation - you will love it!
No one could ask for better tenants than this family. Truly, they were what every homeowner dreams of - - - quick responses to any emails, carefulness with the expensive furnishings, timely payments, notice to me on any issues regarding the house I should know about - - - all in all reliable, honest and nice people. I highly recommend the Reisingers to anyone who is considering renting to them.
This is a beautiful and spacious home in s perfect location. It is an easy walk into Old Town.
Our family had a wonderful Thanksgiving week here. Peggy, our hostess, was very helpful and nice. The home is the perfect place to stay and we would definitely stay here again in the future.
If you like professional baseball, this is your place. Where else can one take a ferry to the ball park and arrive closer than the nearest parking lot?! The ferries also go to the casinos directly across the Potomac at National Harbor.

About Peggy Rhoads
I was the wife of a U.S. diplomat for 27 years and raised my three children on 4 continents. I loved meeting so many fascinating people. After many years as a widow, I remarried and bought this unique home in one of America's oldest towns, right outside of Washington D.C.
Peggy Rhoads purchased this Townhouse in 2010
Why Peggy Rhoads chose Old Town
I knew immediately on seeing this property that it was special - - - on one of the 2 best streets in Old Town, right on the River, with total renovation close to completion. I was fortunate to get this property in a frenzied multiple bidding war and have not been sorry one minute. People ask me every year to please sell them this property.
What makes this Townhouse unique
How can one beat going to the National's Baseball Park by ferry, or taking a free trolley to the Metro to go to D.C's infinite offerings, or enjoy the restaurants at the Potomac's marina at the park across the street? It is fun every minute.
