Why Amy Barnsley chose Marquette
The Bluff House is great for families or couples traveling together. Sleeps 8 people at an affordable price. The house has a wonderful location and charm. Built in 1878. Its funky and old, but is updated. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, dishes, dishwasher, coffee pot, and fresh ground coffee! Its great to be able to do your laundry while traveling and know the detergent is provided.
What makes this House unique
We fell in love with this house because of its charm and location. We live about a mile away, closer to the University, where Amy works. We find staying at the Bluff house a wonderful treat. It is so close to downtown restaurants, pubs and activities such as the Jazz Festival, start of the UP 200 sled dog race, and the New's Year ball drop.

Great spot close to everything
Seven of us were in town for a wedding and the bluff house provided an amazing location close to everything we needed. Great front (and back) porch sitting on a quiet street but also walking distance to a gas station and all of the restaurants/ bars on Washington. The house is old but extremely well kept and has a ton of charm. Amy was a gracious host and if we find ourselves back in Marquette, we will stay here again!
Great property close to downtown Marquette restaurants and shops
We’ve enjoyed staying at this property several times. It’s a great location for visiting Marquette’s restaurants and shops. The house is well maintained and is large enough to accommodate our family. We really like the spacious front porch for family game nights!
Very Clean and located near town
Loved staying in Marquette. Great town and nearby many beautiful
places. Amy’s home was beautiful - by far the nicest on the street. Spent many hours on the front porch reading. The house was well stocked and extremely clean. Was a very quiet and restful time. Only suggestion would be to bring (or provide) power strips with multiple outlets. Due to the age of the home, not as many electrical outlets for today’s “electronic family”. 😊.
Great vacation rental!
Our extended family of 7 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bluff house! The house and linens were clean, it was spacious, great front porch and the woodwork in the old house was beautiful. There was a little musty smell only in the kitchen but it was manageable with the windows open. It was within walking distance to downtown and shopping/restaurant area. The backyard was nice to play and sit in. I left behind a camera battery and a phone charger and it was found by house keeping and mailed back to me, so thankful for this! We would definitely stay here again and Marquette is has so many fun activities to offer for families!!
Great location and plenty of space
Just a few blocks from downtown in a quiet neighborhood. The house has lots of character and is nicely decorated.
Although the lower level does not have air conditioning, the bedrooms each do.
Home was clean and comfortable. Loved the charm of the older home.
Five adults stayed and enjoyed the central location of this home. It is in a residential area with car and foot traffic but was never noisy. Central location to many locations via foot or bike. Short car drive to area destinations such as Sugar Loaf and Dead River falls. Landscaping in the back and front yard looks great. Large front porch wonderful for relaxing cup of coffee. Would stay again.
