Why Amy Barnsley chose Marquette Township
The Bluff House is great for families or couples traveling together. Sleeps 8 people at an affordable price. The house has a wonderful location and charm. Built in 1878. Its funky and old, but is updated. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, dishes, dishwasher, coffee pot, and fresh ground coffee! Its great to be able to do your laundry while traveling and know the detergent is provided.
What makes this House unique
We fell in love with this house because of its charm and location. We live about a mile away, closer to the University, where Amy works. We find staying at the Bluff house a wonderful treat. It is so close to downtown restaurants, pubs and activities such as the Jazz Festival, start of the UP 200 sled dog race, and the New's Year ball drop.

Great yard, nice host
We had a nice time staying at Bluff House prior to a wedding. The house has plenty of room for six adults. The back yard is great for a cookout and there is a gas grill provided. The downsides to the house are that, as with many old houses, there is no central AC, and things tend to wear out. We were in Marquette during an unusually hot week, but there were no window AC units on the first floor of the house so it got pretty warm in there. Fans were provided, but one of them did not work. The coffee pot also stopped working, but the owner kindly brought us a new one. One of the toilets began leaking during our stay, so the owner came over and provided a temporary fix so that we could finish our stay with two working bathrooms. All in all we had a pleasant experience and enjoyed talking with Amy, the owner.
Old world charm
I loved the old world charm of this house. It was very nice. It worked out great for me and my whole family. It is within walking distance of Marquette. The amenities were fantastic. When we visit in the area again I would diffidently rent this house again. Amy was so easy to work with. I would recommend this house to anyone with a family.
Beautiful older house....spacious, clean, and all the amenities! Owner lives close by and is friendly and delightful!
Four beds and two bathrooms met our needs and the price was very reasonable!! We stayed here for over a month and we were very happy with our choice. Water pressure and hot water weren't the best, but everything else was great.
House was good for a group. Very clean. Great location for walking to restaurants.
