There's a beach to suit every taste: from the busy resorts of Puerto Del Carmen and Costa Tequise, the wild surfing beach at Famara in the west or the golden sandy coves of the southern peninsular of Papagayo. Pleasure boats from Puerto Del Carmen harbour explore the coast and ferries connect with neighbouring Fuerteventura from Playa Blanca.
For a holiday combining poolside with beach, there's no need to hire a car as there are plenty of coach excursions available. However it is fun to have a car at least for a few days if you wish to experience Lanzarote’s spectacular landscape and fascinating cultural heritage.
Our start days are flexible and you can book any number of days - week, fortnight, ten nights etc. We can help you to book flights and optional car hire. Please ask!
Inland there's the spectacular "Mountains of Fire" trail through the lunar volcanic landscape which culminates in a visit to the restaurant where steaks are grilled over the natural heat. Many of the leading attractions have been designed by Manrique - including the beautiful Jameos Del Aqua lagoon and caverns, the Jardin de Cactus at Guatiza, or the Monumento El Campesino (museum of rural life) with its outstanding restaurant which specialises in traditional Canarian food and wine.
Puerto del Carmen is a harbour settlement just south of the island capital Arrecife. It has expanded northward along a series of beaches. There are some hotels but most tourist accommodation is in small-scale groups of low-rise apartments and villas. Shops, restaurants and bars by the hundreds run the length of the sea front. Great for walking or bike-hire, there's now a coastal cycle track all the way to Arrecife. It's busy and cheerful but considerably more relaxed than resorts on other Canary Islands.

About Tim and Cathy Arthur
We have been in the holiday letting business for more than 30 years. We developed and ran an award winning rural holiday cottage complex in Pembrokeshire, West Wales and a number of apartments in Lanzarote before "slimming down" to letting our favourite villa, "Casa Catalina" in Lanzarote. We take a lot of care to ensure that standards are kept high and that everything is just as you would expect it to be. Many of our visitors return year on year. We are sure that once you have stayed in our properties you too will want to return!
Tim and Cathy Arthur purchased this Villa in 2003
Why Tim and Cathy Arthur chose Puerto del Carmen
We bought our first Lanzarote property in 2001 in the Old Town area of Puerto del Carmen and grew to appreciate the authentic nature of the town and the quality of the shops and restaurants of this - the oldest part of the Town. We saw the properties at Vistas del Mar being developed and were impressed by the clever design, the convenience to the beach and the Old Town and the generous sized sun terrace and swimming pool. Casa Catalina is on the front row of Vistas-del-Mar. We are passionate about the beauty of the Lanzarote landscape and have explored most of the Island including the hidden gems and off the beaten track walks. Although Puerto del Carman is busy and bursting with life we find it friendly and full of charm.
What makes this Villa unique
The kitchen is fabulous when we do decide to cook for ourselves or entertain friends. When our children join us on holiday two bathrooms are an absolute must - they are girls after all! Talking of girls - the clothes shopping at the Biosfera shopping complex is a big attraction just ten minutes walk and the beach is about the same distance from Casa Catalina. But the name "Vistas-del-Mar" says it all - views of the sea - wide south facing views, the sun comes up in the morning and it's there all day until it slides down behind the distant volcanoes in the evening. Take a glass of wine out to the terrace and watch the dramatic sunset. Pure magic!
