Both owners are Nottingham based families and we purchased this property whilst under construction in 2004. We try to get out to Spain 3 -4 times a year to chill out and to continually improve the property for our own comfort and for our guests. It is a second home for us and we just love being out here!

Why Mike Downes chose Orihuela
The Orihuela Costa has the most stunning beaches, literally hundreds of excellent restaurants and bars and is a readily accessible destination from both Alicante and Murcia airports. It offers golf at reasonably priced courses, home from home comforts and facilities or the traditional Spanish experience if you go into the bustling coastal town of Torrevieja or the hilltop villages inland from the coast. It literally has something for everyone.
What makes this Apartment unique
The property is one of few two bedroom apartments to benefit from its own private pool and beautiful terraced garden and so is an affordable luxury. The setting is a tranquil residential environment yet within 10 minutes walk is the lively and safe Villamartin Plaza. Our apartment is somewhere you can chill out in the sun during the day and then prepare for your night out wondering which of the 20+ local restaurants you will stroll to and whether your late night entertainment will be to listen to the live music in Shandon Bells, watch sky sports in the Tavern, or make your own music in the karaoke bars till the early hours. After that it is just a nice downhill stroll back to our comfy apartment - what more could you want ? Wifi ? Satellite TV ? - well that is thrown in as well!

This is our second visit to this property which has been vastly improved since we were last there. The new on-suite is excellent and is a huge benefit when 2 couples are sharing. The outside area has had a huge makeover which is not yet reflected in the photographs and is one of the best in the area. I would highly recommend this property to anyone.
Great place to stay, really nice property.
Villa was great, nice and clean. Pool was great to have, used most of the time when at the villa. Location is great, short drive from main shops and beach. Nice and quiet area with friendly people. Owners were friendly and on hand if anything was needed. Would definitely recommend this villa. Would definitely come back for another stay.

I have just spent 2 weeks at Mike's place and I must say I found it great exactly what we needed, relaxing, comfortable and clean. And the Icing on the cake apart from the perfect weather the beautiful pool i would recommend for couples or small families.
2 bed garden apartment with private pool
It’s a lovely place, with everything you need. We are back in the summer as well.
Downside the meter which we had to continuously top up, it was chilly especially in the evenings so we had the heaters on a lot which didn’t help. Wi-fi not good, kept disconnecting then wouldn’t come back on for hours so no TV either which was a real nuscience (probably wouldn’t have been so bad in the summer as most of the time you would be outside) Apartment spacious, clean and well equipped.
Thank you for your feedback. Spanish properties are understandably not insulated to the standard of properties in the UK and do need heating on cool winter nights. Our winter rates are very competitive however offsetting the cost of feeding the meter ! Wifi service is unfortunately beyond our control although we have not experienced regular disruption. We will review our service provider if there are recurrent issues.
The apartment is located just 4km inland from some of the most beautiful sandy beaches on the Costa's. Blue flag, supervised beaches and picturesque coves at La Zenia, Cabo Roig and Campoamor are family friendly, and a 10 minute drive from the apartment. There is a marina at Cabo Roig.
Murcia and Alicante Airports are 15 and 35 miles respectively from Villamartin. Most of the budget airlines fly to these destinations. Car hire is available from the airports or we can organise for you to be met by a driver, who will transport you to and/or from) your accommodation. Please ask for details. A car is recommended for getting about but not essential. Taxis are available at the Villamartin Plaza and the fare down to the coast is around 7 Euros.
The nearest town, and traditional spanish coastal resort of Torrevieja is just 12kms and the cathedral city of Murcia less than 50kms from Villamartin. There are inland country parks, protected coastal environments and a wide range of local activities such as ten pin bowling and the water park at Torrevieja and the Go-Karts at La Zenia.
The Plaza at Villamartin is a short stroll and has a wide variety of restaurants, shops, banks, doctors, pharmacy and foodstores. There are hypermarkets, shops, restaurants, bars and night clubs on the coast road at La Zenia along with the Tourist Information Office. Nearby Torrevieja has a huge modern shopping complex with plenty of free parking.
