Great time

  • 5 of 5

Five of us (three generations) had a wonderful week at the villa. The weather was glorious all week and we had a great time, spending one or two days entirely 'at home' eating, drinking and swimming and other days making short trips to nearby perched towns and the nearby lake. Fresh bread was a five minute walk away in the mornings and although the supermarket in Montauroux had shut down (permanently or temporarily, no-one was sure), the large supermarket in the valley below was handy and bars and restaurants in the village itself provided evening entertainment. The mosquitoes weren't an issue during the day - it just pays to be extra vigilant before retiring for the night and to come prepared with insect repellent and 'after bite' pens for the one or two that get through the various barriers!

Everything was as promised!

Ideal location close to the center of the village and yet quiet. Fabulous views of the woods and the distant Mountains. The house itself is spacious and the pool area is fantastic! This is not our last stay.

Great location, great pool

  • 4 of 5

Enjoyed 10 very relaxing days in Montauroux. Location of the house is ideal to wander into the square for croissants in the morning and a drink in the evening. There is a small market on Tuesday morning.

The house was very well equipped. The pool and pool area were excellent. We had the pool heated which was great for the early season.

A couple of feedback items;

- more than a single towel per person needed for a holiday!.

- the property could also have been cleaner...we found the floors very dusty... we had a crawling baby who had black legs and hands after the first hour and so we spent the first morning of our holiday hoovering and mopping!

Owner's Response: Hi Adrienne, glad that you enjoyed your stay. There is normally a large and a small towel provided for each guest. We'll look into what happened during your stay. We have changed our cleaners recently and we have passed on your comments to them. Hope to see you again.

Lovely house and view, location in pretty village but also close to coast.

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time we have stayed in this house. Very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Pool area and view of the valley is fantastic. Montaroux is an attractive village with a few shops, including bakery and bars. There was also a small music festival in the week we were staying. Good location for day trips including Cannes, Monaco, Gorge du Verdon, St.Tropez etc but also lots of quieter beaches and coves if you prefer.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. It was great to have you back ! During the summer months there are often events and festivals organised in and around Montauroux which are listed in the village 'events magazine'. This is often available at the shops around the village square. Although not big, the village cinema is one of only a handful of cinemas on the Riviera to show English language movies which was great for our kids whose French was rudimentary.

Perfect spot - beautiful views and handy for all amenities

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your villa. The property had beautiful views overlooking the valley with the mountains and coast in the horizon - close enough even to enjoy some of the fireworks on the french riviera. The property was well equipped with everything you would need - we spent lots of lazy days by the pool just enjoying the views and the peace and quiet. As we were so close to the village square, we normally popped out in the evening for either a drink or a meal out in one of the many little local restaurants. We even walked as far as Callian to visit the restaurant by the church there - highly recommended. We also took trips to Grasse and Fayence and soaked up the french markets and enjoyed a mooch around the shops, and of course several trips to Lac du Cassien, where the kids had a ball on the inflatables and the pedaloes. A fabulous holiday! Thank you so much to Henry and Jeannie for being on hand for advice about markets and where best to go. Highly recommended holiday destination

Owner's Response: Welcome back Bobbie. Seems that you covered a fair bit of ground but also clocked up hours by the pool ! Our kids have very fond memories of days on the 'Lac' with the pedaloes. Hope to see you again.
