The house is situated in a peaceful area amidst orange/lemon groves in the beautiful " Akamas National Park ". The area is ideal for cycling, bird watching, wild flowers in spring and early summer or just relaxing. Close to quiet beaches and offers the opportunity to discover Cyprus away from tourist resorts.
Peace and quiet make " Just for Two " a very special place to stay.
The nearby quaint town of Polis is just a short drive away with good restaurants, tavernas and a supermarket. Also close by are bakers, butchers, banks and petrol stations.
Latchi with its pretty harbour/marina has some of the best restaurants in Cyprus, a perfect location for a leisurely meal. This area of Cyprus is by far the most scenic and picturesque.
It has been voted as having the best coastline and is an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Argaka is ideal for nature lovers and is perfect for those wishing for an active holiday or just for a totally relaxing one.
Latchi harbour is a short drive away and things to do include boat trips to the blue lagoon on a mini-cruise. At the Latchi marina tavernas you can sample really good locally caught sea food.
You can also visit the baths of Aphrodite where legend has it that if you bathe in these waters you will enjoy everlasting youth!
A day trip by car to the Troodos Mountains provides a beautiful day out and an unforgettable experience.
Further attractions include a drive to Lara bay-a protected beach and one of the few areas in the Mediterranean where loggerhead and green turtles lay their eggs.
Driving in Cyprus is on the left with very familiar looking road signs and traffic lights.
A recent article by Aeras magazine gave this region top spot and described it as follows:
'Akamas wild beauty is magnificent. You can rent a boat and dive in the crystal-clear waters of the Blue Lagoon,
or try a road trip in the picturesque villages of the surrounding area. Stop for traditional food and an incredible view
at the last castle in Viklari'.
Dear Clive and Sue -Yesterday we returned safely from a wonderful holiday in Cyprus. We felt very comfortable in your beautiful house. We loved especially
the amazing views over the garden,to the mountains and from the top deck to the sea.We would be happy to come back soon, maybe in spring time during the blooming period.Thank you very much and all the best.
Ulrike and Roland (Germany )
Ps a very big thank you for the exact directions to the house.
This house was the perfect place to explore the coast, Akamas Peninsula and mountains. A trip to the Troodos Mountains is recommended (still some snow - but not as much as the UK had while we were away!) and Paphos is an easy drive away to see the mosaics etc.
We ate in Polis on a couple of occasions, one night with music and dancing at Archontariki Taverna very friendly and good food. It was not warm enough to use the pools on site but they must be great later on in the season, we did however brave the sea after a long walk to the Blue Lagoon on the Akamas Peninsula. Temperature was 18-20 degrees most days, ideal for walking.
We arrived at night and we're immediately taken by how pretty it was. In the morning, the patio is perfect for breakfast. The top pool was closed for maintenance which can't be helped but the bottom pool remained in use. Private roof terrace perfect for sunbathing. Neighbours are all welcoming and chatty. A car is definitely needed here as it's all downhill to the nearest shops but once back down there is plenty of shops and bars/restaurants. At night it is very quiet and ideal for just a chilled out evening. Loads of books and DVDs to choose from if you don't bring your own. Excellent facilities
We were a little nervous about booking somewhere as remote as this but we just adored the setting, the peace and quiet.
The house is so spacious and has different outside spaces which are stunning. Clive and Sue have made each area special with little touches of beautiful plants or ornaments, making it a delightful place to be.
The house is immaculate and has everything you could need ( except a hair drier... I didn't take mine).. but beach mats, parasols and cool bag are great touches that make the stay easy. The garden is amazing and we loved sitting having breakfast and watching the lizards. We completed two of the puzzles over the week.. when do you ever get time to do that in normal life. ! Relaxing on the roof terrace with a beer and devouring 2 or 3 books was heaven.
We loved the pier from which we swam most days and nowhere was crowded, everyone was friendly.
If you want a week to really unwind, then this is the place. You need a car to get about but. Car hire here is cheaper than most European Countries. We did get a puncture which is common place and only 5 euros in Polis too get fixed!
Thank you Clive and Sue.. you made booking easy and it was great to be able to have easy contact with you for peace of mind. We have already recommended the house to friends! We hope t return sometime.
This town house is beautifully presented, clean and very comfortable with everything you could need. The views from the roof terrace are magnificent, we ate our evening meals, when dining in, out there and watched the sun go down and a profusion of stars come out. The garden is lovely and the patio perfect for breakfast watching the birds, lizards and butterflies.
Peaceful and relaxing = exactly what we had wished for.Now we are about to book again for 2018.
This modern three storey house was as described in the website. It was well furnished, clean and very well maintained, also very spacious. The lounge opens onto a large terrace with a pretty landscaped garden. We had our breakfast on this terrace every morning. There is also a large rooftop terrace with lovely views over countryside towards the sea.
We found plenty of car parking space in the main car park of this small development, very near to the house. The location is very quiet and the village of Agaka is quite spread out with a few shops providing the basics. The nearby town of Polis has larger shops, cafes and restaurants and has retained its traditional Cypriot feel.
A car is definately required when staying at this property as there is plenty to explore including the Akamus peninsular nearby with some interesting villages wineries and spectular countryside, also the Tylliria wilderness if you enjoy unspoilt nature.
I would definately recommend this propery for a relaxing stay away from the tourist buzz but within easy reach of towns, traditional villages beaches and sites of historical interest
The owner Clive was very quick and efficient at responding to emails and the booking was easy to manage.
Very nice house, very clean with everything you could possibly need for your stay. The property has a lovely garden and lots of great outdoor seating areas to admire the views from. The little estate it is in is nicely kept and the residents were very friendly and gives us tips on places to go. The pools were clean and well kept with lots of space for lounging if that is your thing.
The area was quiet (we were there slightly out of season) with good local pubs within a short drive and easy access to the hills and the beach giving you lots of options. Also it is easily accessible from Paphos so convenient for the airport and the world heritage sites.
If you want a nice house in a nice area with access to beach, hills and culture you will struggle to do better.
Argaka is an inland village set in an elevated position overlooking Chrysochous Bay and the Akamas mountains.
It is approximately 6 km from the quaint historic town of Polis which is approximately 35 km from Paphos.
This area of western Cyprus enjoys a staggering 340 days of sunshine a year. Cyprus is regarded as a 'year round Island' so the temperatures are very pleasant even in winter rarely dropping below 18 degrees.
The Polis and Latchi area also benefits from cooling coastal breezes so in summer months the temperature
is not as hot as places like the capital Nicosia which is positioned inland. There are many things to do locally such as lovely walks through pine forests to see irrigation dams/long walks along uncrowned beaches only minutes away. The fishing harbour of Pomos with its renowned sea food taverna is also a short drive away. As is Latchi
with its picturesque marina and harbour front restaurants. This area is also renowned for its local wine.
Quiet beaches nearby
Golf: Cyprus currently has numerous golf courses.
A new course(Elea) has just opened in Paphos designed by Nick Faldo.
The nearest course is at Tsada (MInthis hills) approx half-hour drive. Also its sister course -Secret Valley
is only approximately 15 minutes from Paphos
A Jack Nicholas designed course is to be built soon approx 2 km away from the House in Argaka at the new Limni.
