An outstanding brand new, fully furnished apartment available for rental in the exclusive Tas Sellum development in Mellieha in the north of Malta. The apartment is in a perfect location with a large terrace overlooking the pool and the open sea views behind. Its right by the sea and a 10 minute walk to the largest sandy beach on Malta: Ghadira Bay. The development is an exclusive haven of tranquility ideal for a relaxing holiday. Facilities available nearby, include a full range of water sports: water skiing, sailing, wind surfing, snorkelling and scuba diving. The sandy beach is ideal for children with a long gradual decline. Other facilities nearby, include Popeye's Village (used in the filming of the movie) and horse riding. There are many restaurants, bars and shops in the nearby villages of Mellieha and Bugibba. Imagine yourself sitting on the terrace watching the sun go down over the Mediterranean after a busy day relaxing by the pool. Perfect!

About Joanna Bishop

We are a British family living in Hampshire with 2 teenage children. My husband works for a computer software company and I work with horses. My husband was born in Malta, has a Maltese mother and spent every summer as a child holidaying in Malta with relatives.

As a family we spent most summers in Malta and then decided to invest in a holiday apartment in the island we could use and rent out the rest of the time.

Having sought advice from family, we decided to buy an apartment at Tas Sellum before they were completed, knowing the builder Tumas produces apartments to the highest standard of quality on the islands.

The north of Malta had always been my favourite part of the island to visit - the best beaches and so much more peaceful.

1. We would all like to say Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful apartment. You are very lucky to own such a lovely place and so new and quiet! You have a lovely view from your balcony and we managed to spend every evening enjoying some local wine sat admiring the bay.

2. We arrived back yesterday from Malta and I just wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic time! The apartment and complex were beautiful and we had the best holiday ever. The weather was wonderful too. We always agreed that we would go somewhere different each year for our hols but we fell in love with Malta so we may well come back next year!

Notes on accommodation: The apartment is fully air-conditioned and is ideal for families and couples. Just 10 minutes walk from Malta's longest beach which is ideal for children, with all the water sports you would expect. Outside: This apartment is part of the exclusive, landscaped Tas Sellum development and is fully maintained. It has a large outdoor pool surrounded by palm and olive trees, which are watered daily. The apartment has a large balcony including a table and 6 chairs. There are 6 sunloungers and a large umbrella which can be taken to the pool. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bath towels and linen provided (not beach/pool towels). Other: Within bathroom is washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, ironing board, clothes airer.

Great apartment with a sea view

We stayed at this apartment in October for 10 days and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. On arrival we received a welcome pack with tea, coffee, bread, butter, eggs, and water. Spacious apartment with large balcony and sea view. Very quiet gated community with underground parking space. A 10 minute stroll to the beach. Bars and restaurants all within walking distance. If we come back to Malta we would definitely stay at this apartment. If you are visiting Malta we would highly recommend this apartment.

Excellent apartment in a quiet area

We really enjoyed our time staying here and didn’t feel that the photos of the apartment on the website did it justice! The apartment was clean, modern and spacious and is set in a lovely, quiet complex. There seemed to be some Maltese families living in the apartments or staying in them temporarily, with very polite children who played by the pool.

The lounge area was very comfortable with a large sofa and coffee table. The kitchen had all cutlery and equipment we needed to prepare meals and the dining area was well presented. The main bedroom was very big and the bathroom is attached to this which was convenient for getting ready. There is a decent sized balcony with a wooden table and chairs for sitting out and we even sun bathed on sun loungers out there too.

The complex has some rules including that no clothes or towels should be visibly hung on the balcony. This was not a problem since a low level drying rack was provided so you can still hang things out to dry. A washing machine and drying machine are provided in the main bathroom. The hot water is operated by a switch you need to put on in advance. This was a little bit inconvenient if you wanted a warm shower as soon as you get in but it’s not the end of the world!

The apartment was well stocked with books and leaflets containing information about Malta and the owners are obviously very knowledgeable and keen to share their tips with guests via the apartment information provided. Additionally, there were a good number of DVDs in the apartment in case of a rainy day! The apartment has wifi although we found that the signal strength was not always strong, especially if you move away from the lounge area. Lightweight sun beds are provided which are comfortable and easy to carry, especially since there is a side door from the apartment, straight down to the pool.

Melieha is a lovely place to stay but is not for the party-goer! We had some meals out, walked round the bay, sun bathed on the beach and by the pool and sat out on the peaceful balcony with a glass of wine - just what we wanted! There is a fairly steep hill up to the village but the bay is only a five minute walk from the apartment and has shops and restaurants. There are also frequent, air conditioned buses which will take you up the hill to the village for a couple of euros (or you can buy a travel card for cheaper travel). It’s an excellent location for trips all over Malta and Gozo.

A super week in your lovely apartment.

We have just returned from a week in your wonderful apartment. This was our first holiday in Malta and your apartment in the north of the island was perfect for us. The apartment was extremely clean and spacious, and very well equipped. The pool was superb and we spent many an hour sitting beside it. The balcony was also superb and we had our breakfast on the balcony overlooking the pool and the sea every morning. Our car hire worked well for us too, and we spent time out and about. The apartment is well placed to get everywhere on the island and we visited some of the many cultural and historical sites that Malta has to offer. My dealings with the owner of the apartment were always prompt and very courteous, and my very minor queries were answered quickly. We also very much appreciated the fact that we could access the apartment as soon as we arrived as the local manager had arranged for the apartment to be cleaned a bit earlier than normal. All in all a most enjoyable week and I would absolutely recommend this apartment to others. We will be back. Many thanks. Liz B

Fantastic Tas Sellum Apartment

Fantastic apartment with a great location. The apartment is fully equipped in every way and it is so handy that is also has a dishwasher.

When we were there we did not use the pool much as we preferred Mellieha beach with the super San Remo snack bar.

The master bedroom is excellant and my daughter and her friend who shared the other bedroom said the two singles beds were very comfortable.

Note for any first timers to Malta the plugs are the same as UK sockets so you don't need to take your euro plugs.

The apartment has open sea views, and the development leads directly to the sea. The largest beach in Malta at Ghadira Bay (also known as Mellieha Bay), is a 10 minute walk. Many other beaches are also nearby such as Golden Bay, Ghajn Tuffieha and Gnejna Bay, Paradise Bay, Selmun, Mistra (all about 10-15 minutes drive).


The apartment is approximately 40 minutes drive from the island's airport at Luqa.


The nearest bars and restaurents are approximately 5-10 minutes walk. The nearest village is Mellieha where there are many bars and restaurents. This is a 5 minute drive, 20 minute walk up a steep hill or a short bus trip. Valletta, the capital is approx 30-40 minute drive. Popeye's village is a 5 minute drive, Gozo Ferry a 10 minute drive, the ancient city of Mdina is about 20 minute drive. There is a major bus terminus with 10 minutes walk giving access to all major parts of the islands.
