The air-conditioned cottage is situated on the mountain side in the village of Keciler. Set in a lovely garden with a superb south-facing location and views across the valley to the 'Ghost Town'. Large terrace and access to a swimming pool. Free WiFi. The quiet beach at Gemiler Bay is close by as well as the famous 'Blue Lagoon' at Olu Deniz and the town of Fethiye. Wonderful location with a wide range of activities available locally, including boat trips, walking, horse riding, quad-biking, all water sports. Several local restaurants, serving excellent food, are within walking distance. All activities, meals, airport transfers, car hire etc can be arranged on request. A friendly family-run business. The cottage is well equipped and has lots of character. Experience the real Turkey in one of the most beautiful area.
Our stay at The Cottage was one of the best holidays we've had. The accommodation was great - the cottage had everything we needed, including a barbecue which we made good use of, and a super choice of outdoor seating areas. Tim and Liz were smashing hosts, very welcoming, providing much useful advice and tips to help us make the most of our stay.
There was nothing not to like about the area, the people and the activities so it's quite difficult to pick out the best bits, but here goes!
(1) Walks to Olu Deniz and Cold Water Bay provided a chance to see some beautiful surroundings, including a pair of tortoises strolling about in the forest!
(2) Captain Tommy's boat trip - great fun, great food and great value at 40 TL per person, with door to door pick up and drop off service.
(3) Bike ride to Gemiler Beach - tough going on the way back up the hill but worth it.
(4) Kayakoy village - an easy stroll away with no shortage of good places to eat and handy shops selling the essentials. We ate good food at Casper's and the Blue Butterfly (amazing meze - more than enough for two).
(5) The hotel across the road - we used the pool and had a lovely meal there one evening. The "Doctor's" red wine was very moreish!
All in all, a great holiday. We'll be back!
We stayed for 16 nights through October and were spoilt by unending sunshine, gorgeous temperature and blue sky. Tim and Liz the property owners could not have made our stay more comfortable without once intruding on our privacy. They were always available to help with any questions or recommendations. The property is exactly as shown in the pictures, spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. We arrived late on a Saturday evening and they ensured we had enough supplies for a supper and breakfast the next morning. We would have no hesitation recommending this cottage to anyone. If you'd like to drift off to sleep with just the sound of chickens and goat bells this would be the perferct place.....
Our holiday was idyllic thanks to Tim and Liz and their beautiful cottage. The property is both charming and well equipped including a wonderful bathroom. Quite honestly we would have been happy to spend our days sitting in the beautiful garden taking in the stunning views. There is a wonderful restaurant and swimming pool just 5 minutes walk away which we thoroughly enjoyed.
We loved the remoteness of the cottage with just goats and chickens for company not to mention the odd tortoise! However, hiring a car meant that we could visit the most beautiful beaches, local markets etc very easily so we felt we had the best of both worlds.
Tim and Liz looked after us perfectly, I can't recommend the whole experience enough and part of me didn't want to write this review for fear they become too busy to find room for us next year! Thank you so much for one of our best holidays ever.
We have been to Kaya before but this holiday was made really special, our hosts Tim & Liz made us feel so welcome, they took us to places we had never seen their knowledge of the local area is fantastic. The attention to detail in the cottage made a real difference to us and the external areas are fantastic. We feel we have found new friends in a little piece of paradise. Tim & Liz were on hand if we needed anything nothing was too much trouble. There advise on restaurants , buses etc was brilliant.
We will be returning again in 2016 and we carnt wait.
This is our third stay with Tim and Liz and I didn't think it could get any better but it has! They have done so much to the property and gardens to make your stay as comfortable as possible, it's beautiful. From the new bathroom to the new outdoor seating areas the attention to detail is spot on. Marry this with the perfect hosts and you have the perfect get away from it all holiday. We love the fact that it feels a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the main resorts of Olu Deniz and Fethiye but is only 20 mins from either. It is great to get back to such a relaxing place after a busy day in the resorts. Kaya village has loads of amazing places to eat and is incredibly reasonable price wise, Tim and Liz will advise you of where to eat due to there local knowledge. Can't wait to go back!
Our first time in Turkey and we could not have chosen a more beautiful area. The cottage was charming and the garden idyllic, with lots of places to relax in.
We hired a scooter for 5 days and Tim and Liz gave us some great ideas for places to visit., such as the beaches of Gremiler, Ol Denis and Kidrak. We also strolled along the promenade at Fethiye and visited the market.
Tim and Liz are the perfect hosts, always there when you need advice on where to eat or places to visit. Alan still talks about Liz's lemon drizzle cake, I should have got the recipe!
This holiday is on our must visit again list.
