Stunning, tranquil and secluded villa situated in the heart of the Umbrian countryside in a wild flower meadow along a private lane. Garden designed to enjoy the sunrise and sunset over the salt water infinity pool. Plenty of room for both outside (two shaded areas) and inside entertaining (a large open plan well equipped kitchen/dining area) in peaceful surroundings. Casella sleeps from 6 very comfortably with three double bedrooms ,one en suite and two other bathrooms.Large sitting room with wood burner for chilly nights. Located a short walk from the local hilltop village of Montone which offers bars, excellent restaurants and local shops . Montone is famed for its fiestas in the summer and autumn. The village square is the ideal place to relax and watch the world go by. The area is excellent for walking and cycling (cycles can be hired locally). Montone is situated close to the centre of Italy in Umbria and is an undiscovered gem of a region just half an hour from Perugia airport and an easy drive to many tourist attractions, Assisi, Montefalco, Urbino, Orvieta to name a few.

A little paradise!

This place is absolutely perfect- beautiful, comlfortable, clean and spacious house! Amazing swimming pool with spectacular view! Very guiet place, we could read the books and enjoy the silence and bnture. Very charm, little town close to thus place. It is possible to walk there. We had heavenly time there and we would like go come back. Strongly reccommended!!

Wonderful hollidays in Umbria

The stay went extremely well, thanks to the house and its location. We particularly enjoyed the visits to Assisi, Perugia, Gubbio and we even went to Siena and the Tuscan hills. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed the house of the barbecue, terraces, garden and of course the superb infinity swimming pool !!!

Perfect unwind

Beautiful rural setting but a short walk to lovely Montone for supplies, a wander and great restaurants. Wonderful pool. Everything you might need and more. Very comfortable and welcoming house. Easy drive from Perugia Airport a bonus.

Wonderful property, beautiful location

We've just returned from a wonderful week. The location was perfect for us, a lovely walk up to Montone, beautiful pool and surrounding countryside. Loved it!

We live in Hampshire, England, with 2 sons both of whom have now left home. We have spent many holidays in Italy, particularly in Umbria, where we found Montone, probably the most beautiful hilltop town in Umbria. (Are we biased?) Friends and family have spent many happy times here including birthday parties and even a fabulous wedding in Montone.

Why they chose this property

We found Casella, a run down farmhouse within walking distance of Montone and vowed to bring it back to its former glory. Encouraged greatly by our sons. This took 3 years of great work by our 2 Italian builders (brothers) and our architect. It was finished in 2007 and we have met the original owner who was delighted with the outcome. Since visiting on many occasions we have made many friends and even celebrated our 60th Birthdays and our son's wedding in Montone. The property allows you to relax and enjoy the countryside and yet is not too far from civilisation.

What makes this property unique

The property is situated on its own hillside 10 minutes walking distance from Montone. The house has 3 bedrooms, 1 with en-suite bathroom, 2 shower rooms, sitting room, dining room and kitchen . Outside there are 2 patios and a salt water infinity pool with lovely views to the south and west. You cannot beat enjoying the wonderful sunsets with a good glass of Italian wine.
Montone boasts all the facilities required, including shops, restaurants and hotels. In nearby Umbertide there are all the facilities of a small town including a good supermarket.
Within easy driving distance you have the towns of Perugia, Gubbio, Assissi,Citta di Castella and Todi, with Lake Trasimeno for aquatic sports. Further afield there is Orvieto and Montefalco, the great wine growing areas of Umbria.
