Apartment in La Bocca, Cannes Area, Cote D'Azur, France - Ideal Family Accommodation With 2 Pools And Sauna Just 50m From Beach

The apartment is on the fifth floor and has panoramic infinity views from the south west facing balcony across the Mediterranean specifically the Golfe Juan Bay. The view also boasts overlooking one of the two large swimming, there are also kids pools plus a children's water slide. Additionally, there is a poolside cafe giving free Wifi access if you buy a drink or a coffee. The cafe serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Also a sauna and massage area (in season at extra cost). Lots of local sports facilities (excellent tennis and one of the oldest golf courses in France close by) plus everything you might expect in the South of France. The apartment is located in Cannes La Bocca, about 2km west of central Cannes. The hotel complex is spread out in two arcs around the two large outdoor swimming pools and beautiful flower gardens. The beach is literally just across the main road, barely 20 meters away.

The resort is great, with two pools really well kept and organized. Location great, lovely market most days and good buzzing atmosphere at restaurants, also a good supermarket within walking distance

I live on the Fulham Road in London with my partner and two pug dogs. I went to school in France and fell in love with the country then. I wish to retire there if possible.

We love Cannes La Bocca because of the fantastic facilities in the residence and it is just far enough away from Cannes central to feel really french. Also there are a great range of bars and restaurants at your doorstep. The area is easily accessible with Nice airport less than 30 minutes drive away. Italy is also just a train ride away. You can also make the most of the great coastline with many sights to see/visit. You only have to walk across the road to get to the beach. There are two beautiful swimming pools. Private car parking space. We provide beach towels, umbrellas so you can travel light.

My apartment is a great place for a summer holiday on the French Riviera or for a quick visit during a conference. The apartment has panoramic views and 2 swimming pools. Less than 3 km from centre of Cannes and the famous Croisette it enjoys an outstanding location just a few steps from the beach and the lively locality of Cannes La Bocca. You can take one of 3 regular buses which will put you in Cannes centre in less than 5 minutes. All bus transport costs Euros 1.50, wherever you go. You can take the train to Italy and shop at the famous Ventimilia market. The apartment is 2 minutes walk to the La Licorne theatre and cinema - one of the main exhibitor cinemas during the Cannes Film Festival and there is a free shuttle service to the Palais des Festivals in Cannes during major conferences

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is fully furnished with all linen plus towels for the bathroom and the beach. Also all necessary crockery and dish cloths are provided. There is a washer/dryer machine, a hair dryer, an oven and microwave, a rotisserie, a toaster, a fridge with a small freezer/icemaker compartment, dish washing machine and in and outside heating on the balcony during winter,heating and a large air conditioning unit summer. The apartment is equipped with beach chairs and two umbrellas, a picnic hamper and crockery for the beach. If you have a coffee/drink in the poolside bar called the Café Bleu (pictured below) they provide free WiFi Internet access.

The picturesque town of Grasse is just a short train ride away (or you can use the 610 bus), where you can visit Fragonard Parfumeur or wander around one of the prettiest towns in France. Likewise there are the villages of Var, Villefranche, Eze and Beaulieu-Sur-Mer all of which are easily accessible by train from Cannes La Bocca or Les Bousquet stations nearby. Also you can visit Nice very easily from the apartment – for just €1 from Cannes by bus 200. If you do go for lunch there I would recommend the bistro café at Hotel Negresco on the Promenade des Anglais - it is excellent value and delicious.

If you venture further you can get the train to Ventimiglia in Italy where they have a fabulous market day every Friday until around 4 or 5 pm. A return ticket by train is reasonably priced and the journey time is about 1½ hours. Also there is Monaco en route to Italy, if you have the energy!

Very good municipal tennis courts (grass and clay) are to be found west along Avenue Francis Tonner, just before Cannes-Napoule airport.

Beach is about 50m away. Good sandy beach with kiosks at regular intervals serving snacks and cold drinks. The further west you go towards Cannes central the bigger the beaches, but they are more crowded and not as clean.

Nearest airport is Nice Cote D'Azur (about 37km). 200 bus will take you from airport (terminal 1 bus station) to Cannes for 1.50 euro or get the 210 express bus for about 14 euros. Good car hire at airport and complex has secure underground car parking (key card is in the apartment). Excellent local railway connections between Frejus and Ventimiglia plus Grasse from both Cannes La Bocca and Le Bosquet stations, each of which is less than 5 minutes walk away.

Central Cannes (Salle des Festivals etc) is 2km. 1, 2 or 20 buses take about 5 minutes or it is a 20 minute stroll along the Boulevard Du Midi. Mandelieu-Napoule is about 3km away or about 15 minutes by 20 bus. Grasse is easy to get to by 601 bus or by train from Le Bosquet station. Carte Isobel will cost about €12 per person and will give you return travel to/from any station between Frejus and Ventimiglia (Ventemille) in Italy. All domestic buses cost euros 1.5 no matter how far you go.

There are 2 large supermarkets, Hyper Casino and Intermarché, within a short walking distance. Further along Avenue Francis Tonner there is a new very large Carrefour, or you can take the 20 bus to Mandelieu and visit Géant Casino (a really large supermarket). There are only 2 cigarette shops in the area, one opposite the Place du Marché and one at the roundabout opposite Intermarché. There is a Nicolas wine store opposite the Place du Marché and in Avenue Michel Jourdan (the road that runs up to the left of the Boulangerie) there is another excellent wine store. Bear in mind that most shops close for lunch between 12:30pm and 2:00pm daily, that they also mostly close by 8:00pm and that many are only open on Sundays between 09:00am and 01:00pm. The larger stores do not close at lunchtimes and are mostly open until 08:30pm. During Film Festival most stores will shut early, including the larger food stores. In Cannes there is the Monoprix close to the Gare SNCF which is open late on Monday to Saturdays, but closed on Sundays. Don’t forget to take shopping bags with you.

There is a good quality fresh food produce market in Place du Marché every day until around 2:00pm, which is extended on Saturdays to include clothes and other sundry items. There is a flea market every Saturday and Sunday in central Cannes for antiques and art. If you are looking for good cheap Italian designer clothes, accessories, food, drink, suitcases or even cigarettes (€4.30 a packet!) you might want to take a trip to Ventemille (Ventimiglia) on the Italian border. The market is every Friday from 08:00am to around 04:00pm – even on Christmas Day.

There are 2 pharmacies close to the apartment. Pharmacie Fodda is located opposite the apartment complex (5, Rue de la Verriere) and Pharmacie de La Bocca Compte is just round the corner in Avenue Francis Tonner.

  • Description of sleeping capacity: Sleeps up to 7 people. 1 double bedroom, bunk bed in second bedroom, and large sofa bed that pulls out in the living room, but can sleep three people as the part of the sofa by the kitchen is a storage space but on top is the same size as another bed. All extra pillows and duvets are in the storage area underneath this part of the sofa, There is a pull at the end that you pull up to open, also there is a pull at the seating area beside the wall which will pull out into a double bed.

The apartment has one double bedroom, one bedroom with a bunk bed and sleeps three in the living room.The apartment is fully furnished with all sheets, flannels, towels for the bathroom and the beach, basically everything, all necessary crockery & dish cloths. There is a clothes & dish washing machine, a hairdryer, an oven and microwave, heating or a very small air conditioning unit as if you have the windows and balcony doors open there is a pleasant breeze already. Internet access is available at an additional cost to be paid at the reception or if you have a drink at the pool cafe it is free. Outside: 2 shared pools, each about 200' x 200'. Children's pool by second swimming pool plus water slide by main pool. Pools are quite warm. Private 10 square metre balcony plus rotisserie. Beautiful garden in circular area around the pools. Utility Room: Picnic hamper, plates, glasses, sun umbrella, chairs & 2 recliner chairs, washing machine, Microwave Oven, Rotisserie, hairdryer, toaster, iron, ironing board, kettle, sheets, towels, cutlery, utensils for kitchen, air conditioning unit, central heating. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels, beach towels and linen included and changed weekly. My cleaner charges €14 an hour if you would like her to come and clean the apartment during your stay. She also can pick you up and take you back to Nice airport for Euros 60 each way. Also she can offer babysitting services and provide a cote if required. Other: 10 square metre balcony with panoramic infinity views, south west facing over Mandelieu La Napoule

A very agreeable stay here

Listing is accurate in regarding of all facilities and the appartement layout. The owner Melanie has great help with documents in French and in English for access and environs. It is clean and everything seems like to have been freshly repainted. We were met by a local lady Laurence who is also cleaner. Both of the piscines have good maintenance and are clean.

We are 2 adult and 3 children and all had very good time at this appartement. I would recommend this again.

Clean, bright and good attention to detail

Excellent apartment. Arrived very late after a long drive and instructions for parking and access to the apartment were very clear and easy to follow. The apartment was exceptionally clean with all bedding and sheets freshly laundered and bath and beach towels put out. There is a good quality combination micrwave/grill/oven for cooking plus a ceramic hob. Our only issue was the security when you must enter a code to leave the complex as well as enter it.

Very enjoyable stay and we will consider coming again next year. Thank you.

Small, dirty, and cluttered

The place is much smaller than I expected for our family of five. It wouldn't have been terrible if it wasn't already cluttered with the owners things. The place was dirty upon our arrival. There were dirty linens in the wash machine, the toilet seat was not on the toilet, glasses that were put away in the cupboards were dirty, and all of our feet were black within 10 minutes of arrival. Please not that this Location is Cannes la Bocca and not Cannes itself. This area is a little rough around the edges. On a positive note the pools were great to have and the beaches nearby were fantastic.

Owner's Response: There are four double cupboards in the apartment for clothes. You cannot imagine my horror to learn that the one cupboard in the living room, which is locked, that has my personal belongings in, was broken into by this family. They went through all my clothes and left them dumped on the floor. The toilet seat was fine when my cleaner left. My cleaner says this family treated the place like a pig stye, they left their rubbish all over the place, stale food, rotting fruit, they used the entire stock of towels, about 40 in all, left soaking wet and dirty all over the floor, which have now had to be replaced. I would definitely not recommend this family as tenants to anyone. I have paid my cleaner euros 150 extra simply to clean up the disgusting mess this family made of my apartment. Even the pictures on the wall had been pulled down. Cannes La Bocca is a holiday resort, which is more like France than a tourist hot spot. If you want to stay in the centre of Cannes, which is like the west end of London; very crowded, noisy and full of night clubs, not to mention the extra expense, then please do not come to my beautiful apartment.

Very functional and clean, a stunning view

We had a fabulous time, there was so much to do and the French decorate the streets so beautifully. The apartment was nice and spacious and all things down even to a hairdryer were at hand. Lots of clean sheets and towels, crockery, washing machines, fridge freezer all working, and brand new.

Lovely apartment
