This charming, detached former lodge dates back to 1840 and offers charming and spacious accommodation. It’s pretty terraced and secluded garden has steps leading to a raised lawn and landscaped patio area, with furniture and BBQ to enjoy the summer sun. In cooler times the cottage, with its log burning inglenook fire is an inviting place to return to after a visit to the many nearby attractions. These include Topsham with its shops, pubs, quay and antique centre, and a variety of pubs and restaurants, shops and an outdoor swimming pool. Exmouth beach is within easy reach with a long sandy beach and boat trips around the estuary. Also Dartmoor National Park, Exeter Golf and County Club, Nature Reserves and Adventure Parks including nearby Crealy a must for children. But if you feel lazy the local pub is just yards away with its thatched roof, large grounds, outdoor eating and restaurant offering a range of good food supplied by local farmers and fishermen.

Well equipped and warm
We were a retired couple staying for a month, which included Christmas. Our friends and family were in central Exeter which was a twenty minute drive away. The house was warm and comfortable, plenty of hot water and very well equipped. It was also a larger cottage than expected. It is not a place for the very elderly or toddlers due to the terracing and gradient of the garden, or for walkers as there are no safe walks within the immediate vicinity. The pub, three minutes walk away, was very useful and the meals were good.
We think that the cottage could do with an update as far as the furnishings/maintenance are concerned.
Fabulous well equipped cottage
As a party of 7 there was plenty of room, all rooms were spotless , lovely cosy feel just gutted it was to warm for us to try the beautiful log fire . Lots of places to visit nearby, kent caves, trago mills and Newquay. Great communication from start to finish. This was a real traditional cottage with wooden beams and stable door. We were all impressed and would love to return in the future.Stayed August 2018
Lovely cottage and relaxing stay. Well equipped.
Lovely cottage and well equipped. Local amenities in Topsham within a mile or so and local pub very near.
The house was very clean with plenty of space for a family of 6+, the location was ideal .
The property was within easy reach of lovely beaches and places of interest.A new looking Aldi supermarket was 10 mins away on the Topsham road which made self catering very easy. The local fish and chip shop in Topsham was also good. Weather was kind to us so a good week was had by all.
Lovely Cottage, great area!
Lovely cottage, with great facilities, in an area with plenty to do with a 5 year old! We'll be back!
This was a lovely cottage. Very well equipped especially as we took a 7 month old baby and a 3 Year old with us. Well located for lovely beaches and beauty spots. Blue Ball pub served delicious freshly cooked food although we had to wait. Only downside parking for 2 cars could have been a bit bigger.
