About The Owner

Susan and Allan: we live in the Scottish Borders but wanted to have a home in Edinburgh. We have family who reside in Edinburgh that we visit frequently. The apartment is ideally placed to get the most from a holiday in Edinburgh. We hope that guests will find the comfortable accommodation as much of a pleasure to stay in as we do.

Why The Owner chose Edinburgh

We had been searching for three years for an apartment in the heart of Edinburgh that would be ideal for us to use and to holiday let. The apartment has been fully refurbished.The property is superbly located in the Dean area of Edinburgh, which runs alongside the Water of Leith and lies just a few minutes walk from the retail and commercial heart of Edinburgh. The apartment enjoys all the benefits city living has to offer with restaurants, bistros and shops located in nearby vicinity. There is no need for a car as main bus routes are close by that cover most parts of the town and surrounding areas. Neighbouring Stockbridge, just a ten minute walk beside the water of Leith, also provides further local shopping and a Waitrose supermarket.

What makes this apartment unique

Dean village is a tranquil green oasis only five minutes from Princes Street. Dean is located in a conservation area which forms part of Edinburgh World Heritage Sites The apartment is part of an historic mill conversion.

We regret that we cannot accept pets and the flat is strictly non-smoking. The flat has full central heating. Outside: There is a beautiful garden overlooking the Water of Leith to the rear of the property which you are welcome to use and enjoy at your leisure. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and bed linen are provided, extra towels are available by request. Cleaning and linen change is done between lets or by request. Other: All electricity included in rental price.

Location and setting perfect for short break close to centre

Fantastic welcome with prosecco and chocolates! Great location near one end of Princes Street (up steep hill!), with restaurants close by. Picturesque setting next to river, great for walks. Well stocked kitchen. Cosy lounge could be enhanced by corner, slouchy sofa. We enjoyed an excellent stay for Hogmanay. Would return within a heartbeat. Thank you to Housekeeper Jacqui for finalising our departure needs so well with her kind hospitality.

We had the most wonderful time in this lovely flat, the owner Susan was helpful and considerate. Comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen. The flat was clean, tidy and we were provided with fluffy towels and excellent bed linen. We stayed a month and only wish it could have been longer. The position of the flat is perfect for strolling into nearby Stockbridge along the Waters of Leith, lovely cafes, restaurants and plenty of interesting shops as well as a good sized waitrose and local Sainsburys. Also we were only a 10min walk into the city. Dean Village is an historic tourist destination! We loved it. Susan gave us a couple of restaurant recommendations and they proved to be perfect! We can't express enough just how good we felt about our stay in this property. We had the best time and enjoyed exploring Edinburgh and catching up with family. Many thanks Susan and Alan.

Fantastic flat in a fantastic location!!!

Myself and my two daughters spent 2 weeks during the Fringe 2016 in Susan's flat and couldn't be happier! It is very well appointed, with everything you would possibly need, complete kitchen with cooking utensils, comfortable beds, a very good shower and nice decoration. In our short breaks from the Festival, we could watch the Olympics on BBC, which was perfect!

The owners, Susan and Allan, are very kind and helpful. This area of the city is very conveniently located to access downtown without the fuss and noise, and I would highly recommend taking some time to stroll along the Leith walk pathways to Stockbridge or the Botanical Gardens (if are lucky enough with the weather!). Edinburgh public transportation is very efficient and easy to use and there is a convenient bus stop just up the (little) hill from the flat.

In summary, I already miss this beautiful city and Susan's flat and will surely go back when I have a chance!

Fantastic location and perfect apartment for our 4 person family

Location - absolutely perfect. Quiet and scenic, then only a 5 minute walk to city Center!

Apartment - perfect! Internet access was dependable. 2 bedrooms: double and 2 singles for kids. Very functional kitchen and comfortable dining / living room. Great shower!
