About The Owner

Susan and Allan: we live in the Scottish Borders but wanted to have a home in Edinburgh. We have family who reside in Edinburgh that we visit frequently. The apartment is ideally placed to get the most from a holiday in Edinburgh. We hope that guests will find the comfortable accommodation as much of a pleasure to stay in as we do.

Why The Owner chose Stockbridge

We had been searching for three years for an apartment in the heart of Edinburgh that would be ideal for us to use and to holiday let. The apartment has been fully refurbished.The property is superbly located in the Dean area of Edinburgh, which runs alongside the Water of Leith and lies just a few minutes walk from the retail and commercial heart of Edinburgh. The apartment enjoys all the benefits city living has to offer with restaurants, bistros and shops located in nearby vicinity. There is no need for a car as main bus routes are close by that cover most parts of the town and surrounding areas. Neighbouring Stockbridge, just a ten minute walk beside the water of Leith, also provides further local shopping and a Waitrose supermarket.

What makes this apartment unique

Dean village is a tranquil green oasis only five minutes from Princes Street. Dean is located in a conservation area which forms part of Edinburgh World Heritage Sites The apartment is part of an historic mill conversion.

We regret that we cannot accept pets and the flat is strictly non-smoking. The flat has full central heating. Outside: There is a beautiful garden overlooking the Water of Leith to the rear of the property which you are welcome to use and enjoy at your leisure. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and bed linen are provided, extra towels are available by request. Cleaning and linen change is done between lets or by request. Other: All electricity included in rental price.

Very nice appartment and top located

The appartment is as described, very well equipped, very comfy beds, and very conviniently located, only a short walk away from Princess road. The walkway of the Water of Leith is passing by and leading to wonderful walks along the river.

Perfect! Great Location, Lovely Flat

The location is wonderful, charming village setting away from the hustle of the city but quick easy access to everything. Very clean, comfortable, all the amenities and a thoughtful arrival gift bag. My daughter, daughter-in-law and I enjoyed our time spent in the flat as much as we enjoyed this amazing city. I highly recommend this property.

Thank you Susan for accomodating us with our arrival time. After a long overnight flight, and Anna being seven months pregnant, it was so nice to arrive at your beautiful flat and just relax for a bit before beginning our adventure. After walking miles every day exploring this great city we loved coming back to the flat.

Perfect home in a special location

Two friends and I stayed in the Apartment in early August to catch the first week of the Edinburgh Festival. Susan was a very friendly and responsive hostess. The flat is comfortable; lovely soft beds, heating if required, windows that open, a bath, all you will need for cooking and there is a lift to the first floor if you have heavy luggage. You can walk to Princes Street or there are buses just up the road. We got a transport pass at Waverley Station that we could top up either online or on the bus. Warning- you MUST have the right money to give to the driver to buy individual tickets or to top up a pass.

Lastly, the location is not only convenient but it's is a beautiful area with old restored buildings along the river Leith. It's a quiet and peaceful spot and worth walking around. I'd recommend the local markets for fresh bread, coffee and cakes, meat, seafood, and vegetables. Overall we had a terrific stay in Susan's apartment and would stay there again, without hesitation, if we are lucky enough to return to beautiful Edinburgh.

Wonderful stay in a wonderful location

My daughter and I stayed for 5 nights in this flat. We loved the location - very peaceful and beautiful and yet only a few minutes walk from Stockbridge and from Princes Street. The flat itself was very comfortable with great beds, lots of room in the closets, and a fully equipped kitchen. The shower was great - lots of water pressure. There was also a safe in the master bedroom to store valuables and a washer/dryer in the kitchen. Highly recommended and we will be back!

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
