About The Owner

Susan and Allan: we live in the Scottish Borders but wanted to have a home in Edinburgh. We have family who reside in Edinburgh that we visit frequently. The apartment is ideally placed to get the most from a holiday in Edinburgh. We hope that guests will find the comfortable accommodation as much of a pleasure to stay in as we do.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2010

Why The Owner chose Edinburgh

We had been searching for three years for an apartment in the heart of Edinburgh that would be ideal for us to use and to holiday let. The apartment has been fully refurbished. The property is superbly located in the Dean area of Edinburgh, which runs alongside the Water of Leith and lies just a few minutes walk from the retail and commercial heart of Edinburgh. The apartment enjoys all the benefits city living has to offer with restaurants, bistros and shops located in nearby vicinity. There is no need for a car as main bus routes are close by that cover most parts of the town and surrounding areas. Neighbouring Stockbridge, just a ten minute walk beside the water of Leith, also provides further local shopping and a Waitrose supermarket.

What makes this apartment unique

Dean village is a tranquil green oasis only five minutes from Princes Street. Dean is located in a conservation area which forms part of Edinburgh World Heritage Sites The apartment is part of an historic mill conversion.

Fantastic flat in a fantastic location!!!

  • 5 of 5

Myself and my two daughters spent 2 weeks during the Fringe 2016 in Susan's flat and couldn't be happier! It is very well appointed, with everything you would possibly need, complete kitchen with cooking utensils, comfortable beds, a very good shower and nice decoration. In our short breaks from the Festival, we could watch the Olympics on BBC, which was perfect!

The owners, Susan and Allan, are very kind and helpful. This area of the city is very conveniently located to access downtown without the fuss and noise, and I would highly recommend taking some time to stroll along the Leith walk pathways to Stockbridge or the Botanical Gardens (if are lucky enough with the weather!). Edinburgh public transportation is very efficient and easy to use and there is a convenient bus stop just up the (little) hill from the flat.

In summary, I already miss this beautiful city and Susan's flat and will surely go back when I have a chance!

Fantastic apartment in a handy and beautiful location.

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful three night, family break in Edinburgh (two adults and two children, aged 5 & 8).

Communication in advance was brilliant, making our arrival very smooth. The apartment was great to come into after a long day's travelling. Even better than it looks in the photos. So clean, well appointed and welcoming, and only a 10-15 min walk from our tram-stop. It's location is spot on, being an easy walk into the city, but out of the hustle and bustle, in a very picturesque and peaceful area. We all, particularly the kids, loved the garden; it was well worth finding our way through the basement to spend time out there next to the waterfall!

Edinburgh itself is a beautiful city. We wished we had more time to explore. For families, we'd certainly recommend the museum; it's fantastic, and free!!

If ever we're lucky enough to be able to go to Edinburgh again, we would definitely look to stay in the same apartment, as we couldn't fault it in any way. Thank you very much for helping to make our holiday perfect.

Wonderful, well appointed flat

  • 5 of 5

After 2 weeks of travel this flat was almost like coming home! It certainly has all the comforts of home. Everything is up to date, working and very clean. The bathroom was a treat after some very small places we had been. It is full sized with a marvelous shower. The kitchen is fully equipped, and had I been inclined to do so, I could have cooked very nicely. We stuck to breakfast and snacks as we did a lot of travelling around the area. The beds are quite comfortable. The historical area is very beautiful.

There is no very convenient parking near by, but cabs are quick and efficient - about 5 pounds to center town.

I recommend this flat to couples and families. Since there is an elevator, it is quite accessible.

The three of us enjoyed the comfort and the amenities and will look to staying here on our next trip to Edinburgh..
