An olive grove, walking distance from town and port, 3km to nearest beach.
My name is Elena Maria.I am a painter and ceramicist, have one daughter of 27 yrs.We both speak fluent English. I love making marmalades and chutneys from our fruit trees, that we offer, with any other information to make your stay pleasurable. Thankyou in advance.
Moved to this paradise, although from Athens, 30 yrs ago, to be far from the city.We have the ideal location for a small ceramics workshop, and also a shop 'Armoloi'at the harbour. The first beach, Stafylos, is at 3 klm. distance, easy walk from the property.
The benefits are:vicinity of town,[walking distance], and port at 1.5km. First beach 3 km. Tranquility, green shaded areas under plane and olive trees. Also 2 supermarkets nearby. Swimming pool, 4 x 10m. amongst exotic flowers and beautiful view of the surrounding hills.
Beautiful, tranquillity, good hospitality from owner.
Armoloi House is a perfect destination for a wonderful holiday. The cottage is beautifully arranged and the location is peaceful and yet just a short distance from town. The owner couldn’t have been more helpful or hospitable and we can’t wait to return. 10 out of 10!!
I don't really want to write this as I'm worried I'll never be able to book it again but feel we owe it to Elena our host.
If you like things a little off the beaten track, this was perfect. Cottage was lovely and had a nice sized pool. Would go back in a shot!
For our first holiday on a Greek island I don't think we could have found a better place to stay! Elena and her daughter Dimitra are simply wonderful; the house is perfect and so are the pool and garden. One can easily walk into town and back. There are lots of minibuses and buses to go to fantastic beaches further out. We did rent a car so that we could be more independent and we drove up into the fabulous mountains and walked to the various monasteries and sites. We will try to come again and stay in the lovely Armoloi cotto. We hated leaving! Thank you Elena and Dimitra
We have been renting apartments, cottages and villas in Greece for 30 years and this is the best of all those we have stayed in. Near but not too near the town and within walking distance, very near a bus stop, not on a main road, quiet, a nice pool, a lovely garden and a charming shaded cottage. There are plenty of walks along quiet lanes if you want to explore the surrounding countryside. Elena is wonderful, discreet but always on hand if you need anything. We enjoyed the cottage, pool and garden so much that some days we stayed where we were. We have never done that before. I really recommend a stay.
The website pictures and information provide an accurate description of the property and location. The villa was situated in a quiet area, between the owner’s (Elena’s) house and the other small villa available for rental from Elena. In my experience it is hard to find a small villa for two, especially one with such a generously sized swimming pool. We very much appreciated the peace and tranquility, always looking forward to returning to the villa after a trip out. The villa was within easy walking distance of the town/port – approximately 15-20 minutes. A car is not essential, but we hired one for 3 days in the middle of our stay in order to access all parts of the beautiful island. There are two well-stocked supermarkets within less than a 10 minute walk. In reality we spent very little time in the villa itself – however, we slept well at night thanks to the efficient air-conditioning system and the shower worked well with a plentiful supply of hot water. We liked the various options for eating our meals – front and back of the villa and by the pool.
Elena far exceeded our expectations – we couldn’t have asked for more! We very much appreciated the pick up from the port, drop-off at the end of our stay, and a lift to the supermarket on the first day. There were so many other little touches: a welcome bottle of wine, herbs, home-made marmalade, home-made olive oil. Further ‘gifts’ appeared during our stay: olives, home-made chutney, more home-made marmalade, peppers, onions. We were a little surprised there was no BBQ, but Elena explained why and provided one for us to use. Elena was very approachable and we really enjoyed our chats with her and meeting her dogs!
I am rather surprised at the overly negative comments made by Dana from Romania. Perhaps some of the fixtures/fittings are not 5 star, but I prefer to appreciate things like the lovely hand-painted tiles in the bathroom (of which I took some photos). The villa had everything we needed. I would certainly recommend this property to family and friends and we hope to stay here again in the future (especially if we can negotiate to have sole use of the pool again!). We love eating by the sea and Skopelos offers so many possibilities for this (as do all the other Greek islands!). We particularly enjoyed our meals at Glisteri (Palio Karnayio), Agnondas (Pavlos), on the harbour front in Skopelos, as well as the snack bar at Ayios Ioannis Kastri. Overall, the holiday was 5 star!
If you are thinking
My wife and I spent a wonderful week in Armoloi Blue cottage. The owner, Elena, is a lovely lady who was very helpful and friendly to us throughout. Her delicious home-made marmalade was a real treat at breakfast. The cottage itself has a wonderful, rustic charm and is very quiet, clean and well-kept. The tiled floor is cool and comfortable to walk on. The bedroom is air-conditioned, there's a good-sized fridge in the kitchen and there was always plenty of hot water for the shower. Outside in the mature garden there is a superb swimming pool, stunningly illuminated at night. There are pleasant eating areas at the front and the back of the house. In terms of location, we found it to be absolutely ideal. From the cottage, it is just a short walk into Skopelos Town and harbour where there are an amazing number of places to eat and drink, all in a buzzing and friendly atmosphere. In the other direction, 3km away along the quiet Old Road, are the picturesque beaches of Stafilos and Velanio. Also, two of the best supermarkets on Skopelos are both within 5 minutes walk of the house, a real convenience that should not be under-estimated. All in all, we enjoyed a lovely holiday at Armoloi and would happily return another time. Thank you Elena.
Wow! What a fantastic, wonderful place, we cannot recommend this little piece of heaven enough. This was our fifth stay and We'll be back next year, only wish We could have stayed longer.
The cottage Armoloi is so cute and homely, and the pool perfect, it is so tranquil...we picked our own lemons from the trees at the back.
Elena as ever was a perfect host and brought us home made marmalade, hand picked herbs and artichokes and couldn't do enough to make us feel at home.
The place was spotlessly clean, the cleaner came twice a week and pool cleaner on weds and sats.
We can't wait until we come back...highly recommend if you want romantic, escape from it all place and also only a short distance from town.
