About this property

Bella Terra is a restored flat topped trullo in a beautiful private garden setting with sea views. It is located in the countryside halfway between Carovigno and Santa Sabina.Whilst in the countryside it is only 5 minutes drive to either the town of Carovigno or the beach of Santa Sabina. The garden has figs, plums, lemons, pears, apples, grapes almonds, olives, pomegranate and a few other exotic fruits.
I make my own organic olive oil which can be purchased and lovely jams, salsa .
A Puglian paradise with panoramic see views from the garden and roof terrace. Only 25 minutes drive from Brindisi airport! Its a very relaxing, romantic hideaway perfect for two people, (the sofa bed is comfortable for an additional adult or child). There is an extra charge for a child over 11yrs or an adult (10 £ per night)
There are 2 hammocks, a barbecue and 5 metre circular pool for your private use only during the summer.
Large patio area, table and chairs for your outdoor dining, large gazebo and BBQ. Stroll around the beautiful land and sample the fruit. The house has a gated drive and security system. Lovely four star hotel, (Corte di Fero) with a large swimming pool very nearby. Owners house next door using separate garden area and Louisa is on hand for any help or information about the area. She is very respectful of guests privacy. WiFi and Aircon and final clean included from May 2023 included.

Louisa is an artist and teacher. If you would like to have creative art lessons during your holiday, lessons are available from 9.30 -1.00 at a cost of £ 75 per person including materials.

Holistic massage is also available.
Louisa is a very experienced massage therapist incorporating sports massage, craniosacral therapy Reiki and Chinese cupping. Treatments are one hour.
A warm welcome awaits you with homemade jam, fruit, bread milk eggs and wine.

An oasis of tranquility

We had a wonderful stay at Bella Terra. Louisa is an amazing host, there is you need her but never intrusive. The inside accommodation is compact but comfortable and has everything you need. Outside is just amazing with so many places to sit and enjoy the beautiful garden. It was great to have the pool to cool off. This is a good location for getting around - the train station just 5 mins drive away with frequent services to Lecce and Bari. Good road links too. Our only complaint is that the time went so quickly!

Fantastique

Nous avons très apprécié l'accueil de Louisa qui a une attention particulière pour ses hôtes (nombreux produits locaux à notre arrivée). Le logement est très propre, pratique. L'agencement de l'extérieur permet de passer un séjour reposant. A recommander les yeux fermés.

Location de rêve

Un accueil parfait de Louisa avec des produits locaux à notre arrivée. Le logement est très propre avec un grand espace extérieur qui permet de se reposer et de se baigner au calme. Le logement est aussi bien situé pour visiter les villes aux alentours. Louisa est toujours de bon conseil pour profiter du séjour. Louisa est une personne généreuse et attentionnée. A perfect getaway

It's a small apartment on a sprawling property - the apartment itself is lovely but the real reason to love the place is the outside. Lots of nooks and crannies to get some sun, take a nap, cool off (the pool and the outdoor shower). I only realized when I came back to Rome for a couple of days how much Louisa's place had let me disconnect and relax. It was everything I was hoping for in a rural Italian getaway.

A wonderful stay

Our stay in Carovigno at Louisa's trullo was lovely. The outdoor space is just amazing - flowers everywhere, the trees and too many space to choose from for relaxing. We enjoyed the sunset from the roofdeck, cooled off in the pool, and ate every meal outside. Louisa is a wonderful host. Her gift of a bottle of wine, her dried figs and jam, and all of the breakfast and snack provisions, was much appreciated. She thought of everything, including beach towels, chairs and umbrella and mosquito coils. We loved our stay in Puglia and Louisa and her home were so much a part of our enjoyment there.

Retired special needs teacher , love to paint, love the sunshine, food and friendly people. My mother was born in Carovigno and I fell in love with the place after family holidays as a child. I worked hard to renovate the property and guests have really enjoyed their stay. I now spend more time in Italy developing my lovely garden , producing wine, olive oil , jams and limoncello which are for sale. I also enjoy painting the local scenery.
I provide a little welcome pack for all guests of a few essentials which are much appreciated especially for late arrivals.

Why they chose this property

I fell in love with the house, beautiful garden and location. It has fantastic sea views! The house which I have worked hard on to renovate, sits in the middle of an acre of lovely garden with lots of different fruits, olives and a small vineyard. Whilst it is very private and rural , its only 5 minutes drive to the beach and 5 minutes to the town of Carovigno. So the house has the peace of the countryside but is not remote.
The rental part of the house is a flat topped trullo (Saraceno).It is a typical Trullo but with a flat top and built of stone with thick walls, a window in the bathroom and a window in the bedroom. It is tiled throughout and is simply but tastefully decorated. Its a haven from the hustle and bustle of life with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The house is at the top of a private drive and has a security system. The house has everything you need for your stay. There is a 5 mt circular above ground pool in the summer months and convenient outdoor shower. The house is ideal for outdoor living with a large patio with 3x3 meter gazebo with mosquito nets under which is a large table and chairs. There are 2 comfortable loungers and 2 more on the roof terrace.

What makes this property unique

The trullo is ideal for a couple having one double bedroom. There is also a sofa bed in the living area which would be fine for an adult or 1 child. It has a country cottage feel in a beautiful location. 5 metre above ground pool to cool off in and get some exercise during the summer months. Newly installed Wifi. Wander around the garden in the mornings and pick figs, plums and grapes and lots of other fruits. The house is on a hill so there is a lovely healthy sea breeze, many houses in the interior of the countryside can be very hot, but Bella Terra has a fresh magical atmosphere.
Its very easy to find as its near a very tasteful 4 star hotel called Corte di Fero which has a big sign on the main road to Carovigno. Turn at the sign and the house is down the lane. The hotel is lovely , has a large swimming pool and is only a few minutes walk from my house. The hotel is not visible from the house.
Long term rental now available during the winter. A perfect hideaway for a writer or someone/couple who are looking for solitude.
