Stunning Farmhouse in Sainte Cecile du Cayrou, Nr. Castelnau de Montmiral, Magical Setting, Relaxation Guaranteed

Beautiful 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom farmhouse that sleeps up to 11 people set in 15 acres of surrounding countryside with magnificent views. Luxuriously furnished and surrounded by gardens Combenègre has everything you would wish for in it's location for sight seeing, setting for the views and every luxury inside the house to make your holiday memorable and relaxing. There are two outside eating areas with different views and a large private swimming pool. There is also freeview TV, high definition projector and home cinema system and Wi-Fi internet access. 5 mins drive to Castelnau for morning croissants, 10 mins to Gaillac for supermarket shopping, restaurants and Friday market. Many beautiful Bastide villages within 10 minutes drive. No stag or hen parties. Please note there are open staircases, uneven stone steps and an unfenced, alarmed pool at this property. Babes in arms welcome (cot and highchair provided)

Steve and Suzanne have owned Combenègre since 2007. Steve regularly commutes to England and Italy and Suzanne maintains the property and gardens. Having returned to England for some of the time to accommodate children's schooling requirements, they now prefer to spend as much time as possible in France. Why Suzanne Richardson chose Tarn-et-Garonne

The house is beautiful with many original features and being only 1 hour from Toulouse airport it is easily commutable from England. It is totally peaceful with amazing views of surrounding countryside with no light pollution. There is an abundance of wild flowers and insects in the meadows as the land has been untreated with pesticides or fertilisers for many years, it is perfect! With the recent addition of our 1000 lavender plants we hope to make the views even more spectacular.

Peace and quiet, luxuriously appointed house with private pool with amazing views across to Castelnau de Montmiral and beautiful unspoilt bastide villages for long lazy lunches.

A wonderful property in a beautiful setting

We had a truly wonderful holiday. The house is absolutely gorgeous, so much attention to detail. Beautifully decorated and furnished, the beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is spectacular and well equipped. The outside area is lovely with plenty of room for dining, the pool area is comfortable and inviting. The views are magnificent. The owners are very helpful and accommodating. We had a fantastic holiday.

A fantastic house in a beautiful setting.

We had a wonderful week in this amazing home. The house is beautiful with lovely furnishings and fittings. Everywhere was extremely clean and tidy and a lot of thought and detail had gone into it enabling you to feel very much at home with everything you could possibly need. The kitchen was huge and very well equipped, it made preparing food a delight.

The pool and gardens were also lovely. There was plenty of poolside furniture, a great BBQ area and some nice shaded areas to sit in if you wanted to get out of the heat. Suzanne was a perfect host. You were never aware she was next door, but she was always available should you have a query.

The area is stunning and there are some lovely villages to visit. We took our bikes, which was fun but there are plenty of hills to deal with! We also went canoeing on the river Tarn one day which was great fun

I cannot rate this place highly enough and would definitely recommend this property to family and friends. We had such a relaxing week, it was just a shame we weren't there for two! Perhaps next time...

Relaxing Family Holiday in Spacious Farmhouse

We spent 2 relaxing weeks at Combenegre, a house that was large enough for everyone to have their own private space and with an interior decor (and film library) that cheered us up on the few rainy days we had! We were looking for a rental home that was lovingly maintained and Combenegre lived up to every expectation. The butterflies and buzzing of insects was proof of what the real countryside can be like. Thank you Suzanne for being available when needed and for sharing this wonderful corner of France.

Beautiful and spacious house with lovely pool

Combenegre is a wonderful place for a relaxing and very comfortable holiday. We have stayed twice and absolutely love the house, pool and gardens. The house is very clean and well equipped and facilities are as described. The pool is well maintained. The owners are unobtrusive but very helpful and friendly, providing lots of advice on the area. We honestly couldn't think of anything we would change and definitely hope to return in the future.

A perfect family retreat

When we arrived at Combenegre, my daughter said, "I have that excited feeling in my stomach that I only ever get at Christmas!" and I have to admit, I felt the same! It's a beautiful home, which benefits from the attentive, personal touches of the owners who reside in the Gite on the property. The house itself is very spacious, beautifully and comprehensively furnished. It's set in a scenic location with stunning panoramic views of the rolling countryside. The surrounding areas are partly wooded and partly agricultural - vineyards and sunflowers (not to mention the newly planted lavender farm on the property). The location is ideal, dozens of idyllic small villages within easy reach by car or bicycle, not to mention the nearby larger town of Gaillac with its museums and Cathedral. Despite a bit of mixed weather during the week we were there (a mixture of blazing sunshine and ferocious thunderstorms) our family had a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Further Details:

During the month of August there is a music festival in Albi and Castelnau de Montmiral. On the first weekend of August there is the famous Fete de Vin in Gaillac where it is possible to taste and buy wine from over 150 local vignerons.

Outside: 11m x 5m private swimming pool. The pool is not fenced but there is an alarm. Over 5's must be good swimmers, adult supervision at all times is required. Chill out area, music system, sunbeds and umbrellas around the pool area. Beautiful wild flower meadows to walk in. Beautiful covered pergola next to barbecue area for perfect long lunches. Utility Room: Washing machine, large fridge freezer with ice maker. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Towels and linen included in rental. Property cleaned at changeover. Pool maintenance once a week.
