Super place for Christmas get together
Communication before arrival was excellent and the place was found easily with their directions. The barn comprises 6 bedrooms all opening off the large central space. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas and we all had space to relax and socialise. It was a great stay.

Stunning barn and location
This was absolutely perfect for our friends annual get together! 11 of us descended on the Anstey Grove Barn for a weekend escape. The location was perfectly placed in the countryside with a short scenic walk (as recommended by our host) to the local pub; ‘The Blind Fiddler’ for Saturday lunch. A well equipped kitchen and utility was perfect for our cooking needs, with a large dining table seating all of us. Plenty of board games on hand and ample seating in the many sofas. Bedrooms were spacious and comfy and all with en-suites. The master bedroom with its four poster bed is highly recommended and a treat for one lucky couple; and that would be me as the organiser. We all had an amazing weekend only added to by the venue and a friendly and thoughtful host. Thank you.

A great long weekend
A fabulous place to stay. Location is very peaceful and relaxing. The barn has everything you could want to make your stay perfect. Lots of outside space to enjoy the sunshine ( which luckily we had plenty). Booking and communication with Andrew was excellent. I am sure we will return. Thank you Anstey Grove Barn.

A lovely space for bigger groups and families
The property was great - we all found the space was ideal for having a group gathering all to ourselves away from the city. The kitchen and common areas are spacious and ideal for large dinners and socializing. Each bedroom was en-suite, which is a very desirable feature for privacy. The host was accommodating and communicative. Overall we had a very good experience and would definitely return.

About the host

Andrew and Alice have been at Anstey Grove Barn for over 40 years, raising a family and running a farm in the heart of rural Hertfordshire. In 1980 they bought a working pig farm with 20 acres of land and began to build a family home. Within months the house was built, and within years a broadleaf wood was planted and wildflower meadow cultivated that have now come to be protected by the Hertfordshire Wildlife Trust. The working pig farm has now gone, but the wood, meadows, flock of free range hens and horses remain. In 2004 Alice and Andrew decided to convert the large Barn at the heart of the farm and create high quality bed and breakfast accommodation. Their intention has always been to provide a homely base from which families, couples and those just passing through can enjoy
