Séjour sympathique
La maison est très agréable et conforme à l’annonce en ligne. La communication avec les propriétaires est aisée, ils sont réactifs.

This is the first time that it was too short
We always book a cottage for one week, and this is the first time that it really was too short and we do not want to leave yet. We especially enjoyed the lovely terrace, fire bowl and sitting in the evening sun. Thank you very much for the good tourist tips: we hiked, went with a canoe on the river Cure and we went for horse riding through the forest at the riding school in Montillot. The town of Vézelay was also definitely worth a visit. But the best was yet doing nothing here on the terrace and unwind! We will definitely recommend this home to our family and friends!

Very good; a comfortable and tasteful property.
Very good; a tasteful and well-resourced property located in a quiet village in the heart of ravishing countryside. Wonderful food and wine locally. One or two things missing like an iron/ironing board and surprising that one had to provide one's own towels. But these are minor - the key questions are (1) value for money - not cheap but yes and (2) would I return - again yes. Owners themselves very accommodating..

Really Fantastic!
Le Cochon Volant is a wonderful home as well as holiday rental. Set in a small friendly traditional village, it is a beautiful, and sympathetically restored, spacious farm house which is a perfect fusion of traditional and modern architecture. It has everything (and more) that one would need, and is superbly furnished with old and new styling throughout. As well as the house being amazing we fell in love with the area too, so many things to do, see and explore. A week simply was just not long enough! We will definitely be going back. A huge thank you to the owners for making us so welcome and sharing their lovely idyllic home with us. Rosie, Leigh, Lara and Ellis

Our third stay in Le Cochon
It was our third stay in Le Cochon this autumn. I have a tendency of not going back to our travel destinations -so many amazing places to chose from …But Le Cochon is magic! It is actually not easy to put this experience into words - house is immaculate and has so many charming, very chic and rustic design moments. You feel cared and trusted by owners who just let you into their treasured space .What we really like is that it’s settled within the very small group of other sweet little houses, so you feel part of the small community enjoying the unique top of the hill position. The landscape outside is ever changing. We are either lucky or it is just a rule that even at the end of October you get glorious sunny weather there mixed perhaps with mystical foggy mornings or evenings or bit of a windy day for a change… Food must be at the heart of local people there -temptations in every village shop. The best chicken (yes chicken but nothing like the chicken we have) we ever cooked was from the local butcher, unobtainable wild mushrooms, the best pralines that haunt me when back at home and of course wine …. My children feel very much at home there and I cannot stop writing this review because there are too many good things to say about Le Cochon and places that surrounds it. So authentically French and a real treasure of a holiday place. Thank you so much for letting us share this experience. Renata and Premek with children, London

We had been visiting friends in this area for many years before we first stumbled upon our farmhouse in 1992. Six years after purchasing it, we decided to get married there. In the 13th Century 'La Chapelle du Mont Sabot'. The wedding party, a combined celebration (our long-time French friends also married that day) took place back at the farmhouse, with our guests dining on spit-roasted pork at long white linen-covered tables. Since then, we have continued to spend many memorable holidays there with our three children.

Why they chose this property

The wide-open rolling landscape and authenticity of the Bourgogne seem to get the most out of all the seasons. In the summertime, the fields shine with millions of sunflowers. Autumn explodes in rich deep colours as the first storms invite you to enjoy a wine in front of the fireplace. A walk in the white frosted winter landscape invigorates body and mind. While the beauty of a Bourgogne spring continues to surprise us each time we're there.

Our ideal day consists of an early morning stroll through a brocante in a warm lazy village, an afternoon swim in one of the many local lakes, and a sunset barbecue back home on the terrace. Inevitably ending the day with marshmallow roasting around the campfire.

Leave your watch at home and let nature guide your day.

What makes this property unique

What might set our farmhouse apart from other holiday gîtes, is the amount of space both the farmhouse and property provide its guests. From the 20m2 bathroom to the 4000m2 private grounds.
But more importantly, 'Gîte Le Cochon Volant' hasn't been furnished to be rented. So you'll find things like genuine charm, great beds, and utensils that make cooking enjoyable instead of a chore.
And no plastic garden furniture in sight!
