Photos and Description of this Pitlochry holiday bungalow

Lochside holiday home in Pitlochry, Scotland - Spot The Osprey And The Red Squirrels From The House

The lodge is a fabulous 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom bungalow on the edge of Loch Faskally, Pitlochry. The Lodge has wi-fi, digital TV and DVD, fully equipped kitchen and great indoor and outdoor spaces. The Lodge is supplied with a gas bbq for al fresco meals in the summer. Whilst relaxing at the house, keep an eye out for the local wildlife - red squirrels, osprey, deer and many other birds and animals. On purchase of a permit, you can fish from the banks of the property. Unfortunately due to the proximity of the loch, The Lodge is not suitable for children under the age of 7.

We have a lockable shed where you can store your bikes or other outdoor sporting equipment during your stay.

Suitability:
  • children welcome
  • non smoking only
  • pets considered
  • suitable for elderly or infirm
  • wheelchair accessible

About Susan Brown

This is a family business that has recently been handed on from one generation to the next. We all live near The Lodge and are on hand for any queries that you might have. My sister-in-law services The Lodge and we all take pride in ensuring it is a very clean, comfortable place for you to stay.

The property has been in the family a long time and has been through 2 major rebuilds in the last 14 years - the latest in early 2012.

I am a qualified Scottish Blue Badge Tourist Guide so can help you with questions on things to see and do during your stay.

I will often phone or call round once your are installed to make sure you have everything you require.

Why Susan Brown chose Perthshire

You can be as active or as relaxed as you like in Pitlochry - there are plenty of walks from the front door or you could sit and watch the red squirrels and birds around the house or keep an eye out for the osprey that comes back every summer. We have castles, stately homes, stunning views, water sports, national parks and culture all around us - with no need to travel far at all. For those who wish to explore Scotland, you will find that Pitlochry is the perfect base - a small highland town but all the major cities and the east and west coasts are within a 1.5 to 2.5 hours drive.

What makes this bungalow unique

The Lodge is on the edge of Loch Faskally in Pitlochry and has stunning views over the loch. It is built all on one level and is wheelchair friendly. Pitlochry is on the main train line from London, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness so you don't need a car to stay here or explore the area. The Lodge comes supplied with stereo, digital TV, DVD and VHS player and broadband / wi-fi. The kitchen was upgraded in early 2012 and has large fridge, freezer, microwave, oven, dishwasher and washing machine. All bedlinen and towels are supplied and a welcome pack awaits you when you arrive so you don't have to rush out for the essentials.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Very clean, spacious property in beautiful location. Plenty of space for parking several cars if needed. Superb views of the loch. We saw a pheasant walking along the patio wall, many varieties of birds and a red squirrel eating nuts from the bird feeder.

Tips for other travellers

Blair Castle is well worth a visit.

We had a lovely visit to the Cairngorms and went up the funicular railway to the Ptarmigan Restaurant where the views were spectacular and there was plenty of snow.

We had a lovely meal at The Green Park Hotel next door to The Lodge on our last night.

One of the very few properties we will return to...again and again. IDEAL!

  • 5 of 5

The property was very clean, comfortable and spacious.

Well equipped kitchen with the most generous welcome pack we have EVER had!

Walks of all levels straight from the door.

10 minutes walk into centre of Pitlochry which has every type of restaurant/eating place but still remain quaint and pretty. We have always mainly cooked when on holiday, but could not resist the amount of eateries...

BUT...Be prepared for..... the most AMAZING VIEW...Straight from living room and master bedroom! We had nice weather but even if raining it would still be beautiful.

You are not over looked at all, whilst sitting and looking out of windows or sat outside you would not think you are so near to all amenities.

We arrived in car..... but for anyone travelling by train/bus/foot.... you have everything at your doorstep. Plus the generous welcome pack would sustain you for at least a couple of days...

This would be fantastic for disabled or less able walkers as there is a wet room, level floors throughout the property and VIEWS you could look at forever.

Birds visit the very well supplied bird table outside of the property as do red squirrels...(who are a bit picky and like to feast on monkey nuts) so take an extra supply if you want to entice.

We cannot think of any negative thought regarding this holiday property...and have already booked for next year!

Oh by the way owner Sue is very friendly..but not intrusive and a font of local knowledge and helpful information to enhance your holiday.

Enjoy...
