A home away from home
April cottage is a home away from home. The rooms are light and airy, comfortably furnished and tastefully decorated. Although the kitchen is small it is quite adequate and there is more than enough equipment provided. The owners have obviously gone to great lengths to anticipate and cover every possible need.
The bathroom is modern; the shower is compact but works well. The master bedroom is large and storage space is ample. The view from its single window is simply stunning.
For international travellers like us with a lot of heavy luggage, the steep stone steps that lead down to the narrow path running across the front of the five cottages can present a bit of a challenge. However, once done, the arrival at the front terrace, which enjoys spectacular views over the Fal estuary and the far side of the river, makes it all worthwhile. We enjoyed sitting out there for breakfast and evening drinks as often as we could.
Although there is no designated car space for the cottage, we never had a problem finding one in the roads nearby.
Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and our only complaint is that we wish it could have been longer.
